It's like the difference between the numbers 2 and 3. 1 is not that much of a difference but multiply the numbers by 10 and the difference is 20 and 30 which is much more obvious.

This will be survivor-favored. If a SWF splits up, the killers can only chase 2 at a time, that's 5-6 gens being worked on at once which is 62-75% of their objective with little gen regression or time to stop heals. So, the main combo for killers will be huntress/nurse to circumvent that.

it's 7 'gens' in identity v, but they're 100 sec 'gens' (instead of 80) and certain common 'perks' like 'thanatophobia' scale way harder in the mode due to 8 survs
You can have an opinion, the thing is developers don’t care about players opinion on the game, but if they do happen to care they only care about survivor players.

People please, lets get this thing clear once and for all. THIS GAME IS SURVIVOR SIDED. It is more easy as a company to get profits if you get happy 4 people instead of 1. In this case, 8 people. It has been shown how this game mode is completley useless for Killers without their perks. Gen rushing is even harder.
Yeah sadly the killers available are killers i do not like. I imagine a wesker and nemesis team up, a doctor and nurse team up, bubba and billy team up, hell if they ever add predator a predator and xeno team up. I get this is basically a test but hoping in the future when this mode is more balanced and more killers it will be a blast, but i am calling it now, this is gonna be a shit show.
The modded 2v8 is better than this garbage. Survivors have massive crutches in this mode 🤦♂️. Thought about coming back to try this mode but nah I’m good. Better games out there.
It does say that but it also says "Expose survivors while chainsaw sprinting" Now do they mean expose like the status effect? In that case it would be the same thing as insta down anyway so why even make that change. Altgough they would be exposed for the other killer so maybe that's why, his chainsaw still does the same thing essentially but it's now also good for a team. Unless by expose they don't mean the status effect and mean you see their aura while in sprint or something. Either way the power would still be useful just in a wildly different way if it's the second option. Edit: I just listened to what the devs actually said, they are exposed within a certain range of him when he is sprinting. So unless I'm missing something it's still instant down right? lol It's just now because of the expose and can perhaps help the other teammate already in chase. Edit 2: Oh yeah I forgot it only effect basic attacks, but does the exposed only last while he is in sprint or does it linger for a bit? So many questions lol
That second match looked SO forced to try to let killers think its a fair game mode lol. No one was on gens for like 8 minutes straight and they were running around like idiots, then once they decided, they finished the last 3 gens super quick. Even with all that, first match 6 escape not even half the hooks, 2nd where it was so forced 5 STILL escaped lol.
finished all 8 gens and not even one kill for the 2 killers is crazy.. i feel there is a slight chance if not none at all a chance for a kill.. 24 cage for killer and only complete 8 gens for the surviver is crazy..

not really for example no hooks and cages is a good idea because of the inmense pressure 8 survs have. The only thing is for some reason you have to interact with them to do it? I feel like it should have been automatic down and the entity takes the body because it kills your pace to step on them.

I was soooo hyped for that gamemode, finally playing as killer-duo with my friends. But only 8 gens, no slowdown at all + gamebreaking buffs for survivors (e.g. old broken object of obsession) just doesnt make sense at all. Killers will get stomped every game. Slugging is again the most promising strategy cause survivors dont have unbreakable-like effects in this mode. And slugging 8 players is way easier than getting 24 hooks until 8 gens are done. Probably a billy zooming across the map exposing everyone + huntress for slugging them is going to be the most effective combo
It is SUCH a shame that more killers aren't available in this gamemode. I hope someday they make them available. I absolutely MUST have a Spirit and Oni duo killer game!
Absolutely insane, i like the concept but how in the world are you supposed to win as killer? This is braindead easy. You can chase up to 2 survivors at a time so 6 of them can be on gens at a time?
Easy; -Reduce the cooldown on things like (Gen kick, Hit and Swipe animation, vaulting, pallet breaking, hooking) -Make kicking a Gen more powerful -After an X amount of time has passed or hooks established, make killers be able to one shot survivors for a durations of 20 seconds I feel these changes are easy to implement, I also have an idea of making to where survivors die on 2nd hook but are able to come back into the match if survivors do a ritual or something. That survivor that has come back is only perma exposed and on insta death hook
Damn. I was looking forward to seeing what sort of crazy combinations of killer powers this mode would have, but we're only getting a few of the simplest ones... I know the devs have set the bar so low it's more like a decorative inlay in the floor, but I still had some hope for this mode.
So my take is this: what i was hoping for was the option to fight alongside a fellow killer after years of 1 killer VS the world in this 2v8, for me and my teammate to pick any killer we want, discovering which 2 killers have good Synergie with one and another, pick any addons and perks we want, Basically like a normal trial but with more players. Instead we get: only the first 5 original killers are available, 8 survivors with their classes but lets be honest many will pick just escapist and/or scout 8 gens need to be done instead of 10 (5 gens when its 4v1 so it should be 10 gens for a 2v8) no gen slowdowns 3 exit gates and 2 hatches Killers do get the team buff and basekit buffs which dont sound that great survivors can still open chests for toolboxes/flashlights/etc Conclusion: I know they're just testing it so Ill try to keep an open mind but I'm not excited for this
2v8 is everything I knew it would be. No slowdown at all and even less work for survivors than before. But as long as survivors are having fun who cares -_-
I couldn't believe people complaining in the comments or even the ones playing saying how unfair is that both killer chase one person or things like that when they were seeing how easy it was for the survs. They finished all the gens and no one was dead, and probably everyone could've scaped if the two that stay didn't look for the hatchs without a logical resaon.
I want to clearly state FYI, since I already see some head shaking comments here. :( To many of y'all may want to cross a line attacking the players or their looks, please just don't. I have no issues with WHO any of them are or what they represent, I just want to know WHO they are. LOL And that's on BHVR for not creating and fostering a healthy community and highlighting their FW's.
8 Gens probably makes sense from the perspective that killers get some ways to secure pretty fast hooks, namely the instant-hooking and having double-teaming one chase. But I suspect that it ignores that killers are playing without slowdown perks, which are vital to make 5 gens in the base game last more than a few minutes. My gut tells me this would actually be pretty balanced if there was just a base pain resonance or ruin on the killer side to slow down survivors, or maybe a mini corrupted intervention to let the game start in more of a chaotic state. Still, the mode looks fun, which is by far more important than being balanced for a temporary casual mode. And honestly i could see a balanced version of this being less fun if it slowed the game down too much.
I mean it seems alright but i rather wait till it comes before judging, however mmr needs to be turned off for this mode or else its gonna be a pain. Also playing this video on mute during the gameplay of fog whisperers is honestly something i needed to do

The only thing you need to know about these devs thought process is when you look at huntress abillitys. She is faster without hatchets but they also give her more hatchets lmao. Peak BHVR moment.
That mode would be WAY better if there were some perks automatically in play for the killers. like the nerfed Ruin if survivors run off a gen, or making overcharge basekit for any gen kick. Spending time to kick a gen should be rewarded majorly since now it's going to be such a waste in this game mode. They should've added some killers like Clown or Chucky to this mode as well. Would be hilarious to be having chucky sprinting everywhere all the time and jsut wreck peopole while clown bottles light em up
The perks are meant to make you stay near your teammates... With 8 survivors and 2 killers survivors will always be recieving buffs while the killers suffer if they stay close to each other as they lose map control and gens fly with so many survivors These devs do NOT play their own game
I hate the fomo tactics of making it limited at first. If it needs more time until its ready, then wait more time. If it needs beta tested, do it on the PTB.
The worst part is neither side were represented properly, these players are awful, especially the killers, it was like watching a baby trapper and the other was just meh. And it was still a survivor landslide (2nd game doesnt even count the survivors couldnt have tried harder to not do gens) +idk why but something about these streamers picked, they were insufferable. A blade of grass moves and its "ahhhh oh mwy gwaaddd (*insert bad kinky joke about being slapped or stomped on by killer atleast twice per chase)"
I don't see why they couldn't make the objectives more intuitive like instead of doing x amount of generators why not just have a set amount of what could be called ruined generators. Like let's say in place of where totems would normally spawn pick up various parts of the gen then assemble them into the gen using a sort of skill check/puzzle solving mini game. Then you repair the gen to turn it on like normal. I don't even think the maps would need to be enlarged to much to fit just have the entity respawning the pallets to refresh used resources every couple minutes or so. And for an end game scenario have the gates be as they are but either take longer to open and have that requirement to all be powered up to open. Simple stuff bruh
At least, we now got an understanding of who the kind of survivors are, that bhvr is balancing around...

Yeah sadly the killers available are killers i do not like. I imagine a wesker and nemesis team up, a doctor and nurse team up, bubba and billy team up, hell if they ever add predator a predator and xeno team up. I get this is basically a test but hoping in the future when this mode is more balanced and more killers it will be a blast, but i am calling it now, this is gonna be a shit show.

Slugging will go hard with Huntress and Nurse, 8 gens doesn't make sense it's way too fast for 24 stages.
If it was 2 hooks and 8 gens I could see it or 3 hooks and 10 gens but 8 gens is too little

It does say that but it also says "Expose survivors while chainsaw sprinting" Now do they mean expose like the status effect? In that case it would be the same thing as insta down anyway so why even make that change. Altgough they would be exposed for the other killer so maybe that's why, his chainsaw still does the same thing essentially but it's now also good for a team.
Unless by expose they don't mean the status effect and mean you see their aura while in sprint or something.
Either way the power would still be useful just in a wildly different way if it's the second option.
Edit: I just listened to what the devs actually said, they are exposed within a certain range of him when he is sprinting. So unless I'm missing something it's still instant down right? lol It's just now because of the expose and can perhaps help the other teammate already in chase.
Edit 2: Oh yeah I forgot it only effect basic attacks, but does the exposed only last while he is in sprint or does it linger for a bit? So many questions lol
That second match looked SO forced to try to let killers think its a fair game mode lol. No one was on gens for like 8 minutes straight and they were running around like idiots, then once they decided, they finished the last 3 gens super quick. Even with all that, first match 6 escape not even half the hooks, 2nd where it was so forced 5 STILL escaped lol.

I was soooo hyped for that gamemode, finally playing as killer-duo with my friends. But only 8 gens, no slowdown at all + gamebreaking buffs for survivors (e.g. old broken object of obsession) just doesnt make sense at all. Killers will get stomped every game. Slugging is again the most promising strategy cause survivors dont have unbreakable-like effects in this mode. And slugging 8 players is way easier than getting 24 hooks until 8 gens are done. Probably a billy zooming across the map exposing everyone + huntress for slugging them is going to be the most effective combo

Absolutely insane, i like the concept but how in the world are you supposed to win as killer? This is braindead easy. You can chase up to 2 survivors at a time so 6 of them can be on gens at a time?

This game mode does look like its going to be fairly survivor favored
Easy;
-Reduce the cooldown on things like (Gen kick, Hit and Swipe animation, vaulting, pallet breaking, hooking)
-Make kicking a Gen more powerful
-After an X amount of time has passed or hooks established, make killers be able to one shot survivors for a durations of 20 seconds
I feel these changes are easy to implement, I also have an idea of making to where survivors die on 2nd hook but are able to come back into the match if survivors do a ritual or something.
That survivor that has come back is only perma exposed and on insta death hook
Damn. I was looking forward to seeing what sort of crazy combinations of killer powers this mode would have, but we're only getting a few of the simplest ones... I know the devs have set the bar so low it's more like a decorative inlay in the floor, but I still had some hope for this mode.
So my take is this:
what i was hoping for was the option to fight alongside a fellow killer after years of 1 killer VS the world in this 2v8,
for me and my teammate to pick any killer we want,
discovering which 2 killers have good Synergie with one and another,
pick any addons and perks we want,
Basically like a normal trial but with more players.
Instead we get:
only the first 5 original killers are available,
8 survivors with their classes but lets be honest many will pick just escapist and/or scout
8 gens need to be done instead of 10 (5 gens when its 4v1 so it should be 10 gens for a 2v8)
no gen slowdowns
3 exit gates and 2 hatches
Killers do get the team buff and basekit buffs which dont sound that great
survivors can still open chests for toolboxes/flashlights/etc
Conclusion:
I know they're just testing it so Ill try to keep an open mind but I'm not excited for this

I couldn't believe people complaining in the comments or even the ones playing saying how unfair is that both killer chase one person or things like that when they were seeing how easy it was for the survs. They finished all the gens and no one was dead, and probably everyone could've scaped if the two that stay didn't look for the hatchs without a logical resaon.

8 Gens probably makes sense from the perspective that killers get some ways to secure pretty fast hooks, namely the instant-hooking and having double-teaming one chase. But I suspect that it ignores that killers are playing without slowdown perks, which are vital to make 5 gens in the base game last more than a few minutes. My gut tells me this would actually be pretty balanced if there was just a base pain resonance or ruin on the killer side to slow down survivors, or maybe a mini corrupted intervention to let the game start in more of a chaotic state.
Still, the mode looks fun, which is by far more important than being balanced for a temporary casual mode. And honestly i could see a balanced version of this being less fun if it slowed the game down too much.
I think base ruin would be good tbh. Always thought a lower percentage base ruin would be good in general.

The only thing you need to know about these devs thought process is when you look at huntress abillitys.

That mode would be WAY better if there were some perks automatically in play for the killers. like the nerfed Ruin if survivors run off a gen, or making overcharge basekit for any gen kick. Spending time to kick a gen should be rewarded majorly since now it's going to be such a waste in this game mode. They should've added some killers like Clown or Chucky to this mode as well. Would be hilarious to be having chucky sprinting everywhere all the time and jsut wreck peopole while clown bottles light em up
The perks are meant to make you stay near your teammates... With 8 survivors and 2 killers survivors will always be recieving buffs while the killers suffer if they stay close to each other as they lose map control and gens fly with so many survivors

I don't see why they couldn't make the objectives more intuitive like instead of doing x amount of generators why not just have a set amount of what could be called ruined generators. Like let's say in place of where totems would normally spawn pick up various parts of the gen then assemble them into the gen using a sort of skill check/puzzle solving mini game. Then you repair the gen to turn it on like normal. I don't even think the maps would need to be enlarged to much to fit just have the entity respawning the pallets to refresh used resources every couple minutes or so. And for an end game scenario have the gates be as they are but either take longer to open and have that requirement to all be powered up to open. Simple stuff bruh
Or have glyphs to spawn in parts to use on gen idk something fun for both survivors and killers
