  • Adirondack Outlaw is the new-for-2021 attraction at Six Flags Great Escape. This thrill ride immediately became the park's best flat ride. This towering attraction offers stunning views of the mountains while also providing a thrilling ride experience. Will this Funtime Vomatron be the next ride Six Flags clones or would that be a mistake?

I think it’s a good addition to the park. Hopefully next year after it been broken in they change the loading process…. I like how six flags went through the effort in getting this ride in. First changing it’s original location and not canceling or postponing it to 2022 because of the pandemic especially with the park being closed in 2020. Nothing has been announced for 2022 so I’m assuming they will skip a year. But I could also see them getting a supergirl style ride 2023 or a water park ride….

I hope they can speed it up in the future too, but I'm not sure what they can do outside of shortening the cycle.

    Best flat ride there tbh
Something interesting is when it was first announced it was meant to be near the comet at the back of the park, however the great escape has a height limit of how tall attractions can be so that’s why it’s near the front
    I’m pretty sure at least

I agree with your analysis of the ride itself, but depending on the cost vs other available attractions, I think it would do great at other Six Flags parks if it was doubbled (ie build 2 right next to each other). I actually found Adirondack Outlaw more intense than the Zamperla version of the Skyscraper, although it's possible that since I'm comparing it to one included with admission (Coney Island) they run a less intense cycle than other Zamperla skyscrapers there.

I wonder if a larger SF park would put in two arms right next to each other operating as a essentially a single attraction, but probably not. It would do a lot towards the capacity problem but obviously substantially increase the cost in the process.

One of the only truly great things about Six Flags over the past few years is how they have been adding excellent flats to their parks. The giant Frisbees are easily in the top 10 attractions among any of the parks they have been added to, and these Vomatrons look awesome. However their capacity is definitely too low for any Six Flags parks outside of Great Escape, its arguably too low for Six Flags St Louis honestly. As far as I'm aware, S&S Screamin' Swings are actually quite pricey attractions but if I am wrong about this and their cost is comparable to the Frisbees, that should be their next cloned attraction to send everywhere. Good flat rides are criminally underrated by coaster enthusiasts, the fact that a ton of enthusiasts go to parks and actively skip the flats is depressing to me, they are such unique attractions and serve to offer people a different experience than a typical coaster. I really hope to see more thrilling flat ride concepts developed, rides like the extinct Sky Swat looked legendary.

First Id say we wait and see how Catwomen's Whip does at Six Flags St. Louis and then I'd say clone it but only at parks that are in desperate need of a new thrill like Frontier City, La Ronde, Six Flags Darien Lake and Six Flags America.

I'm honestly surprised they can make a ride no glasses. What if there's an emergency evacuation required and you're literally blind as a bat? This looks like the only type of this model I'd enjoy. I'm never a fan of unpredictable, violent swinging/spinning and this looks perfect. I'd think any major Six Flags park would need a double or even triple of these sitting next to each other. It really needs 16 PER side otherwise. At least. And a more efficient deck that lowers/raises faster. If it's slow as you say.

    • @CanobieCoaster
