Watching this I want to tell you to look under the rubber grip material.

Did you try reseating those ribbon cables, they are notorious for bad connections when dampness gets in, it does not need much to stop the tiny amount of voltage/current going through those. With some video cameras, all you have to do is take out 1000 or so screws, reseat all the ribbon cables and away they go.
On the other hand, if you do that and nothing happens it will be a fuse-able resistor, look for a 1 ohm SMD.

Yes I also traced it with a Volt meter and found voltage going to the main board but none to the CPU. I tried tracing it back but the SMD's are so many and small on both sides of the main board that I never found one open. I figure for 5 dollars not worth putting many more hours on it so I just completely dissembled it just to see if I could LOL...

@@TheElectronMan I once decided to take something to bits that no one, including me could figure out what was wrong with it. It would offer to run the drop out, this might happen very fast or slow down a bit. I determined the 8Vdc was there on second and not the next. I took it completely to bits, checking each component as I did so. I found an 8Vdc regulator (Zener diode via a coil choke thing to ground) was open circuit at the coil. Not joking, there was at least a dozen guys, some worked with electronics for work. No one found the fault, except me, by the time I found there was no way it was ever going to go together, well, it could have done, but the work involved was just far to much.
I couldn't believe that such a small thing could have caused so much trouble!
I wouldn't have bothered even if I could have gotten the part, it would have taken hours to put it together. Still have all the parts in a box should the fancy take me, but i would never get a part fro the coil anyway. The wire was just super thin and wound by a machine, I doubt I could even work to make a coil with wire that thin.
So the CPU for dead! No power was either a cap or some fuse-able resistor or some surface mounted cap cracked (like they do) or some resistor cracked. Very hard to spot sometimes. Could even be one that has lifted at one end, but you would never see it!

@@BoB4jjjjs Totally agree I am sure it's probably just a cracked or shorted SMD but as you said there is a point to where even if I found it replacing might not be option due to availability and size that is why I just decided to take it completely apart just to see what all was in the camera BTW there is a LOT ! Glad I only had 5 bucks in it and I still have a good lens and nice camera case that came with it....

@@TheElectronMan The lens is worth that anyway!
