I love that Dasha keeps calling him "Mr Lee". I assume she refers to the character but somehow it also seems to pay respect to the actor, which he fully deserves.
The man that Bruce Lee was sparring with at the beginning became a legend in Hong Kong cinema in his own right. His name is Sammo Hung and, despite him not being particularly slender, he was incredibly well versed in martial arts and gained respect as a superb fight choreographer and director. Sammo went to the same Chinese Drama Academy as Jackie Chan (who does some stuntwork on this and is most noticeable for being the man who gets his neck snapped by Bruce Lee in the fight in the underground caverns). The Shaolin Monk is played by an actor named Roy Chiao. Lots of people know him best for playing Lao Che at the beginning of _Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom_ (1984). Angela Mao played Bruce Lee's character's sister in that flashback. She is quite possibly cinema's first critically acclaimed female martial arts movie star and gained a fan following with some of her other Hong Kong work. Any glass in this film (including the glass bottles that Bob Wall's character Oharra attacked Bruce Lee with) was actually genuine glass. This was a Hong Kong-funded production despite being under the Warner Bros. banner. Hong Kong film budgets were nowhere near as high as those of their Hollywood counterparts so they often couldn't afford the safer sugar-glass (they couldn't even afford mattresses for stuntpeople to land on; they just used cardboard boxes!).
It took me a while to realise. Yuen Biao is in this film too. He doubled Bruce for the flip-kick against Oharra (Bob Wall) and you also see him a few times during the punching rituals. He is most easily spotted at the point just before all of those prisoners come into the fray during the final mass battle - Bruce kicks him in the stomach just before those guys all pour in (at 21:45) Two of the four guards who had to "prove themselves worthy to remain among us" are also people whom fans of Hong Kong cinema might recognise: one is Chung Fat and the other is Mars. Lam Ching-Ying is also visible quite a few times in the film too (that's him sitting on the right of the screen at 10:30, near to Roper), plus another key moment is during the fight with Williams in Han's office - at one point you see a man reel backwards and crash through a window: you can see that that man is also Lam).
Roy Chiao, the actor who played the okd Shaolin Abbott in the beginning of the film, is also well known as Lao Che in “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” and Senzo Tanaka in “Bloodsport”, both classic films.
Jackie Chan is actually in this movie. Young man with a staff. In an interview Jackie talked about how he accidentally got his with the stick while filming and Bruce felt so bad he might have hurt him. J.
Ya when this came out ALL the boys got so excited. We all bought nun-chucks, stars and other weapons and even had fights like in the movie, which are extremely dangerous. Boys will be boys.
An absolute masterpiece in martial arts cinema, filled with Bruce Lee’s philosophical views on fighting/martial arts, and his first full-length film featuring his own personal martial art: Jeet Kune Do, The Way of the Intercepting Fist. You’re right. He isn’t a man who drinks. Bruce Lee was a very, very serious fitness nut, and had a crazy workout routine that he created himself, as well as one of his students built many of his personally designed workout equipment. Many professional bodybuilders have said that Bruce Lee was their inspiration for getting into fitness training.
Fun fact: In the scene with the cobra, the snake did in fact bite Bruce. Thankfully all the venom was drained out before filming that particular scene.
Yuen Wah, Landlord from Kung Fu Hustle, was the stunt double for Mr Lee performing the acrobatics at the beginning of the movie, and that cool back flip kick against Oharra :)
This is one of those rare movies that you can actually learn really valuable things from. Listen to Bruce talking to the young student about paying attention on purpose. This is the basic precept of mindfulness.
Bruce is the prototype of all martial artists. He was a philosopher which he wanted worked into the movie. Had Bruce Lee not died, it would have been interesting to see how he'd continue in the 70's and 80's. RIP Mr. Lee.
Those fighting insects are called Praying Mantis. The big ones will fit in the palm of your hand. We used to have them by the dozens were I live, but now we're lucky to see one or two a year. They start off really small, smaller than a house fly. They're cute when they're that small. They're strange when they're big.

I really love how on the very first second you recognized that this was realistic fighting. Very different from other action movies, ninety percent reality based. Your reactions here were nice and authentic. Thankfully, Lee was actually able to sneak in a few movies starting at the very last 1.5 year of his life. Prior to that...there are zero action movies, he was simply a veteran at live combat. In live situations he had fought; Black Belts, Pro Fighters, Ex military, Champions, 3rd degree Masters, Rival Martial Artists, and opponents that outweighed him by 100 pounds. His battle experience started as a young boy who would then become the leader of the Hong Kong Gang, the Tigers8 of Junction Street, and his violence lead all through out his teens + adulthood. The few movies he DID get to make were only at the last 1.5 years of his life which had been a very brief opportunity for him to report his life experiences and give that insight into live combat. He only made 3 little movies plus One Hollywood film, a very short attempt at films but we're lucky he at least made them and snuck them right in JUST before he died to show us his insights on his personal life of hard combat. Lee is ranked by Sports Illustrated in the 50 Greatest Athletes of All Time, with near super human strength that could raise unbelievable weights that pro weight lifters could not.
You could not live during the 1970's and 80's without idolizing Bruce Lee over this movie. Even though he passed away shortly after it was released it seemed so much more relatable to Americans than the standard Chinese movies of the day. I still get inspired watching this movie.

You have a great eye for fighting Dasha 🧐 The reason Spike in Cowboy Bebop fights like Bruce Lee is because he uses Jeet Kun Do, Bruce's invented style. The animators use a lot of Bruce Lee references to animate Spike's movements.
Bruce Lee is credited with inventing MMA. He was the first martial artist to say that it wasn't good enough to study one style. He studied all styles, and took the best from each. That allowed him to beat any other style.
I think Dasha is showing respect by calling Bruce Mr. Lee, which is something i appreciate in young people, i love her reactions on this and many other movies she has reacted to.. Actually Jackie Chan was in a few Bruce Lee movies, Once Bruce accidentally struck him in a scene for which he profusely Apologized and even told him that he would be in all his movies from now on, but unfortunately that was never to be since Bruce passed away in 1973. I myself did Jeet Kune Do (Bruce lee 's own style) for many years before i went to war as a soldier for the South African army in the Angolan war 1986 - 1989, i was severely wounded which stopped me from continuing with my martial arts after my time as a Soldier. But i still watched all the Bruce Lee and even Chuck Norris movies back in the day. Bruce was a great Martial artist.
Hello, FYI, Bruce Lee is a martial Arts Master. He is the reason that there were so many " Kung Fu " movies in the 70's that were shown in the U.S. Also he choreographed all the fights main fight scenes. His other big movie " Game of Death " just as good, that's where he made the complete YELLOW outfit famous, that you saw in Kill Bill, also another movie "Meltdown" Stars Jet Li . You should look up Bruce Lee, he was a phenomenal individual, with almost supernatural skills.
A 70s cult classic. This movie was responsible for a huge increase in martial arts popularity. Another great movie that is about 70s culture is "Almost Famous"(2000) which is semi-biographical story about the youngest rock music journalist ever to write for Rolling Stone Magazine. The journalist's name was Cameron Crowe and he is also this film's Director and writer.
ETD is probably the first movie I ever saw-I was 5 years old when I saw it on it's U.S. debut at a drive in theater with my parents. It's hard now to describe the overwhelming power it had on my young mind, forever cementing my love and fascination for Bruce Lee and for cinema itself. It was so great up on the huge drive in screen I'll never forget it
Now that you've seen a few authentic kung fu classics, you need to watch The Last Dragon, which uses all of this as the backdrop for the coming of age and subsequent hero's journey of a young man in Harlem named Bruce Leroy. It's a classic in its own right, it's got a very memorable cast, and the actor for Bruce Leroy is hot AF and still just as hot to this very day. RIP Vanity 6, also hot AF.

Bruce Lee was known during his time as probably the greatest martial artist out there... even today he is considered the best by many. If you want to learn a little more about Bruce Lee himself, there is a good movie that was made about his life called "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story" And if you enjoy watching good fight scenes then I recommend my all time favorite martial arts movie... called "Fist of Legend" (from 1993 if I recall correctly). It is a remake of a Bruce Lee original called "Fist of Fury" from the early 1970's!
There is a great parody of this in the The Kentucky Fried Movie. It has a bunch of short bits but that one is most of the second half. It's probably too hard to edit for RUclips though, but still worth seeing with this fresh in your mind.
Great reaction Dasha and I loved that you mentioned that you are watching cowboy bebop the animated series!! Yes it is true that show took some of the things Bruce said and did into that show and I’m glad you were able to point it out and spot it!! 🙂 Spike Speigel fights in a similar manner to Bruce Lee and he even quotes one of his most famous lines in the show ! I hope you upload your reactions to that show here !!
@@tonyrossell832 There are other reactors reacting to it. But, none of hers. Would be fun if she did manage to upload them here. Maybe she will eventually upload them on her Patreon.
I would love to see Dasha react to The Last Dragon, now that she's watched some classic Kung Fu, it's time she watched the cheesiest, campiest, goofiest - but at the same time great fun movie like this Motown music video infusion. Sho 'Nuff!
----- @ToylandChairman666 ----- - When Chan worked as a stuntman and also had a role in the movie 'Fist of Fury', Lee kicked him so hard that he missed his target that was put in place to soften his landing. -----
Wow, I'm so surprised (and glad) that you chose a Bruce Lee film! I always thought his best movie was 'Fist of Fury' due to both the storyline and action.
Yes, sweetheart, in the opening scene they are actually fighting as you say🙄. Lord, get me through this reaction video without screaming at this girl and her opinions. And yes, the guys who will come to her defense are doing so because they are nothing more then stalkers. Get a life guys.
13:31 the guy he side kicked in that scene was a real side kick not choreographed. The story goes that the actor was saying all sorts of things about Bruce Lee. About him being a fake, not a real martial artists and the such. So when the time came to shoot this scene, Bruce Lee decided to show him how "fake" his martial arts was.
I loved how Dasha kept calling Bruce Lee Mr. Lee. She always manages to up her adorableness.
Bruce Lee actually developed his own martial art, which he called Jeet Kune Do.

13:17 this is the part where the husband (land lord) from Kung Fu Hustle was the body double for Bruce Lee, when he does the back flip kick. i think i mentioned to you when you watched Kung Fu Hustle. another great reaction to a classic! 👍
The fighting insects are called Praying Mantis.
Bruce Lee was known during his time as probably the greatest martial artist out there... even today he is considered the best by many. If you want to learn a little more about Bruce Lee himself, there is a good movie that was made about his life called "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story"
And if you enjoy watching good fight scenes then I recommend my all time favorite martial arts movie... called "Fist of Legend" (from 1993 if I recall correctly). It is a remake of a Bruce Lee original called "Fist of Fury" from the early 1970's!
Funny, I never seen this movie before, only the parody done in "The Kentucky Fried Movie." Thanks, Dasha. Enjoyed your reaction.
Great reaction. Hope you continue with more Bruce Lee. ❤🎉
This was a fun one to revisit, and I enjoyed your enthusiasm. Thanks, Dasha.
@ 20:29.....watch " Bloodsport"
There is a great parody of this in the The Kentucky Fried Movie. It has a bunch of short bits but that one is most of the second half. It's probably too hard to edit for RUclips though, but still worth seeing with this fresh in your mind.
This is a classic movie. When it came to martial arts training, Bruce Lee was far ahead of his time in many ways.
The insect your were talking about is called praying mantis
Great reaction Dasha and I loved that you mentioned that you are watching cowboy bebop the animated series!! Yes it is true that show took some of the things Bruce said and did into that show and I’m glad you were able to point it out and spot it!! 🙂 Spike Speigel fights in a similar manner to Bruce Lee and he even quotes one of his most famous lines in the show ! I hope you upload your reactions to that show here !!
There are no reactions to the show to upload, as far as I know. There's none on her Patreon.
@@tonyrossell832 There are other reactors reacting to it. But, none of hers. Would be fun if she did manage to upload them here. Maybe she will eventually upload them on her Patreon.
It's fun listening to you RRRrrrrrrrrrrrolling yourrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Rrrrrrrrrs.
I would love to see Dasha react to The Last Dragon, now that she's watched some classic Kung Fu, it's time she watched the cheesiest, campiest, goofiest - but at the same time great fun movie like this Motown music video infusion. Sho 'Nuff!
4:38, Jackie Chan cameo.

- When Chan worked as a stuntman and also had a role in the movie 'Fist of Fury', Lee kicked him so hard that he missed his target that was put in place to soften his landing.

Wow, I'm so surprised (and glad) that you chose a Bruce Lee film! I always thought his best movie was 'Fist of Fury' due to both the storyline and action.
Growing up in the 70's in Melbourne Australia my best mate and I would go to Little Chinatown in the city to watch Bruce, he's still the GOAT.
NO viewing of Enter the Dragon is complete until you compliment it with a viewing of the "Fist Full of Yen" segment from Kentucky Fried Movie
Everyone should be able to roll their Rs like that.
YEAH!!!! Now we’re talking!!!
My favorite Bruce Lee I like his skill like cat sounds
Over the years there have been many great martial artists and MA movies, nothing touches Bruce Lee.
There are literally millions of better martial artists and films. He was an actor, nothing more.
Incorrect.
Yes, sweetheart, in the opening scene they are actually fighting as you say🙄. Lord, get me through this reaction video without screaming at this girl and her opinions. And yes, the guys who will come to her defense are doing so because they are nothing more then stalkers. Get a life guys.
The bugs you saw are called Praying Mantis
13:31 the guy he side kicked in that scene was a real side kick not choreographed. The story goes that the actor was saying all sorts of things about Bruce Lee. About him being a fake, not a real martial artists and the such. So when the time came to shoot this scene, Bruce Lee decided to show him how "fake" his martial arts was.
Cowboy Bebop.. Spike is intended to fight like Bruce somewhat.. Pop culture influences and all
Bolo was also in the all time martial arts classic " Bloodsport ", based on a bullshit story.
