- If you look up shoe reviews for sprinting you either get sprint spikes or shoe reviews for long distance !
However the shoes you were in your warm ups, drills and sprints are super important for hurdlers, sprinters and jumpers!
If you're just using a normal pair of trainers you're leaving potential speed gains on the table !
Here I list what to look for and what not to look for in shoes, a comparison between two shoes and my personal preference !

Good stuff! I made a similar video about 5 different shoes recently because I also didn't find good reviews about non-distance running shoes for track training.

I bought the supercomp from New Balance when it first came out which is also a solid replacement for Spikes... I used it heavily for drills and indoor footy which eventually led to the back heel caving in.. But I am looking forward to giving the ascis a proper go 💪🏽

My drills standing and in motion have never been sharper. I am able to find my stride quite quickly & fly past the finish line in my tempos (250m,150m,100m) more often that not. 🙂10/10 #Striking #Metaspeed #Asics

love the video, ive been kicking myself to find the best shoe after butchering my Pegasus 40 shoes being a 400m sprinter. im looking at availability in my size and im on a deadline to get a new pair quick as i have nationals next week, would getting the Asics Metaspeed Sky+ shoes be just as good or the same ? im just struggling to find the ones you recommend in my size

My personal choice would be to go for the magic speed 3’s. They have a full carbon plate

@@kamarmccurdy-batik98no carbon plate is only good for races not training, its bad for your feet and will weaken your foot muscles.😢

Can I ask are these better then the Nike waffle shoe for my daughter she is 9 and to young for spikes
Sorry for the delay ! Depends on the event, waffles would be better as they have more grip and can be good for field events etc.
The shoes might be better if she is just running though.
which do you recommend between sky plus and edge plus for sprint workouts?
I'd recommend the edge plus. It has a lower stack height and feels a bit closer to the ground. Sky plus is probably a bit too high and cushy for sprinting and drills in my opinion.

I reckon go for Asics magic speed 3 as a jogger. It's different if you want a spike

the new magic speed 3 I have a like more than the metaspeed edge 2 that I previously had.
I would personally go magic speed 3 both from a cost and practical use point of view
Will the shoes promote a heel strike?
You’ll still get a heel strike because they are running shoes. However the carbon fibre plate helps you stay up on the forefoot

That's interesting ! I haven't personally tried those ones yet.
Do they have a carbon plate?
this is just very general advice…. Sprinters should NEVER train in carbon plated trainers, and the only plated shoes they need are their spikes. A nike peg type of shoe is perfect.
