Botana is the same as palm kernel oil, used it in 2023 a lot for my hair as a cheap alternative and I can say in thickening it helped!!! Big time the raw dark palm oil itself I only stopped cuz of the dark oil can stain my silk pillowcase but seeing this I’m gonna improvise and make a palm kernel oil herbal haircream at home The benefits are awesome for prayers, newborns, stomach and growth/darkening of hair and skin(moisturizing and removes scars etc) I love it . Nice! I love testimonials. So glad it’s making your hair thicker. I’m for sure going to keep using it. I haven’t experienced any staining on my pillows, but I do wear bonnets and my satin pillowcase is of a darker color. Best wishes on your hair growth journey 🙂

LOLLL, no this comment won’t get deleted 😂. See I thought about that when I was editing the video honestly, but Dr. Sebi was held in very high regard by a lot of ppl looking to find alternatives to big pharma and approach life/health more holistically. So I thought I’d include that in this video to show his stamp of approval. But hey, it’s working out pretty well for me so far. Yes!!! Love this for you. I absolutely loved it as a pre-poo. I’ve already recorded that video and will show everyone soon!! Lol my hair was so soft, defined, and shiny. Which brand do you use?
Thank you for sharing this. I've been seeing batana oil a lot lately and decided to purchase after watching your video. I decided to purchase the same kind you are using through the link last week. There are so many scams out there. This company however followed up with an email that had usage instructions and the jar I received also had instructions on it. Hoping this will help thicken my hair and decrease the shedding. The smell is not bad at all! 😊
Awesome! Please let me know how the product works out for you! I applied it to my edges awhile back and definitely think it was helpful. Hope you have a great day!
@@jessicahensonspeaks I used as a pre-poo last Thursday evening and left it in my hair overnight before rinsing and washing the the next afternoon. The smell didn't bother me, but it was a bit much since I slept in a plastic cap. But when I say my hair was soooo soft after rinsing out. I almost didn't want to wash it because I use t-gel shampoo. No worries! My scalp felt great. I only had to wash my hair twice (I have bad psoriasis flare ups and my scalp was a mess last week) where I usually have to wash 3x and even then not all the flakes are out. I conditioned and let air dry for 24hrs then blew the rest dry on Saturday. I cannot believe it, but with one use I've had WAY LESS shedding since last week. I'm going to use as a pre-poo again tomorrow but maybe just let it sit on for a couple of hours and not overnight. *Full disclosure: I do get a relaxer about 4x/yr and 8/1/24 was the last time I got one.
Thank you very much for explaining how to use Batana (solidified) oil. I just received my jar from Dr. Lyfe. I was afraid to use it every other day because it said to leave on for 30 to 60 minutes, then wash your hair or leave it in overnight for best results.
New Subbie here!! Great video!! I love Batana oil! I use the jar kind too. This coming Saturday I’ll be at 20 weeks post relaxer! I only have a relaxer for increased manageability not to have straight hair so I only put heat on it when I do my relaxer. I’m just below bra strap but above waist length. Trying to get to waist then tailbone then bumpkin length! I was getting relaxers every 17 weeks which is 3 times per year. But with Batana oil I think I’ll make it to 26 weeks which is twice per year! It softens my new growth while strengthening the hair shaft strands and moisturizes the scalp very nicely!! This stuff is by far the best hair oil I’ve ever used and I’m an old gal!! I’ll be 55 next month! Because of the smell I also put a little Rosemary oil on my scalp too and massage it in!! Great stuff and even better together!!
Oh and it also naturally darkens the hair!! Another added bonus for anyone who doesn’t want to dye their hair or cover gray. I like my gray but I’m OK with this darkening it because it’s a natural oil and not a chemical! By the way, I use it about every 3-4 days or twice per week on hair and scalp as a leave in!! But I don’t shampoo often and Batana oil not only moisturizes but aids in scalp cleansing…..thus the pre poo. I may get the liquid oil to use as a pre poo but I like my solid in the jar for my leave in!!❤

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear this. Pls do check with her physician. Alopecia areata can be caused by many things, but the result is usually inflammation in the hair follicles. I'd recommend incorporating food and supplements that reduce inflammation. Olive oil is anti-inflammatory so if she is not allergic, perhaps gently massaging her scalp a few times a week may help. I do have a video on my channel that goes over foods that help aid in hair growth and alleviate dandruff. If interested you could check that video out here: ruclips.net/video/XURyrHzluhQ/видео.html. I bought one from Botanix and it says to put it in your hair then rinse it out. Is that the pre-poo you’re talking about? I wanted to use it like a regular oil in my hair. Thank you! Your video was extremely helpful.
That’s actually tomorrow’s upload 🙂. So I used the Batana oil as a pre-poo, shampooed , and then still followed up with a deep conditioner and honestly my hair looked so good! I was actually surprised at the hydration and definition my hair had compared to when I just shampooed and deep conditioned without a pre-poo and I’ll show that in the video. Honestly I would still use a deep conditioner bc that’s my standard, I don’t want to skip step and then find out my hair needs more moisture. But I don’t think my hair was stripped even after using it.
Thank you for this video I just got my batana hair oil today I use it without reading it said leave on 30 min. Then rinse but I hear it can be use as a regular hair leave in oil?
My hair is a bit shorter than yours and I just received my Batana oil. The goal is waist length hair by this time next year. My growth has kinda hit a plateau and I’m retaining my length, but no more growth. Hopefully this is the boost I need. I’ve been natural since 2017 and this is the healthiest my hair has ever been🥰 do you ever use heat or wear your hair straight?
I feel like my hair hit a plateau earlier this year. But I do feel like sometimes it’s hard to tell with my shrinkage. I hope you find a breakthrough soon. I have only worn a wig once. I rarely use heat on my hair. I may change that in the future. As of right now I have only straightened. My natural hair once. I’ve been natural since 2016. Cut my hair a couple of time
My roots and scalp felt soothed and smooth with one use. I prob started noticing for real hair growth after two weeks, but I combined this product with scalp massages

Hey!! That's great. Thanks so much for watching and welcome to the community 🤍. The solid form of batana is my favorite. I use it in two different ways. I use it as a scalp oil. When I use it like that I leave in for multiple days/ weeks until wash day. I have also used it on my scalp AND hair as a pre-poo/pre-shampoo treatment. This I leave in for 30 mins to overnight and then wash my hair. This makes the hair really soft and makes my wash day go smoother. So in short, it doesn't have to be rinsed out immediately, unless that's what you choose to do 🙂. Hope this helps!
You think this would be good to put on your scalp before working out? Just wondering if it would absorb deeper into the skin if I put a little in before going to my hot yoga class? Also wondering if it has a strong smell, if it would disturb my classmates?
Hey Fiona, thanks for watching 🤍. I think applying this before working out is great and makes sense. When we work out, we improve our blood flow. Our scalp is porous and absorbs what we put on it so if you mix that improved blood flow it should have positive impacts on our scalp. So I definitely like how you’re thinking and it’s a good idea. The smell isn’t too strong and I put it all over my scalp.

Batana oil originates from the American palm tree. Palm oil is also comes from the same tree species. From what I saw online, I believe it is the same thing 🙂 I know another name for it is ojon oil as well
It can help with those who have alopecia. If completely bald and the hair follicles are no longer active, I’m not sure if this alone will activate the follicles, but you could always give it a try. Please check out the article links in the description box so you can learn more about Batana to see if it’s solution you’d like to try. Thanks for watching 🙂
I’ve used it daily and didn’t have any problem with build up. My scalp is probably a bit more dry than most people. But my scalp absorbs it and it doesn’t cause build up . Good question 🙂
Do you need to wash it out your hair ? I can’t remember the name of the one I brought but I got it off Amazon and it says it’s a hot oil treatment but I thought you could just use it as hair oil without washing it
Hi Jordan, you can use it as a hot oil treatment on your hair and scalp. That I’d recommend leaving in for 30 minutes to overnight. Botana is the same as palm kernel oil, used it in 2023 a lot for my hair as a cheap alternative and I can say in thickening it helped!!! Big time the raw dark palm oil itself I only stopped cuz of the dark oil can stain my silk pillowcase but seeing this I’m gonna improvise and make a palm kernel oil herbal haircream at home
The benefits are awesome for prayers, newborns, stomach and growth/darkening of hair and skin(moisturizing and removes scars etc) I love it . I’ll put in back in my routine considering how my hair is almost mid back.
Nice! I love testimonials. So glad it’s making your hair thicker. I’m for sure going to keep using it. I haven’t experienced any staining on my pillows, but I do wear bonnets and my satin pillowcase is of a darker color. Best wishes on your hair growth journey 🙂
@@jessicahensonspeaksyeah perhaps you are using the white one instead of the black. In Africa here it is white and black palm kernel oil. I prefer black cuz I feel more potent which has the vitamin e etc cuz the white one is extra bleached. I might try it don’t know yet, love the black type
Hmm the one I’m using is a deep brown as shown in the video and is sourced from Honduras, but there are many types and names of palm oil
@@jessicahensonspeaks probably been bleached a bit, original be black.as burnt as it is.some be brown too when pouring etc like it’s some undertone but from the smell you’ll know if it’s original or mixed/not made well.
@@jessicahensonspeaksI also bought the oil directly from Honduras. I bought it about 3 years ago. I haven’t been using regularly but recently revisited it and I really don’t know why I stopped using it! Thanks for sharing.
I hadn’t heard about this until recently. Glad I did as been doing some research and decided to start using (solid form) as my hair has been breaking and shedding. I’ve decided to add to black castor oil & Amla oil - mix for a double boiler method - to add to diy rosemary hair spritz. Thank you for your video and recommendation.
You are definitely speaking my language when you mention Jamaican black castor oil, alma, and DIY rosemary sprays. I do all of that!! Literally lol. I’m sorry to hear your hair is going through a rough patch. Hopefully the ingredients you mentioned work for you with consistent use 🤍. Thanks for watching
Don't think that's real batana oil 😅 it should be brown not green but the refined oil you have might be good. I got mine from Kuri Nüka, first time trying it and I'm obsessed. I also got their derma roller because it's supposed to stimulate new hair growth or something - whatever it is it's working!! Need to get myself an affiliate link at this point lol I've been putting all my friends on it, love love love it

I bought the Batana brand Stylista from fb and it has zero batana in it and it’s from China and is very sketchy. Please be careful who you buy from.
Yes I’ve heard about fake brands. I’m sorry you received one, I like buying products off Amazon for easy return if needed and in person. The Batana I purchased works well for me.
You gotta make sure it says Honduras.
Youre telling the truth. I just received mine from the same company and it had no batan at all. I will not order from them again.

I recently bought mine from Amazon UK. After opening, it said made in China, not impressed.
I love love this oil ! This is the only oil that give me some great slip, moisturize and it don't make my scalp itch. I keep this on stock girl I don't play with my oil. If I want a thicker consistency I will mix it with Shea butter or grease ( blue magic the castor oil one). I got mine from Esty.

hey dear, the Batana oil im using does not have to be washed out. i leave it in my hair for about 5 days before washing again. My hair smells just fine. My hair is short, only about 1 inch long if it matters. people rub it on their hair and even skin as necessary as its needed.

Ok...FULL DISCLOSURE...I just bought a jar of Batana Oil and have started using it...I'm eager to see the results.....BUT..I just find it funny at time interval 0:42 a bald guy says "this WILL make your hair grow!" Apparently he ran out 😜Sorry...probably gonna get deleted for this but I couldn't resist! 🤪🤪
If you sift through the comments, some ladies have said it’s worked out well for them (and they’ve been using it wayyy longer than I have). Lol I get where you are coming from tho. Hope you see some results 🙂
I was thinking the same thing. 😂

Yes!!! 🫰🏾🫰🏾🫰🏾Yall definitely subscribe 🙂 More content to come 🤍🤍. Thanks Elle !
I may get the liquid oil to use as a pre poo but I like my solid in the jar for my leave in!!❤
@@dr.sherryleonard-foots4200 Oh I love this!! Yes I’m trying to get waist length hair too. Batana oil does make the hair soft. I just washed my hair yesterday after undoing my twists and I decided to use Batana oil as a pre-poo just coating my hair with it and when I rinsed out my hair, my hair looked soooo defined, I had very little shedding, and my hair felt strong. (Stay tuned for that upload 🙂) I definitely recommend putting the Batana butter across both of your textures and putting on a plastic cap. Although the fractionated form would be good for this too. I’ve been incorporating other new things into my hair care routine bc I’m currently on a 3 month hair growth challenge, but my hair looked amazing yesterday when I washed it!! I’ll keep using Batana butter on my scalp, but the pre poo won me over completely lol. Also thanks for subscribing 🤍🤍🤍, welcome to the community 🙂

Hi there I use wild growth oil .. is the botana oil better ? Pls help 🙏☺️
I use wild growth oil as well actually lol. I wouldn’t say one is necessarily better than another one. But I do use wild growth oil more often on my scalp. Batana oil is great for hot oil treatments and pre-poos
@@jessicahensonspeaks thanks 😊 and are they the same or similar in ingredients?
@@martasalvi8152No, Batana oil is and should only be batana oil. Wild growth has a variety of oils in it. Hi and thanks for the video. I am one of those with a VERY sensitive scalp that doesn’t take kindly to too much water, so do you have any suggestions on what I can use daily for the liquid in my l.o.c routine?
Hey Marie! Have you tried aloe vera juice? Maybe that could help. I personally use a DIY hair spritz - it starts out with water but it ends up being a tea mix.
Does it have to be rinsed out of your hair at all ? Like can I use it to grease my scalp while it’s braided ?
Yes.. I never rinse mine, just have to walk around smelling like burnt coffee lol

I hope this work my daughter has Alopecia areata and is losing all her hair it soo sad 😩
I think it'll work. My baby had a similar problem and it helped. Again check with doctor if your child has a nut allergy.
That’s the pre-poo method. But I also leave it in my hair and scalp during the week, so I use it as a hair oil too
Using it as a prepoo, would you recommend also conditioning after washing it out or would the Batana oil replace the conditioner entirely?
That’s actually tomorrow’s upload 🙂. So I used the Batana oil as a pre-poo, shampooed , and then still followed up with a deep conditioner and honestly my hair looked so good! I was actually surprised at the hydration and definition my hair had compared to when I just shampooed and deep conditioned without a pre-poo and I’ll show that in the video. Honestly I would still use a deep conditioner bc that’s my standard, I don’t want to skip step and then find out my hair needs more moisture. But I don’t think my hair was stripped even after using it.

Hi Jo! I used Sensationnel X-PRESSION PRE-STRETCHED CROCHET BRAID - 3X JAMAICAN TWIST 36" in the color 1b. I cut the hair to my desired length. Here's the amazon link (amzn.to/3wZx056). However I did get mine out of a local beauty supply store.

If i’m using as a pre-poo should i still use it 2-3 times per week? (shampooing my hair 2-3 times a week)
I think you should test it out and see how your hair reacts. I use it about once a week. Thanks for watching 🥰
But which one is the correct one to buy , bc they have a lot of different one on the market.???
I personally love the one in my description box, but it’s currently sold out :/
I recommended another brand to you all as well in a couple other of the comments. I posted the link in those comments. Let me know which one you end up trying 🙂. Thanks for watching 🤍
Do you have to wash it out after applying or can I leave it in?
You don’t have to wash it out. I like to use it as a scalp oil during the week. It’s also nice as a pre-poo an hour to a day before washing your hair
Can it help grow back a bald spot from braids
I personally have not had a bald spot, but this has helped to thicken my thin edges. Some other ppl in the comments have testified to this helping with their alopecia and decreasing shedding. Pls do read through those comments 🙂
my hair is normally quite think but its thinning at the center. Maybe age, stress, idk. Im 43. so im using batana, only one month now. however im not too sure this is a pure product. It look much less gritty than Dr. Sebi's, which I prefer.
I just received my order and there are no real instructions on how often to use or how long to leave on hair before rinsing it out. Help!!
So you can use it in a variety of ways. You can use it as you would a scalp oil (leaving it in), you can use it as a pre-poo (leaving in for a few hours to overnight), or you can use the solidified form as a hair butter. It’s a natural product and you can decide how long to leave it in. It won’t cause damage. When you do wash your hair, make sure to shampoo. Hope that helps! 🙂🤍
Hi so the babe you put it’s available anymore. Do you have another suggestion?
Hi! Yes I realize the one I purchased and loved from amazon is currently sold out. I'm not sure when they will restock, here's an alternative that may work for you: amzn.to/44ZDxcv
Could I use it on my beard? 🤔
Yes, it's a natural product that is safe for topical use. Always do a patch test first just to ensure you aren't allergic. Thanks for watching 🙂
Can I use for beard growth?
Yes! You certainly can. This is a topical product safe for hair and skin. Thanks for watching!
@@jessicahensonspeaks no problem, pleasure was mine
What is the price
Can you look on the bottle and see where that is manufactured?
The solidified form of Batana says “The country of origin: Honduras” . That’s all it says, nothing about manufactured. Hope that helps
