    worth noting that the HH faq 1.1, the death guard may replace anyone that comes with a powerfist can now also take a power scythe.
    +(Death Guard Legion Specific Wargear (Page 70)
    Under the heading Power Scythes, replace the first sentence with the following:
    Any character or Independent Character with the Legiones Astartes (Death Guard) special rule which is equipped with a power fist may exchange
    it for a power scythe for no additional cost.)
    the Tyrant terminators can now also fire the combi bolters as well as launchers in the faq.
    +(Tyrant Siege Terminator Squad (Page 20)
    Under the heading Wargear, add the following:
    Note that models may fire their combi-bolters in addition to their cyclone missile launchers in the Shooting phase.)

    On the firedrakes: I’ve found that using fists instead of hammers on anyone but the sarge (and possibly consul depending on what you get. Remember that for salamanders the sarges and consuls get master crafted which makes the hammer ridiculously good) makes them substantially more affordable, and with a decent transport they make for a fantastic bodyguard, or, if instead you put them with the right consul, deathstar. (And even without the consul they are a nice distraction carnifex.)
    Thing is you really don’t need the hammers. Yes it’s true that fists hit later, but they are so bloody resilient that unless you seriously miscalculated they will take it and dish it right back, plus anything that NEEDS to be hammered can be handled by the sarge due to master crafted.
    Even then I do agree with this list, tho I might have put tyrants and ultrasmurfs on the second line with the firedrakes, just because the thousand sons are THAT broken (I love them but seriously...) but the line was full anyway so I guess it makes sense to push them forth so gulliman won’t cry too much.

    Interesting video!
    How I would try to fix some of them:
    Phoenix - reduce pts; modify phoenix spear profile as follows: Shred; Give them Counter Attack and Chosen Warriors special rules.
    Justarin - reduce pts; maybe give them a WS6 and give them max unit size to 15 instead of 12.
    Varagyr - reduce pts; definitely need Tartaros armour
    Lernaeans - allow the choice between tartaros/ cataphracti loadouts; for Tartaros loadout use volkite charger as base, allow to replace with combi weapons, Multimeltas (special), Heavy Flamers (special) and Plasma Blasters (special); for a Cataphracti loadout volkite calivers as base, plasma cannon (special), volkite culverin (special), conversion beamer (special). Modify conversion beamer profile AP values to 4 and 2 for "up to 18" and "18-42" inches respectively; All loadouts should have power daggers for every model included as base; This can represent their adaptation for different roles AND allow to kit them out differently as an excuse for an AL player like myself to take more of them for my lists :P
    Crimson paladins - reduce pts; allow shields to grant extra protection against missiles; make tartaros
    Ebon Keshig - I think the joining units part should be modified on at least one WS character or allow you to give that rule to a praetor.
    Fulmentarus - reduce pts.
    Sekhmet - increase pts; remove telekenesis (or whatever that makes them broken when it comes to being cataphracti and not suffering any penalties)

    I just played in a tournament with three (1 Tartaros + 2 Cataprachtii) Sekhmet squads (2x Biomancy + 1x Telekinesis) and i placed 4th *last. Sekhmet are not really that strong.* If you have bad luck in rolling psychic powers, you will have just normal 2 wound terminators that are very expensive. Also with +3 invul it does not really make them much better than other terminators with just storm shields, especially Tartaros + Storm Shield. The Guard of the Crimson King rite of war is very limiting (i ran with it). Not to mention that deep striking is almost always a huge risk and if you get -1 to your reserves you might be coming only by turn 4 and doing something maybe by turn 5.

    • @CloneDAnon
      @CloneDAnon 5 лет назад

      Even if you get iron arm + endurance or warp speed + endurance for your Sekhmet you can cast it only on a single squad and the enemy can simply ignore them with faster unit. Otherwise Sekhmet are very poor in close combat and can get tarpitted easily. The 3++ invul is nothing special really compared to a Tartaros with a Storm Shield. Also you did not mention how limited and costly the Guard of the Crimson King rite of war is for the bonuses it provides. You wont be very mobile with that rite of war and lacking vehicles. BTW Space Wolf Varagyrs can get the Frost Claw + Power Fist combo for extra attack and tactical flexibility. Also Fulmentaris can get power fists instead.

    • @chazgrahem5130
      @chazgrahem5130 3 года назад +2

      Terminators make up some if not all of the first company of the space marine chapters being veteran warriors or well decorated marines. As terminator armour is much more difficult to manuver in and only a skilled space marine will be able to pilot one of these suits of armour. Plus the first company is usually present where the fighting is the thickest or are tasked with a task of high strategic importance so will need the highest protection possible. Each chapters unique terminators usually represent the absolute elite of the chapter normally being the direct body guard of their primarch or lead into battle by the captain of the first company. Each unique terminator unit will be armed with specific war gear that will fit their role with in the legion which will change depending on legion. Hope this helps and happy wargaming.

    SUGGESTION for this series that I think could be weirdly compelling: Use an example of "WAACfaggotry" as a means to highlight and do a deep dive into the concept of integrating multiple systems together to produce army synergy. Not in a way that promotes the bad behavior of WAACin' it but more as an ironic lens into just how deep things can go combining this unit with that rite and that consul and blah, blah, blah, etc in a "case study"/anaecdotal kind of format so you don't wade too far into that realm and lose your mind and soul in the process. Plus, I love the it when you drop salt on the "winning first-passion last" mindset.

    I'm not sure I agree with the Crimson Paladins.. They have power weapons and only a max of 2 guys can *upgrade* to power fists for 20 points each!! they're overpriced and they only get their bonuses in combat... they're literally worse than normal terminators.. 1 wound each except for the serg, otherwise same stats as the normal 'nators... they don't have guns unless you upgrade to give a single guy a ranged weapon which is worthless.. there is no redemption for the fact they literally have nothing to make them good, not to mention the lore... they technically shouldn't be seen on the field as they're just meant to guard blood angel hallways and fancy stuff, not people, they never see war. They were Anuj's "sorry I'm refusing to give you Sanguinary Guard or Azkaellon" and his middle finger to BA players at the same time.

      The ability to lower the strength of incoming attacks is huge, and when paired with FnP it is amazing. Combine that with the literally insane Blood Angels Legion Traits and they are very very choppy. That was my main line of thinking with their ranking.

    Ultra marines make me sick as a legion. Boring, to generic.
