Probably worth mentioning that you can refresh ledge invincibility twice before needing to touch the floor, because after that your extended invincibility goes away

yes but you didnt show how to actually grab the ledge.. jumping up like that is NOT the way..

I mean it’s a RUclips short I doubt this is full context- there’s a million ways to do it and the good ones are all kind of technical

there are other ways depending on the situation but shorthopping to the ledge is totally fine. you can do so pretty quickly and you can even see pro melee and i assume rivals players doing it often

Technically any way that you can grab it that lets you get it in time is valid, that includes jumping and RAR.
Of course, you can also run off, wavedash, moonwalk etc, but it’s all situational and he could probably make another short that’s only about methods to actually grab ledge.

there's a method unique to R2 where you run up to the ledge > pivot > press shield.
similar to a PC drop in melee but the shield at the end is what makes you slide off since you can't walk/run off of ledges in this game

Ledge hogging is such an awful mechanic

@@MB-hc9we ignoring the fact that it’s completely unintuitive for new players, winning a game without a kill screen is always just less satisfying for everybody involved.

@WhiteKnuckleRide512 i can see that, but to me it always felt more intuitive and created a lot more tension when a character was knocked offstage as opposed to trumping, since theres no telling if theyll make it back, even if they can reach it.
