I appreciate the stress and graft of getting structural metalwork of this scale installed. What I dont get is why leave the main steels as a bulkhead/downstand? The cost of lifting them flush with the downstairs ceiling is a tiny % of the total job and would clean up a shadow line for that inner space. Keep going strong chaps.👍
Architects have gone mental. These steels would support the Empire State Building.
Top work lads. 👏🏼
thanks pal 🫡
Top job boys 🎉

Nice Ryan 🙌🏻 out of interest can you remember what the bolts had to be torqued upto? NM
that’s wayne’s job he knows i’ll find out tomorrow and let you know…. we also weld all are connections as well
Yea sound mate 👍just out of interest that’s all 🙌🏻
Great work Ryan that looked a ball breaker. You beat me to that we done one similar last year and got it welded as well. Did you have them stippled washers and have to torque the bolts ?
yes mate had to torque it all
You need Eddie Hall and Brian Shaw as Labourers these days 😂
😂😂😂😂
I'm surprised that didn't make you do all that stupid ground beam steels as well that the engineers love to specify these days.
Capeneter & Joiner here, we did a loft conversion years ago and the engineer specced 102 weight steel for the ridge steel & the steel supplier was saying its got to be a mistake this steel would hold up a 10 storey block of flats, this will be a special order LOL so I argued with the engineer & he then agreed to halve the weight.
The last couple of loft conversions we done the steel work has been absolutely mental ridiculous.
The steels they specifying now weigh more than the whole fuxking house, which is a nightmare for customers with the price of steel now.
we do a lot off lofts and we have had the same problem especially when it’s hard to get them in becomes a nightmare
@@IdealConstructionRyanWalden the last one we did we had tin roof scaffolding & the engineer has specified stupidly massively steels not only for the ridge but hips also & all bolted together, never done one like it before & it was a nightmare with the hips being so wide for our timber work.
But just getting the steels up & in was a manual block & tackle nightmare.
At some point this needs to stop as it's out of control now.
That’s steel gauge is a joke 😲
yes mate it really is

Props off the suspended timber floor?
the props that is taking the back off the house is off a concrete floor which has tiles on.
and the small internal steel which has no brickwork above has been propped off the floor with a spreader timber, so where’s the point load on timber floor pal
👀
😮💨
Anthor good video and top work 🧱 👌 theres some weight in those steels but looks mint with them in forgot you were on at 830 this morning otherwise would watched it you going to be dojng anthor premier again mate 🧱👌
yes mate i’m going to start doing that
and thanks
Get up there boys 💪🔩🔨 lovely job
