Bloodborne has probably the most iconic of the Fromsoft OSTs, some songs kinda blend together, but when you listen to any of them, you *know* it's Bloodborne! Shout out to Lady Maria's theme, it's one of my favorite themes in the game
I believe this plays on just the title screen. I remember booting the game and leaving it to load while i went to do something else, and it scared me because I got loud as hell. Lol
The music in bloodborn is one of the greatest music in the gaming world I advise you to listen to: 1- Laurence the frist vicar ost 2- Father Gascoigen ost 3- Living failures ost
Thanks for reacting to this one! The 'Bloodborne' theme plays on the ending credits, I'm not sure where 'Omen' plays - I think it plays during the auto-cutscene if you don't press start on the title screen. There is a title screen theme though that's called 'The Night Unfurls' (don't think it's been requested though). The game is definitely an action RPG, it's not scary really at all - it doesn't go out of it's way to scare the player like typical horror games. But it does go out of its way to horrify the player, if that makes sense. The setting, theme, story is absolutely 100% steeped in gothic horror but above all, Lovecraftian horror.
Bloodborne isn't necessarily a horror game, but it is like a love letter to classic gothic horror tropes. You fight vampires, werewolves, aliens, and lovecraftian beings beyond your characters perception until halfway through the game A lot of the games environments are overrun with the bodies of the sick and the dead, with most of the people left having been turned into beasts, and things more indescribable. Its not "Aaaahhh, monsters!!" scary, its just extremely gruesome
Yeah, I would definitely recommend Bloodborne for anyone who hasn't played it. Dark Souls 1 is also such a great vibe and a good entry point to the series for anyone intimidated by the notion that "Dark Souls is hard."
@dargons5145 Sometimes, but I'd definitely say it's less meant to be depowering like a Resident Evil or Silent Hill and more empowering. You're the "Hunter," and the beasts are your prey for 99% of the games runtime
@@Dasaltwarrior I feel like it's kinda both in a way. The game very excellently plays with the idea of "who's the hunter and who's the monster" because the combat is a regular back and forth between horrifically getting your ass kicked and horrifically kicking everyone else's ass. The monsters are aggressive, brutal and deadly, but so are you, and even in terms of gear and abilities you find more and more stuff that makes you more like them. You're not the terrified victim but you're not the doomslayer either, you're another killer in a world of killers.
If someone wants to hear where Bloodborne drew inspiration from I suggest a listen to the OST of Bram Stoker's Dracula, track 1 "The Beginning" would fit right in
You atent wrong to call it a horror game....while the gameplay is an action rpg in terms of story, themes, atmosphere and environment it is very much a Lovecraftian Horror game
You already can with the emulator. I have a 3070 and with current mainline beta build you can get 60fps at 1080p. You can get 60fps 4k with a 4090. I've already done 2 playthroughs of it. There is still work to be done as some effects like fog, fire and smoke dont quite render without mods. But by next year expect everything to work 100%.
@astrojeet i think ive heard of that project but it looked awful from the little i saw. I hope they dont release the official version right on top of them finishing the emulator

Cleric beast deserves a video

You are correct, but the full version plays during the attract screen, which is also the games original E3 trailer
Happy Halloween, Jesse!

I mean sometimes it is ahhh monster scary. The game does have a few jumpscare-ish situations.
