A better option - start Alfyn’s chapter 2 and grind on the Road to Caves of Azure. Bring along Tressa with Trade Tempest. Shrine of the merchant is along the way to Goldshore, so turn another character with high elemental attack into your second merchant and give them rest + trade tempest. For grinding use trade tempest over and over, can end each round in 2-3 turns with constant breaks. each round will award about 200 exp and $1000. If you add collects by the two merchants into the mix, you can easily score 3000 per round. And if you unlock Tressa’s divine skill, you can get another $1500-2000 per battle :) I find that grinding that includes high $$ rewards is better since while leveling up you will also be able to upgrade armor quicker too
Honestly, if you want an easy farming spot you go to a level 20 cave near sunshade, the spawn's there are 4-5 monsters each, you will find a cait in no time, use a medium soulstone and badabim-badabum 5 levels
Just in case anyone wants to know another method, head to Carrion Cave with: •Cyrus for his skill Evasive Maneuvers. Also for his elemental attacks. •Primrose for her skill Bewildering Grace which can give you an Experience Boost especially when you x4 boost it.(Also there's an old lady that if you use Allure on will come with you. I recommend bringing her just in case because she has 10 strength. You can find her at the Clearbrook graves.) •Haan'it which he used here but in the beginning equip her with a Golden Axe which you can get in Clearbrook, she'll be able to do alot of damage. (Fight the girl blocking the door near the west entrance and go through the door. I recommend stealing it with Therion instead of buying it. Just keep saving and reloading the game until you get it.) I also recommend going when your at least level 12. I went with that level and a bunch of soul stones. You can steal alot of them from Flamegrace and Atlasdom. I wanted to put this here in case this could help. It was useful for me. I just got the game so I'm still going to try the method in the video though.
I didn't even have to grind, I just explored a bunch of areas to fill out the map, explored some caves, caught some monsters. I'm over leveled now just from exploring and grabbing chests
As someone who finished the game, I recommend exploring the side dungeons as well as cycling out your characters often over straight grinding because the tougher enemies will force you strategize and experiment, both job classes and equipment. If you intend to compete all sidequests and the story, you need to know your way around the game's systems, else you *will* get smacked and demolished for running in without a plan, unless you're _super_ over-leveled (though I ain't too sure if that helps much either).
i found myself overleveled for the chapter 2 quests didn’t think it was a problem till i saw this video, and i didn’t even do much grinding, just ran around doing a few side quests and getting all the secondary jobs unlocked, ended up at around level 30-35 before i even touched the second chapters, the only grinding i really did was spamming bewildering grace for at least 5x jp boost whenever i ran into a cait or felt underleveled for a side quest
For any new players, what I did was just walked between areas instead of fast travelling until I was levelled up, if you're under levelled just walk you might run into people and get some quests done too.
Thank you for this advice. I got this game for my birthday back in March but didn't start playing it until late April. As of yesterday I finished all of the first chapters and even got all of the secondary classes available for my team. I was fortunate enough to hear about the difficulty spike between the first 2 chapters so I've been grinding for experience and money to buy better equipment. I started with Primrose who is currently at level 33, and with the Scholar secondary class she is able to do a lot of damage after the enemies' shields are broken. I actually found that spot you recommended myself, and am trying to get everybody up to at least level 25 before I decide where to go next.
Method 3 : Don't give a shit about the LV and go to chapter 2. There is no need for grinding, the recommended LV is a lie you can pass chapter 2 like 10 LV before it. What you should do is collect the Secondary Jobs getting more fighting options, the bosses in this game can easily be deal with Buff/Debuff and abusing their weaknesses to break them, and I'm not even mentionning the infamous Veteran Soldier with Merchant is honnestly broken for Chapter 2 and even 3.
on my first playthrough, I did not have this problem, cause I only focused on 4 characters. and in my second, where I'm trying to get 100%, I usually made sure at least two characters are above-recommended level (my main traveller Therion was mostly 3-8 lv above), one around that level and the last was like 5 levels under, which I took with me to train in the current characters chapter for their own next chapter. It worked out like 99% of the time. I actually did not have to grind levels, I just used the fast travel less, when my characters needed levels. I scavenged caves and such for loot at well
I just started playing both games on switch, and played the 2nd one first and beat it after so much grinding after getting it handed to me with ochettes boss. I went into chapters unprepared, and either had to fight a boss repeatedly, or grinded hard before I could take them out. Especially with Ochette's, so I came in and decided to grind hard after completing all of the first chapters in the first one. I grinded all my characters to level 30, since level 27 was the highest recommend level for one of the travelers. I was aiming to start at the lowest level one, and work my way up. Rose had the lowest at level 21, but to get to her, you have to get through the winter area, recommended at level 26 to enter. And I got my whole team killed by a polar bear using rampage before I got to her town several times. Not to mention, I had a detour to 3 other places, and got 3 second jobs, including the cleric before I took that trip! That's so bad developement LOL
the recommended level isn’t too far off most of the time, i’ve been able to go into level 50 areas at level 40-ish and still hold my ground (ie no excessive healing or item usage)
I've never had to grind in this game. I just went around and gathered up all eight characters and by the time I was ready to do chapter 2 they were leveled
@@Resobaso can you help? I wanted to know if there are “points of no return” for items and weapons? Like in final fantasy, you get one chance to get the Ject shot or whatever it was called. Can we always go back and get anything we need throughout the game? Just don’t want to miss anything. Thanks!
Just hit one of the caves/dungeons on the outside of a town and save before you battle, def+ mole dance stout wall is a must and maybe reflective veil and this all chapter 1, bewildering grace on primrose until you get exp / up multipliers takes almost no time and I’ve had the exp go 100 times before which easily can be 8+ levels just from fodder
