And the angry father in Night of the Seagulls, the final Blind Dead film. In fact, a couple more future Blind Dead actors appear in this film, most notably Jack Taylor.
I think Euro-horror is the genre that *always* works wonderfully for Dark Corners. Seldom for anyone else as they're usually boring to actually sit through, but pure gold for Dark Corners viewers.
I genuinely enjoy them, and I'm so used to the slower pace of old movies. I find them rather peculiar, and the dubbing makes for an even stranger feel, and usually a fairly creepy atmosphere, but that doesn't mean I like all of them, of course.
@@michaelstearnesstearnes1498 I love the fact that in her early 70’s films, she shows the younger actresses she’s still awesome at 40. In Black Candles, everything I said is still true, but change 40 to 50.
"Hey show some respect for the girl I've been peeping on."🤣 This one doesn't look half bad, it's just the right amount of bad. Congratulations on the sponsor Robin.
"Well, that took a dark turn," referring to the child's death. Well, this is Dark Corners. It's right there in the name: Dark and Corners (where one takes a turn).😏
Well, yes and no. Since _orgia_ was originally created as a term for the worship of Bacchus, the sexual implications have always been there, if not technically defined.
The village in the mountains is a nice location but I felt the film played like two stories mashed clumsily together: village of cannibals on the one hand, the vampire stuff on the other. It’s ok I guess.
I, too, noted the lack of an orgy. Perhaps it was lost in translation? Or is it still confined to its native tongue? Sponsor was too appropriate. The hard part for the manufacturer must have been sitting tight for 15 years after discontinuing the product's original run solely so it could them be marketed as "back from the dead after 15 years." Getting Science Advisor his own card was a class act. (I once got my wife her own baseball card, but I think you win.)
The scene with the vampire kids, as well as the all-vampire town, leads me to wonder…Did we ever get a DC of Larry Cohen’s 1987 “Return to Salem’s Lot”?
I unironically love this movie and don't think it's a bad film at all, at least if you like 70s Eurohorror. It's honestly a mixture of 2/3 "30 Days of Night" and 1/3 "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre", with a village of mostly undead lording it over an ever-dwindling handful of local mortals and these poor visitors just wandering into it like a food delivery truck. I thought the thing about the village resting in a valley between two mountains, making it hardly ever get direct sunlight, was an especially great twist and explanation for why vampires can thrive so well there. At the very least, "Vampires Night Orgy" is creepier than the vast majority of what Hammer was pumping out around the same time.
I usually enjoy 70's European horror, but this film is a complete snooze fest. No orgy. Very brief nudity. The only thing I remembered about watching it was that it was a waste of time. Robin makes it more interesting than it really is.
The problem here is that Jack Taylor hadn't yet entered full 70's mode. Once he grew his hair out a bit, and his porn 'tache was fully-realised, THEN things would start cooking ;-)
What I love about old Eurohorror is they did stuff that you never see anymore; internet yabbos today would collectively shit barbed wire and scream for cancellation if a film showed a girl getting suffocated in a cemetery. That being said, one of the most shocking things about Vampires Night Orgy is that, back in the day, one had to reach THROUGH the steering wheel to start a bus. Being a bus driver was never easy!
Orgy: "any actions or proceedings marked by unbridled indulgence of passions" like say a large group of vampires feeding on one guy. "Orgy" can but doesn't always have to do with sex.
Was this film directed by the same guy who directed "Curse Of The Vampire Orgy" and "Screams Of The Cursed Vampire Orgy"? I think it may be if only because those films don't have any orgies in them either.
Your jokes were on fire in this review. Laughed at this review more times than any of your older ones. I have always loved this movie...it's pretty creepy and some good effective scenes. One of the better 70s euro horrors
Thanks to DC every time I see a cute girl disappear around a corner, I shout, " And I'll bring by bloodhounds along!!" But the other people in my anti Fox hunting group really don't like that.
If you thought this was bad Italian horror ( which it is ) you guys need to review BURIAL GROUND it makes VNO look like CITIZEN KANE. Never before ( since ) have I ever seen a semi-midget trying to feel up Mom's boobs.
Actor Jack Taylor was in a few other European horror films like The Female Vampire and Horror Of The Zombies. I saw a cut of the film that was edited. I saw the original unedited version on RUclips and was surprised. There was a feast for the vampires but no orgy.
the 'bus breaking down next to a castle in a storm' trope is one of those things people SAY happens in a lot of movies, but i've only ever seen referenced or parodied, never unironically. like running through an airport at the end of a romcom.
Watched it twice because you had me cracking up and laughing over parts. This looks to be yet another movie I have to get a hold of! Excellent as always!
I think I've watched, or started to watch, this movie three times under different titles. It's like it's trying to stay one step ahead of the word of mouth.
Original copies are getting harder to get one's hands on (at least in decent shape) and ours is showing its wear. But then again, here we are to fix that. :-)
Right when the man's leg was being cut off, my cat's ear hit the screen and an ad popped up: "How would like to open a business in 2023?" No, I don't think so.
Salander? Speaking of which, I wonder if Robin would consider reviewing *The Laughing Woman.* Mondo Macabro released that a year or so ago, and it is surprisingly well done.

Thank you once again for your wonderful channel.
I thought Grave Robbers was RUclips based on their recent treatment of your channel using ancient unearthed video.
That looks like a pretty fun game.
Glad to see Grave Robbers back and supporting DC. Great game for anyone who loves schlock. I’m seriously considering throwing in on this one.
Heh. Played that quite a bit back in the day. Good beer & pretzels game, and right up your alley for certain.
'Title that comes with expectations.' Yes. Expectations that it will not live up to my expectations.
Indeed
It screams "I'm on a whole different website".
Well said.
Lesbian Vampire Killers another title that burned up in the sunlight😢
Great tie in sponsor!! And we MUST make the Science Advisor card a reality! If we need to storm the kickstarter.... I'll bring my bloodhounds along!
Please do storm it! We're at over 80% funded and now have to start thinking about stretch goals.
So if anyone has any ideas...? :-)
I vote for attack cats!
The 'I stand guard.' ... 'I bring my bloodhound along' routine will never get old.
What was the movie that originally had that in it? I thought it was The Lorely's Grasp but I'm not sure.
@@travisshallenberger9486 It is The Loreley's Grasp.
"And my axe!"
Nice, the bus driver also played the ship's doctor on "planet of the vampires"❤

This movie has Helga Line in it so that makes it automatically on par with Citizen Kane.

Great advertisement for Grave Robbers Outer Space! I love how you put your own Dark Corners spin on it. 🙂🙃🙂🙃
Graham and Robin absolutely knocked it out of the park. There were cheers at GROS headquarters when we saw the final draft. :-)

Orgy simply means “secret rites.” This movie looks pretty awesome.
Thanks! That explains that weird church lunch I attended recently.

@@danielgehring7437 Well yes and yes. You're clearly not familiar with this church.

"The Bus of the Living Dead" That sounds like a good film.
