Mother’s Day Rainbow Flower Bookmarks or Card ideas - Watercolor made easy

- Let's have some fun with color today, choose all of the brightest and happiest colors in our palettes, and paint rainbows! Your rainbows will make perfect backgrounds for doodling and embellishing with pen, brush pens or more paint. I've cut mine into strips to make into bookmarks, but you could also make some fabulous greetings cards, gift tags or wall art using these ideas.
Today I'm using Baohong paper, White Nights watercolor paints, Uniball white gel pens, Sigma Sakura fineliners, and Poetique watercolor brush pens.
In all my watercolor tutorials, I show you a simple painting for beginners in detail and in real time. By painting along you will learn all the techniques you need to create amazing art. Your watercolor skills will improve quickly when you practice these easy paintings! Whether you want to paint bookmarks, greetings cards, embellishments for junk journals, gifts or ambitious landscapes, you’ll gain confidence and experience by trying my projects.

This is a relaxing one and turned out bright and pretty! I imagine friends would love opening their book and finding one of these marking their place!
I LOVE IT!!! I love everything about it. I am an artist, but watercolor and doodling are new to me. I am learning watercolor and learning to doodle and just “let go” as I have Essential Tremor Disorder. Just for FYI short…my fingers shake! The only thing that can calm them is to NOT USE my hands. The more I use my hands in a small time frame like cooking or art or even blow drying my hair, the worse the tremors get. To the point that I cannot write anything. Even my name. My penmanship was always something a person would comment on, saying how beautiful it was. This has been hard for me. BBBBUUUUTTTTT…people like you show me that I can doodle and paint without perfection. The main points of art are still there, composition, color, depth, story, emotion,….etc. THANK YOU!!!! My doodles may be wonky. But I’m trying. Thank you so much!!!!💜

Just watched this and love it. It gave me so many ideas like using the blues and darks to make a sky with stars and a moon and tree silhouettes. Also fall colors and do leaves and pumkins and etc. Plus pastels and on and on and on. Thank you for the ispiration.

Who doesn’t need these in their lives!!! I’m going to try to put them in mine!!! OUCH! I’m a”my imagination” on some paintings. Some where you forget to breathe! Did the cartoon imagination on my birds and they were so fun and quick! You are so right! Loved Loved Loved this tutorial for many reasons. If I can just put my color down and leave it alone!! It's late here in West Texas, but this tutorial was so soothing and relaxing,,,good way to end my day.

Usually, if I’m being good, I have a self healing mat on my desk, which I can cut on with no problems. Or I might have had a piece of cardboard on the desk, something that I didn’t mind throwing away, or sometimes I use corrugated plastic sheeting.
