    So I have a laptop, I wan't to connect a Ethernet cable and it doesn't come with a port for it stock.
    Meaning I have to buy an adapter, they have adapters that work on USB 3 or USB C to Ethernet.
    I was wondering which would be better and faster.
    I still don't have a clear idea on which one that is, even after watching multiple videos.
    If you could help I would be very happy :P

      Maybe you also have to make sure that the USB port is the USB port for data not the USB port for just power in. Then yes the USB to Ethernet adapter should work the limits on the adapter will be that of the chip inside the adapter, the USB or the networking equipment used between devices. The slowest part deciding which the speed is.

    Hello Team , I hope everything is going smoothly for you. I have a puzzling situation to discuss. I recently bought Apple Type C headphones, and they function perfectly with my iPhone 15 and Android device Mi 11X. However, I'm facing an issue with compatibility on Mi 11X Pro, despite both phones being from the same brand and having the same USB output. Could you help me understand the reason behind this? Additionally, I'm contemplating purchasing a Nothing Phone 2, so I would appreciate it if you could check the compatibility with these headphones on the Nothing phone as well, if possible. and could you explain why this headphone is compactible with some android phones and some are not, even in same brand.

    Hello, thanks for the video, I have a question for you, I have a dock with male USB C, but my 2017 MacBook Air does not have a type C port, it only has USB A 3.0 and a thunderbolt 2.0. How can I connect it? Is it enough to put an adapter such as USB A male to USB C female and will some features be lost?

    • @caminstol2473
      @caminstol2473 Год назад +5

      USB cables can support any generation of USB. Wires are just copper wound together and insulated, and multiple wires create a cable. The same cable can usually be used even between USB Type-A, Type-B, Mini USB, etc. It's only limited by the _amount of wires_ within the cable.
      If a cable is manufactured with only the amount of wires to support a 3.1 connector and connect it to a 3.2 connector, it will limit the data transfer rate but will still work. If you have a cable for 3.2, it will support anything in the older generations.
      To answer your question: 3.0, 3.1, and 3.2 do not use the same cable but the difference is only the number of wires.

      If your laptop says it has USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 but doesn't explicitly state Thunderbolt 3 support, it probably means your laptop has a standard USB-C port with USB 3.1 Gen 2 data transfer capabilities, but not Thunderbolt 3. USB 3.1 Gen 2 and Thunderbolt 3 are both protocols that can use the USB-C connector, but offer different levels of performance and features.

      Different USB host controllers, chipset usually have USB controllers of specific spec, but also CPU can have one which the case of Ryzen for example, plus motherboard manufacture can have extra once for more ports and they can be better then what chipset have. USB 3.x controllers are more expensive so some manufactures add 2.x controllers for more ports to cut cost as most PC devices just need 2.0 to function in full capacity.

      Yes, 3.2 cable that works with 2x2 only means all pins connected on both ends, as it required for that mode, 3.1 use only half of them

      So they renamed usb 3.1 to usb 3.2 gen 2... so technically my pc's back I/O 3.1 USB ports are... 3.2 gen 2? But I have four front I/O USB ports: two 2.0 & two 3.0; 3.0 was renamed to 3.2 Gen 1...
      I recently updated my BIOS so this might be the case and I'm answering my own question.
      gawd damn, they made the name so fking confusing

    • @ShadowriverUB
      @ShadowriverUB Год назад

      2x2 uses 2nd set of high speed 3.x pins of usb-c which are there for easier implementation dual side nature of USB-C to get extra speed, so it's like PCIe X2. And yes there also 2x1 mode. Technically it stil gen2 signal from 3.1 just dual chanell
