Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. John 16:33 (NLT)
5 STAGES OF GRIEF
• Shock/Disbelief - Individual believes the news is somehow mistaken and they cling to a false, more preferable reality.
• Anger - Individual acknowledges that denial can’t go on forever. The become frustrated, especially towards those closest to them.
• Bargaining/Guilt - The normal reaction to feelings of helplessness and vulnerability is often a need to regain control through a series of ‘If only’ statements. If only we had _________. Guilt often accompanies bargaining because we believe there is something we could have done.
• Depression - It is challenging for the individual to overcome their sadness. They may become silent, withdraw or refuse visitors.
• Acceptance and Hope - Individual embraces their mortality and inevitable future, or that of a loved one. This stage comes with a calm retrospective view and a stable condition of emotions.
And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 (NLT)

I recently lost my father the 5th of this month and he was the best. He died suddenly also and im still in shock. It hurts and I dont wanna feel it. My emotions are up n down. I just started searching for info about grief. I know my dads with the lord but the fact he's not around is really hitting me now. sorry for your loss. i know no words can be of comfort except for the word of God. i lost my mother last year, it was so sudden. it broke me. i just had a good cry, i miss her so much.. that is why i searched for a video that can help me and found this.. the Lord bless us and heal us 🙏

go to church and build your new family, i lost my dad and he was all I had. no siblings either. I don’t know my mother haven’t talked to her in a decade. go to church, go to multiple churches, womens groups. you will quickly be surrounded by lots of people who genuinely care
I am praying for every single person in this comment section. In Jesus name I pray for the healing and comfort of your hearts, as well as mine. My dad passed away August 2, 2023 and I spent his last 2 and a half weeks with him in the hospital. He was my role model and best friend. The best dad in the entire world and I am heartbroken and lost without him. He was 75. He loves Jesus and he loves God and I know where he is, but boy does it hurt bad. Leukemia and Lung cancer 😔😭 I hate cancer.

my wife of 41 years just died of cancer so i feel your pain.I am ex-military but this is the hardest pain i ever felt and i been through some psychical pain.My guts are on fire.i was the muscle of the marriage and she was the smart one(brains).Now i am lonely and scared because i don't have all the answers to life problems that she did in seconds.I am left every month with a pile of doctor bills and she is gone.Had a gun in my hands few days ago,but i'm still here.May God give us all strength!

I had been married to my beloved soulmate for 56 precious years ago and cancer took her two year and three months ago and it has gotten worse. We were together ever day after retirement and if you saw one of us you would see the other. Grieving is so bad but we know where she is and it has made me a lot better Christian and looking for our reunion before long.
44 years 4 days married she died 3 months ago after 15 months battling cancer I now understand grief and it is tough. I to know where she is but for me a loss is a loss and with god’s help I’ll get through this but now it is difficult . Thank you for your comment

I lost my 35 year old soulmate 4 days ago. We have a 4 month old. Love to you. It's the worst pain I've ever felt.
I lost my uncle about five-and-a-half years ago followed by my cousin then my mom and 11 months later my dad. I had friendships that would destroyed because people did not want to offer their condolences or have their lives interrupted in anyway. My neighbor's only contacted me when they wanted something out of me. Ulterior motives only. I also lost my job. And no family immediate or extended. It's by the grace of God that I am here but I continue to mourn and grieve. Praying for everybody reading this.
My husband left me for alcohol and loose women. So many people act like it's no big deal. People have grown cold and uncaring. I admit I am better off without him, but it has thrown my life into a tale spin. Death is easier for me to deal with than betrayal. I have been betrayed by so many people lately. We are definitely close to Jesus return. I am praying He holds you in His arms and we both get through this soon.

I lost my 16yr daughter 12/29/21 . It’s been so rough on me and my wife . This def help but most days , we feel as if the pain will never go away . It’s hard to wake up each morning knowing my daughter isn’t with us anymore . I’m almost at my end .
I am with you my daughter passed away 4 months ago, it felt like my heart was ripped out, and its so lonely, I cry it out and yes you think how will I ever get through this heart wrenching pain. I asked Jesus to help me everyday abd just trust HE will do that.

I lost my dog of 12 years a month before Lost my ex spouse. I loved for 22 yrs . Then covid happened and I have grieved/cried for three years.. It feels as though part of my heart has being taken along with their passing. Thank God. I had lots of faith. Many prayers for all that grieve🙏🌻🌞😭
I lost my fur baby in August. She was 17 . I loved her so ,so, much!!! She had a cancerous tumor & she could no longer walk. I did not want to let her go. The HolySpirit Spoke to my spirit & let me know she was going to be able to run & play & be healthy in heaven with him .That is the only way I had peace , knowing I will be with her throughout eternity!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Lost my son a month ago to a fentanyl overdose he was 22 leaving behind his 1 year old baby girl… This has rocked me to my core… only place I find total peace is seeking Jesus pressing into him and worshiping my creator.. I’m still walking through this pain and will continue to no doubt but God has already used so much of it for his glory
Just lost my only brother on sept 17 to the same. He was 23 years old. He was my moms favorite and I thought this would crush her spirit but she has been doing better than me because she says she knows she will be with him again as is promised in the Bible. I miss my brother so much sometimes I feel like I literally can’t breathe. I’m so sorry to hear about your son. It’s devastating.

Five years in after my husband passed. I'm not the same I'm still grieving. I look for him every day. I am struggling not to make bad decisions. I struggle everyday. I have tried grief counseling, I found I'm not consumable for public appearances. I rather stay home and pray.
This preacher omits to include in his words or advice for those who don’t have six children, a wife, a mother etc remaining to love and be loved by after their particular recent loss. Circumstances mean that some people have no remaining family at all nor any close friends.
I am sending my prayers for those people in particular.

The only thing that gives me peace is knowing my brother gave his life to God, he was too young but he's in a better place. This world has nothing to offer its full of sin we're in pain physically emotionally and he won't have to deal with that anymore.

This is what i wanted to hear as I am grieving the loss of my husband of 44 years. You are so right, just because we are alive doesn't mean we're free from pain and sufferings. It gives so much solace to know our dear ones are not in pain anymore. This helps you to move on although the grief will never go away.

@@P.optar.t OH sweetie! I'm so so sorry! Yes, it's so shocking and horrible. It's hard to deal with. Like me, for instance, I'm used to taking care of things. Anytime a problem arises, I do my best to handle it but when she died I felt so helpless. There was NOTHING I could do about it. Not only am I hurting but my family is as well. I will pray for peace and comfort for you and your family. Once the shock wears off, you'll be better able to come to terms with his passing. Neither one of them are in pain any longer. I lost my precious brother to Covid , He was in the hospital 20 days and the last 3 days he was well enough to go to rehab and they told him and my family we could visit him once he gets in rehab , but they changed their visitation policy to 7 days , he passed on the third day , I think he just gave up , he called me 3 times in 15 minutes begging me to come after him , I will feel guilty the rest of my life that I didn’t go after him . My family members was afraid he would pass at home . I’m thinking at least I would have been with him and he would have been with us . He also passed all alone and passed with a broken heart . I have to pray everyday to ask God to help me to make it through each day . He was my best friend . I miss him so much and haven’t walked in his house since his passing. I don’t know if I will ever be able to . He lived by hisself . I live only 13 miles from him . I need Prayers I enjoyed the video it just popped up from nowhere .

@@smck716 let me say this, you will always miss your son, you will always want him and there will be days and moments that will come that he did not get to have. Those days hurt the most. Some days you may not think of him as often as others… do not beat yourself up for that. You have not and will not forget your beloved boy. It is ok to smile. He would want that for you. Moving forward is not leaving him behind. When you are able, find a church. Find a grief share program. Specifically called Grief Share. It will help. Turn to God, He will carry you through. It is a lonely place to be a grieving mother. I’m sorry for your broken heart

I lost my Mother in 21 and my Dad in 22....lm lost, lm stagnant, and it's literally effecting my health.....this is the most gut wrenching pain that I've ever felt...no physical pain can come close to this...they were my everything...at times it's almost unbearable 😞

Thank u for the beautiful service u gave. I lost my mom on March 3rd 2021. She was my rock!!! She was an AMAZING mother as well as person. To say I was very close to her is an understatement. I was her caregiver as she was bedridden for 16 years of her life. At the end of her life she suffered terribly. She was in complete agony. I'm happy that she's not in anymore pain, and that she is home with JESUS. Her suffering is over and now mine has started. It's been pure agony without her everyday. I lost my 28 year old son he was shot to death in a heroic act. He died saving someone that was not his family member and left 2 kids, one 5 and the other 3. He was my only son it’s been 6 months of severe suffering for me and our family and his two boys. This Thanksgiving and Christmas was devastated.

I'm so sorry I know how it feels to be lonely without the person you loved, we've all lost our love ones in death one way or the other, either a spouse, child, family members, or a true friend that meant the world to us, such is life I understand how you feel but life goes on because death is inevitable and we'll all have to face it someday, I lost my wife 3yrs ago to a cardiovascular disease, I felt deeply devastated with grief, but that's the past now, time is indeed the best healer.

i lost my unborn son, left with only 3 weeks to birth him. it felt surreal, just yesterday, i had performed a scan that showed his vibrant heart beating and a day after, he was gone. TERRIBLE PAIN!. but i know he is in a better place.

On Saturday, March 19, 2022, we buried our “Queen” our Beautiful Mother, Matriarch of our Family, and my Favorite Girl!!
Pastor, Your Testimony is my Testimony. This exact story happened to our Mom. On February 24, this year, I drove my Mom to have a 2hr procedure, 51/2 hrs later we would learn that my Mom would not wake up, and almost 2 wks later, we had to make the most painful decision to let her go. There was nothing else man could do to reverse what happened to Mom, so we moved forward, and @ 9:10 p.m. on March 8, 2022, our Beautiful Light was gone!!
I Thank You for sharing Your Grief. 4 years later my Sister found this sermon, and Shared it with me, and another sister, and after I viewed this sermon, I shared it with all those around who needed to hear this sermon. Your words have brought me Great Comfort, and Peace. Your sermon made my pain a little bit more easier to bare!
I’m curious about how you and your family are 4 years later. I would love to hear how you survived. Did Your Joy come back? Can you breathe easier? Dose the pain ever subside? Our mom just got called home to heaven. She was 83. Amazing woman with amazing life. We will all miss her dearly. The grief is real and deep even though we knew this was coming.
I’m so very sorry about your Mum. But in saying that, your Mum would say she’s happy, pain free and in the presence of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. My Husband went home 9 weeks ago and it comforts me knowing where he is. He was 86 and we knew it was coming but that doesn’t lessen the pain. We have to now live in world without them. It’s a new life in a way but with the help of The Lord we will cope. Sending love and big hugs ❤️

I lost my son my on December 23, 2021 . He was my first born that was loved the moment I was expecting a baby. He has struggled for years with his ex- wife taking off with his 2 year old som. He hadn’t seen him in 35 years but he was able to spend time & receive calls from his son the last 2 years. In the struggles he had heart, diabetes, back problems, neuropathy. The past 2 years the my son suffered so much pain, depression. Then to make everything so much worse he became double amputated . He was admitted to the hospital with terrible stomach pains a week before he passed. He was doing okay at first but then his organs started to shut down. He passed at 12:30am on December 23, 2021. I definitely know he spent Christmas Day with Jesus, both set of grandparents, his brother, his Dad, aunt, uncles , cousins & friends. I have no doubt he now is well, happy & running through the hills of flowers. I will see him again when I am called Home. ❤️

I lost my mom in February to Cancer also and yes it is difficult at times. When I came across this message it really helped me tremendously because this month my Godmother passed and I had to find a way to comfort my Godsister and niece and once I watched this video multiple times I was able to give some comfort as well as receive some for my self. I am so sorry for you loss. My son was laid to rest Saturday. The pain is excruciating. I have opted for meds for depression and grief counciling. Tomorrow is his 36th birthday. He donated his organs, saved 5 people. That is some comfort to me. He embraced Christianity after years of having nothing to do with religion. God bless you.

My dad just died today so I looked this up. Went the same way with the hospital saying he was good for the procedure. They took him early before scheduled time for lung drain tube and he died with no one there. I needed this video and thank you for it from the bottom of my heart.

Yep. Especially when God knows our motives we had thankful and looking forward 'to twilight years with our beloved Love of Our Life'. LIfe and it's hardships is bad enough - but this bloodgeon my soul and faith.
This was important that I watch and hear this tonight. I am so pleased that you had your dad in your life and had spent quality time with him. You have been blessed by his life. Now, as an old man and a father and grandfather, I want to share some important advice to you, and at some time you can share it with your sons. Never let a day go by without telling your sweet wife how much you love her and how much she means in your life. Be sincere and specific. She will know. Do this every day. We can get in the habit of letting life get in the way of these small but very important things we do with our spouse. This same advice go with all of those in your family. Let hour wife know you LOVE her. There may be a day she may not be there to hear that. Yesterday has happened and passed. Today is hear and now, so Cherish the Moment. Don't worry about tomorrow - Tomorrow you will be looking back at Yesterday (which is Today), so make sure you know that you cherished the moments. Tell her right now that you love her. . . .

I don't know how to pray, so I came here in my grief. Through these words in this video I was able to find comfort knowing that these trials of sorrow are MEANT to bring me closer to god, meant to remind me of His unconditional comfort..

Unexpectedly lost my mom 2 weeks ago. Completely devestated. She was healthy caught and pneumonia 1/8/22. In hospital 2 months spent the last month and half on ventilator for no reason. My family members are separating. Division, greed has come upon this family. Mom could of lived another 20 years. In disbelief I feel angry it’s not fair she’s the sweetest, most generous, caring person, humble person i ever knew. Thank you for this video. Sharing with my family

I lost my beloved hubby and soul mate to Covid 19 on July 22, 2021. We both contracted Covid 19 Category 5 and this is the most difficult times of my life. Am still having the pain, struggling everyday, feeling lost, empty and grieving. I pray to god to give me the strength and take away my pain! I lost my grandma on October 30th. She was so caring, thoughtful, kind and loving and I miss her a lot. I was just talking to her a couple days before she passed. she had health problems but it was still very unexpected. One thing that has rung true for me is how deeply grief effects you. Just like you said it causes so many ups and downs, I lost my father to a cancer he didn't even know he had. Within a few months he went from joking and playing ball in the yard with me to being on his death bed in hospice and having our family talk to him through the window and only having two people allowed in at a time. My mother watching outside and just deeply wanting to be with her husband. After losing my dad my feelings went to sorrow and anger and frustration. Why my dad? Why me? Why my family? Why was God doing this? I started to slowly lose my faith and feel numb. He passed over a year ago but I today I have just had so many ups and downs. From all of this my one year old son was born, and I will have to tell him one day about his grandpa and how incredible was. He was a pastor and I know he would be proud of his grandson and his sons and how they still follow the Lord. While we aren't perfect we certainly try our hardest to honor him in his legacy. All this is to say that now I am back with the Lord but I'm still struggling. Grief carries its demons with it, attacks from the enemy while we are weary and heavy laden.. but our father says come to me those who are weary and heavy laden and I never truly understood that verse until now. In our darkest moments he is still with us. Thank you so much for this Pastor Josh. I live across the country in Washington state but I really appreciate you posting this. God really is using this to reach so many people including myself.
After watching the whole sermon I just wanted to say that I believe God led me here today to listen to this. Literally EVERYTHING you said resonated with me. As if I am meant to hear this today. God wants us all to know that he is near to us in every emotion and season of grief and your message helped me so much tonight. I'm not perfect and nobody is but I now am ready to heal and to let go. To run to the father who will never leave us, who will never forsake us. With the hope that one day I will see my earthly father and heavenly father one day. Where I will worship the Lord forever. God is INCREDIBLE.

Your 1st paragraph to 'Grief carries demons' describes my last 3yrs (wife). I believe I still carry it and he (God) knows it as well.
I've been moving forward (first two years stayed away from God and Church), but inside I don't have Acceptance or willing to negotiate Time to Heal. I know she very much alive and Heaven is real. But I told God, Im unable and unwilling to put her passing in that 'natural' perspective and may he instead be here to me in the 'super natural'. And not that he was not there in the first place.
Im defiant on it (no acceptance or time to heal,) for it's not the same like any other hardships in the world (lossed foreclosure home, repossessed vehicle, lost career/job or money). For the Love of our Life are irreplaceable.
Regarding darkness, I know his awesomeness and power, but until that time again (reunion in Heaven or millennial period) - I stay away from riches of this world even though it (her Loss) beats on me daily.
My father died when I was a small child and every birthday, Father's Day, Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc., there is always that empty chair at the table. It's a lifetime of mourning.
I lost my daughter 42 yrs old. The day after Thanksgiving, she battled menistatic breast cancer for 10 yrs. Her estranged husband, took My grandson to live out of state,, with him, girlfriend and his daughter. I (we)wasn't (weren't) allowed to see/talk to my grandson upon his departure.
It's a heart wrenching situation. Every day is new grieving period. Those that haven't endured such a situation, can't fathom what grieving is.
I have been through so much grief in my life, it just piles up, I have living grief too of losses that continue, multiple losses and grief that will go on until I meet Jesus
Lost My brother. Our only brother, my sister's and I lost our baby brother. I'm the oldest and I found him. I walked thru disbelief for a month, I called him a few times out of habit because mentally I don't think I accepted that this is my reality. And I'm stuck in-between anger and Deep painful PAIN. I cry when I don't want to. I cry any time anything outside of "him" go wrong. I cry when I'm alone, I went to church for the first time in years today, because I needed to feel hope I needed to feel comfort from Jesus and I cried silently in church until I couldn't keep my eyes open. I am just so hurt because I called him the night prior and when he didn't answer I told myself that I would just go to his house but I didn't go, I went home and went to the casino and All that night I felt heaviness in my heart but I didn't put the pieces together fast enough. And the next day was too late. I'm just looking for understanding and hope.

Really really agree with your perspective on mourning. I nursed my husband until his death and i do believe i had started to grieve before he died but listening to your talk I'm so glad that you discussed that part of mourning before the person has actually dies never discussed it with anyone afraid that i might sound stupid. I so applaud you for broaching a "negative" subject. This society rejects any positive talk. So our grief is prolonged by peoples platitudes that only feels like a dagger through the soul. I have longed to address this among the church members so that we can be authentic with each other.
To Overcome grief: Let Us Choose to rejoice in the LORD, Submit all our Care to the Master: knowing simply that God is worth Our Praise Even in the Storm. The LORD is next to us.

Not sure how I came across this, We’re having to deal with the unfortunate death of my Father in law (Randy) a awesome 61 year old healthy man. He is the definition of Great guy, Married many couples , Touched so many people. He was a leader at his church and a true Christian. He Passed Monday from a 4 week struggle with Covid. God somehow lead me here.

Just lost my dad to COVID, he was in the hospital 38 days. I thank God He gave my sister and I the opportunity to be there with our dad in the hospital for the final hours of his life. The only comfort I have is in knowing that he was a good Christian man and he had a long time to make peace with God before he went.

I lost NY boyfriend of 4 yrs. In which he was like my husband. It will be a month on the 14th of this month. I am struggling. One moment I'm like numb and then just out of strength, have times of crying but I'm not crying as much now but I still have alot of crazy emotions. Guilt, sorrow, longing for him, also feel like I'm getting depressed. Yet I know he still with me in spirit and I'm sure he is in heaven and no longer in pain or struggling. I miss him so much though. I know one day I will see him again. Yet grief has changed me. I just don't feel myself at all but time does heal but it hurts so much.

I’ve been living in my past for over a year I’ve lost close relationships that I had imagined were gonna be there my entire life, it genuinely feels like a loss of life only at times unbearable because they are still in this world but with the conscious choice to not want me in theirs. I didn’t know that I still haven’t grieved properly til I came to this video God revealed to me I still refuse to accept the reality that they are not in my life anymore. Please pray for me.

Thank you soooo very much for this message. I have been in a season of loss for the past 3 years and it has jolted my life. I have been trying to comfort everyone else and just have become numb. I lost my precious only child I had left, my beautiful baby girl, my daughter of 17 on 4 September 2022 @ 18h, she was so scared in hospital, she just wanted to be with me back home. I feel extreme guilt for not rather having her in peace at home. Just 21 months ago, we lost her brother. I have to trust that I will see both my son and daughter again, or I will have no hope to go on.... My heart, soul and spirit died with them. I pray Jesus revives me. Resuscitate my spirit. For it died with her.

For he's strong bull street fighter and in his continuous grief tears he keeps repeating 'I just wish to know she's fine?'😰I told him he shocks me.
