UPDATE: There are two screw holes underneath the clicks of the viper v2 pro pcb inside of the zeromouse. Definitely screw the screws of the viper v2 pro (there are 4 screws in total, 2 of them are on the top shell on the clicks) into those holes while putting a bit of pressure onto the pcb. You need to bend the clicks a bit to reach the holes with your screwdriver. It makes the click feel much better and consistent and also the mouse clicks work now when using the mouse wired. Also I noticed a bit of irritation at the edge of the mouse where my pinky finger is because it's a bit sharp. But putting a bit of my own cut griptape onto that edge has resolved that issue completely. Last but not least, using a 100 mah 3.7v battery and sticking it at the back of the mouse helps with the weight balance tremendously. Links on everything you need are in the video description. You have to solder the cables of the battery onto the 3 pin cables yourself though and protect the soldered parts with a heatshrink that you have to heat up carefully with a lighter or a heat gun.
Great review! You covered everything anyone interested in the drop could want to know very well. I wish Optimum had put some vertical supports on at least the rear grip points to reinforce the mouse from flexing inwards while gripping it, a small extrusion extending the height of the mouse placed perpendicular to the grip would likely provide the support to make the pads super secure while maybe only adding 1 gram. Might also help with those who gamer rage, but as you pointed out they got bigger problems.
Great and detailed! I will DEFINITELY try to get this tomorrow (I also own pretty much every pure fingertip grip mouse). The slanted sides are definitely what makes this much interesting!
Is that obsidian dots on the zerømouse? Thanks brother, hope I will get one in hand@@MorrTex Btw. I chopped up a Viper V2 Pro... I agree, do not do it.
I just kinda hate how Optimum went about this mice, though, because while I TOTALLY understand wanting to make money on this, his excuses to do so felt kinda "gate-keepy" and one of the lines was "I dont think the average printer could bring it to this quality" not the exact quote but along those lines. Thats just kinda a silly excuse, like just say you want to sell this and not walk around eggshells to maybe make yourself look better? I dont know I just disliked his approach but I love him over all and what he does
It wasn't gate keepy at all? He didn't release the print because he spent months working on it, its that simple - he just didn't say so. He's also right about the average printer just not being good enough, the material you use will determine how the mouse feels, not to mention the lack of skates etc.
23mins and 45 seconds well spent! Awesome video and breakdown comparing the ftip options ❤🔥 Shame you cannot seem to use it wired. Hoping I can get my hands on one, would be so disappointed if I can't but it is what it is!
I have no idea why some of these ftip mice are wider at the front than in the rear. It's complete opposite of how our fingers work. Every time you grasp your hand, pinky is put more outwards than ring finger. So naturally mice should be wider at the rear than at the front. Same goes with standard mice with hourglass shape. They flare out towards the front which makes pinky sit in a narrow part so we have to force it in. Mayby thats just me but I don't get it, It feels so uncontrollable and uncomfortable at the same time.
I know nothing about scroll wheels, but how easy would it be for someone to MOD a lower profile scroll wheel? I'm assuming that it's the physical rotation that actuates the wheel and has nothing to do with the outside diameter?
Good question, unfortunately I have no idea about scroll wheel encoders and which ones would be compatible soldering on the v2 pro pcb and if they could be lower height. Maybe there are tutorials regarding scroll wheel encoders, look it up perhaps
I also have the Razer viper mini and I have also sanded the plastic around the sensor, have you also done it because that plastic bit is higher than the actual skates? Also is that the case with all units or only some?
Great deal = 69+shipping + mouse 130 and overall one weird mouse for 200+ euros without any warranty, because you disassembled Razer, for the same price you can buy Vaxee wireless + XM2we.
If you get a used v2 pro for 60-80 euro which I would highly recommend, together with the zeromouse you're at around 140-150 dollars total. A vaxee wireless xe costs 140 dollars as well. But the zeromouse is far better for fingertip grip and has much better internals up to 8khz (if you get a used hyperpolling dongle for 20 bucks) with much lower motion and click latency even on 1khz. This is an enthusiast mouse solely targeted to fingertip grip, but man it's good really
@@MorrTexYea people don't realize this isn't a mouse meant for the average gamer, and it's from the ground up not meant to target that. It's meant for the enthusiasts who love to mod and tweak their own hardware and chase for pure optimization to maximize performance regardless of cost or risk.
@@ShyvorixI’m also assuming Optimum is running this whole operation on his own (outside of printing). This isn’t a large company mass producing thousands of these everyday with their own internals. Of course it’s going to cost more.
@Emil-sh6sq Yea I don't remember if he is producing them himself but it would be infuriatingly slow if using just 1 printer. I believe it is contracted outside but yea the design is very iterative and took a long while to borderline perfect. The price may be slightly steep but he is at the end of the day allowed to charge whatever he feels is worth it. And considering he doesn't take any sponsorships (he should really do a patreon though if he hasn't already) he doesn't exactly make fuck you money from RUclips lol.
@@Shyvorix Pretty sure he decided to outsource the printing since he couldn’t get the desired quality at home. I think he also stated that this is the reason he’s not just releasing the 3D model, which I saw some people complain about, but if I came up with a good design and knew i could make some money selling it I would probably do the same.
My guy what the fuck did you expect for something this thin and light? Even if it was made out of solid fucking aluminum it would still flex because it's sacrificing structural integrity for maximum weight trimming.
@@velqt I used a 150mah battery on mine and it's down to 27g. I don't think that's "absurdly overweight' considering it's the largest of the fingertip mice. Sure, you could probably get it to 23-25g with a lighter material/structure overhaul, but saying it's "absurdly" overweight at 27g (smaller battery) is actually the absurd part.
I am gonna give both you and optimal each 150 bucks if I don't have to use Razer hardware or software ok? just take the money and get that thing away from me

Yes I also do not understand that in terms of hand ergonomics haha
Any followup? do you think it was worth the price? how is the inside after constant use?

When you press the mouse a bit harder into xsoft mousepads you can feel the sensor ring rubbing against the pad, that's why
when i push force to dig into the mousepad look like the sensor stop working TT (only cloth pad , the glass pad works fine)
is this normal?
Try higher LOD in razer synapse or a pad that isnt too soft
