I caught my first bass on a swim jig from your tips today. Caught 4 nice ones and 3 smaller ones. I’m in southeast Illinois. I appreciate your videos! Thanks
Thanks for info mr Randy cause I’m fishing from now through the post spawn , then when the heat comes again my rods get put up , I’m definitely trying these , I like that zoom worm info
Thanks Randy!!! Do you do anything with the dark sleeper to increase hook-up ratio? I seen someone recommend trimming the dorsal fins to expose hook slightly.
I was left scratching my head yesterday. Water was like glass, cotton ball clouds, second day of a high & water visibility 8-12" & 76 degrees. Fish rising first lure out was a #9 rapala couldn't get bit. Its my go-to for the conditions, moveing thru my baits it was a one inch square bill that saved tha day. Though they were feeding up top you couldn't buy a bite there either. Strangest day I've had in a good while. Lesson is don't get locked in on one thing, change it up as needed.
Thanks for the technique tips. Will try them. Although not ideal for hookups, the ONLY lure I’ve had success with lately is a white/silver rooster tail. Even had a largemouth shake it off this morning, but another one grabbed it while completing the retrieve.
Really liking that idea of fishing that worm with the flapper tails almost like a spinnerbait...that's on my list to try, for sure....I like the Rapala, as well...I do put a willow leaf blade treble & replace the middle hook with it...little extra flash
My PB was on Bagley Bang O Lure same color as Repala you showed. My best producing top water by far. Just ordered and received 4 new ones direct from Bagley.
You know what I used to kill the walleye and smallies on this time of year? old Rapala J-14 and, take a lighter to the bill and bend it straight down, then after cast twitch it (it'll walk) a few times then just slow reel it back so it wakebaits. Nowadays I just throw big wakebaits and glidebaits, but j-14 was an OG largish (compared to the times 90s-early 00s) wakebait. Edit: oops had to look, it was actually j-13. The husky jerk was the size 14cm, not the jointed minnow.

A regular full sized rapala single handedly got me 3rd in my fist tournament 👍
Full sized? You mean the F18 size? Curious.

I like to bend the hook out slightly with a pair of needle nose, pliers

Husky Jerk around the Spawn produced a lot of big females for me
