Hey everyone, you're probably here cos the the new remaster/port that was announced for PC,Switch and PS4/5, if so welcome! I'll probably do another short video addressing the new version when it comes out but the run down is that the new version has: - Online Multiplayer (with rollback netcode) - Coach Multiplayer - 60fps (up from 30) - English VO - Higher native resolution art assets for menus and the like - AI upscaled textures (opposed to the really old PSP real time texture upscaler) - Good PC feature support like ultrawide screen ratios etc These updates (especially the first 3) tackle quite a few of my gripes with the original release, the 60 fps should be a big win for an action/fighting game like this and the fact there are a ton of easy ways to play with other people now, without the hassle of stacking emulators and/or using parsec means that the game can better fullfil its purpose as a dumb party fighting game Also switch being an option means that the single player grind is alot more appealing Stay tuned for an update video on my final thoughts when its released
No problem, thanks for making it But yeah I was really surprised there hadnt been any reviews or anything of the game since the geofront patch dropped so I figured I'd slide in and take the spot
I remember when the game first came out I actually imported it. I was so excited even though there was no translation... i dont even know if there was a menu patch at the time... the menu luckily isn't too hard to get through. that all being said i think i played through Adol's story and then stopped... it was fun but like you said grindy and when you can only understand so much it does make things a lot more boring. still happy that you covered it... i have no idea why you kept showing that weird dude with green hair... legit never seen him before.... *run off crying* but yeah good video and looking forward to the occasional sprinkling of Falcom~ keep up the good work!
I'm glad Trails will be getting more love. Persona 5 and Cold Steel got my adult ass back into JRPGs, and now I'm working my way through the Trails series. Just in time for the official releases of Crossbell.
Oh yeah absolutely falcom are slowly but surely getting the attention they deserve I feel like they're in the equivelent of atlus's ps2/ds era with persona 3 and 4, smt 3, dds, devil survivor etc Can really see kuro no kiseki being their equvilent of persona 4 golden Also I'm glad your enjoying trails, not played much of azure yet but zero is very good (especially the last few chapters)
Thanks for playing and reviewing it! It was a fun project to work on, so I'm glad you took the time to do this. The best part of the game, hands down, is Tita getting an entire route for herself. Spamming her orbal cannon to beat every enemy is hilariously funny!
haha no problem (it feels like the whole geofront team is seeing this lol) Yeah Tita getting a route is very cool I love how her satalite laser locks on to people instead of just blasing down theres few seconds where whoever is marked knows there is no escape
if we got another fighting game I think I'd want it to be mostly trails, atleast at first and have a few guest fighters trickle in a falcom musou tho? thats something I want, give me parin from gurumin and mail from popful mail give me all the deep cuts
Everytime I am reminded of how the director of the series literally forgets about Kevin's existence... It makes me not only feels disrespect towards him even more. But it gives me this cynical feeling of "If one of the main guys behind the series... Completely forgets about one of the best written characters in those games... Are we really sure this series is in good hands?" ...I also dont really get why everyone hates Singa so much.
I don't think Kondo actually forgets about kevin is more just a joke that even falcom play into a bit Signa stole all the bees in the world and forged his guitar out of them and they are jealous of his power (the real reason is that he unfortunately values his music pretty low making him a attractive choice to cheaply fill out a game's soundtrack, and the down side of that is the more he's relied on the quicker he has to churn out music, he also did music for a H-anime once or twice)
@@Kraftium I would agree with the 1st comment, if it wasnt for the fact that Kevin had to be added in an update for Kuro No Kiseki. Because he didnt show up in a small scene where he was supposed to. Oh, I kinda get how his style would get a bit grating if it ends up sound all too same-ish. But its still no reason to hold such an insane grudge against him. And on the comment on him making music for NSFW Animes... That really doesnt feel like a good reason to hate on the guy. A fair share of creator got first started on NSFW stuff before moving onto SFW works. There is no reason why Singa should be hated for that in my opinion!
I Mean after playing trails of cold steel 4, trails of reverie , and finally trails of daybreak 2 (where are the eighth genesis reveals a Multiverse pocket dimension ) the game gives you hints that there is a pocket Multiverse, were each planet, is separated by an invisible barrier. Trails of Nayuta also gave hints that is right next to Zumeria, and a twin moons on that planet are similar Ys worlds twin moons. Which means each Falcom game not sure about all of them , are separated by invisible barrier that was created by their ancestors probably 2 billion years ago, back on earth in legends of heroes 1&2 we’re the same dragon king attacked earth cutting off all the other colonized planets. And Tokyo Xanadu takes place on earth thousands of years later in the modern day where humanity has reestablished their technology. My theory is that the ancient humans was a level four civilization. They have the technology to manipulate reality, create a Multiverse pocket dimensions, create pocket dimensions(gahanna, Phantasma, reverie corridor, Elysium, The black pearl, Nox Ys 9, the demon realm in magical Alisa, Terra / lost Heaven in Nayuta, legends of heroes 3-5 and separate pocket dimensions and and the rest of the Falcom games )🕵️♀️🕵️♀️🕵️♀️🕵️♀️🕵️♀️🤔🤔🤔🤔
Another banger vid as always, it's only right that you cover Falcom's library more as their stuff is clearly some of the media out there that you're most passionate about.
I actually had Ys 1 on my Master System in 1988. It was a solid, if not punishingly difficult, game. I spent a lot of days alternating between Ys, Phantasy Star, Miracle Warriors, and Golvellius. What a time to be a JRPG fan!!! Great video, Kraft! It's good to see Falcom get more love. I adore cheesy fan fiction-esqe games, and there's strangely a lot of them! Which ones are your favorite?
You should try the modern Ys1 Port on steam/psp its still pretty brutal but alot fairer and very visceral being a human steam roller Glad you enjoyed the vid, if I had to say my favourite fan fictiony style game I don't quite know but off the top of my head persona Q2 comes to mind, I loved the first games gameplay and aesthetic but hated the writing from the bit of Q2 I played it seemed MUCH better
@@Kraftium I'm a HUGE LittleKuriboh fan, so JUMP FORCE with the Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged voice pack is epic. Truly the way the game was meant to be played. I'll have to try that Ys remake. I'm sure it's probably not nearly as hard as playing on a tiny controller with only two buttons, but I'll give it a shot. Not sure I can really enjoy a game that doesn't cause me physical pain...
Great video, more Falcom content is always appreciated. I've played a bit of the story mode after the Geofront release, but lost interest shortly after. I should continue at some point, but there are so many games to play... What about a nice little Zwei review?
glad you enjoyed it if you solely want to just play through the story then you could always just download the multiplayer save and blitz it with a level 99 character that will basically just make it a VN at that point, for better and for worse I do plan to get to both zwei 1 and 2 one day I enjoyed the little bit of zwei 2 I played when it first came out over here so who knows
@@Kraftium Thanks for the info, I do want a bit of a challenge, though. Haven't played the first Zwei, but finished the second one, including the fearsome optional boss. Falcom should make another game in this style, at least Nayuta seems quite similar when it comes to gameplay.
2 things. 1)You mentioned on this video you need 4 different PSP to unlock everything? 2) How were you able to make the game look so good on the menus? Mine was a lot of broken elements on it
1) you'd need 4 psp (or 4 emulators running) to get the most out of it since you can't do multiplayer on a single device 2) the fan translation website has a HD texture pack that you can apply the makes the menus looking crisp (does nothing for the actual ingame graphics, just menus)
Being only around 20 hours into TitS FC, this really doesn't do much for me in terms of the fan-service, but it is cool seeing all the updated art for characters who look, questionable in some of the game's renders
I like the OG art of sky alot (its very late 90s early 2000s non digital art) its super cozy but I get its not for everyone, unless you're playing with the evo art then year some characters look weird (especially joshua who is kinda cursed) how far are you in to FC? have you started with sky or did you play Cold Steel and go back?
@@KraftiumI should clarify it's just the status screen art I don't like. The text portraits all look really good. Maybe it's just the overly huge eyes. Never really cared for that style. FC is my first game. I'm planning on going through in release order, though I might play Cold Steel 1&2 before Crossbell depending on how far I get before the official releases. Really enjoying myself so far!
@@EisenSMT oh yeah FCs menu art is weirdly a different art style to everything else That changes in SC And yeah CS1 is a perfectly good place to go after sky I would maybe hold off on CS2 if you dont have too much time to wait for azure since the back end of CS2 does spoil a few/follow up on events of azure
