Ruidoso After the Fire. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly!

Taking a run on the XR650L from Alamogordo to Ruidoso. Checking things out after the June fires and floods. There is still plenty to and businesses are up and running. We also run through some of the fire and flood affected areas.

That creek was nice and the church,impressive.That was a terrible fire.They were cleaning up that motel,but it doesn't look like they've done anything in the neighborhood.I wonder if or when they will rebuild

Ya, I don't know how they would even start. I noticed small signs at some of the home properties indicating the hazmat cleanup status, so I don't think it as simple as just bulldozing and starting over. Also, many of those home are really old and paid off long ago. With the way home values have increased I wonder if people aren't going to get a big insurance windfall and not rebuild. Probably sell the property to commercial entity and call it a day, I just don't know.
