  • We recently visited Singapore for a few days and wanted to find out whether you can actually explore Singapore on a budget 🤔. As one of the most expensive countries in the world, we were surprised at how cheap things like food can be if you look for it. Singapore has a thriving street food scene, and we made sure to experience it as much as we could! It was some of the best food we've had on our travels 🤤.
    We managed to visit the famous botanical gardens in Singapore, sip on delicious Singapore Slings 🍹 eat ALL the food as well and walk around all the other most famous sites in Singapore 🇸🇬. We obviously had to stop by the award-winning, and best airport in the world, Changi Airport in Singapore. The jewel at Changi Airport was amazing to see. We almost spent too long looking at the tallest indoor waterfall in the world and had to quickly make our way through Singapore airport to our flight! ✈️
    We can't wait to visit Singapore again, we had the best time 🙌🏼
    We had the best time exploring Singapore on a budget, and would love to visit again 🙌🏼 Our first impressions of Singapore were definitely amazing ❤️.

    It is so crazy people were queuing to get the photo shot at fort canning. I went there once during pre covid days and during that period hardly no one visits fort canning. It was quite empty and i didnt even take a shot there. In my whole life i think i went to Fort Canning maybe two to three times

    I believe the cheap simcard people were referring to isn't from the telcos, but from Changi Recommends where you can go to any of the Changi Recommends counters in the different terminal (or even pre-book it before flying off) during arrival and get yourself a tourist simcard that's relatively cheaper than telcos. $10 gets you 100GB or you can opt for the WiFi rental which is the same price for 100GB too.

    Welcome to singapore. The runny eggs are the second facto standard for us. Add a few drops of dark soy sauce and white pepper, mix it up and slurp it like a soup. Or did your kaya toast into it. It’s a very authentic and typical breakfast.
    As for Fort Canning Park, head there early if u want to take photos, there isn’t anyone there.

    Singapore public transports is one of the cheapest in the world and bus, MRT ride costs like SGD $1 to $2ish. Your bank most likely charging your conversion or international transaction fee which tends to be higher with the bank. One travel tip is to get credit card for use when in overseas with no transaction few. That will save a lot.

    • @couplesquest_
      @couplesquest_  Год назад

      We do use an international card. We have both monzo and starling, but we didn’t mention that the total for transport included the taxi too and from the airport. On buses and trams I think it came to more like $60 for 2 people

    • @chalayan
      @chalayan Год назад

      @@couplesquest_ averagely $20 per day per person on public transports. Still consider expensive since buses and MRT here are cheap as compares to the underground in London is expensive and likewise for the cab too.

    • @kennyzeng21

    Based on your video, I think you meant Gardens by the Bay? The Singapore Botanic Gardens is a little off town, near Tanglin, which is a UNESCO heritage site. Pasar Malam (translated Night Market) are set up in Singapore heartlands on like a rotational basis, and you can find out where they are located and at which dates of the year online. The heartlands are where most Singaporeans live so you can check out our every day lifestyle and where you can find the more affordable and good foods, the hidden gems :)

    Thank you for your visit video on Singapore. Really enjoy d them and nice that you both enjoyed here too.
    Public transport cost only just over Sgd $1 to $2.50 per trip on Mrt train or buses. One train and up to 4 buses connection in any order is considered the same journey and should not exceed the maximum of $2.50. (Provided between each connection are made within 45 minutes.)
    $90 over was on the high side for two person for three days. Your bank would surely have added their own cards charges.
    Visitors can also consider our Tourist 3 Days unlimited public transport card around $35 each with refundable $10 deposit.
    Thank you both.

    Glad you both enjoyed your trip in Singapore! If you are taking only buses & mrt trips, your transport costs seem a little high for just a few days in SG. Does that include any taxi trips to & from airport ? If it does, then its reasonable as bus & mrt generally cost up to max of sgd2+ per trip, depending on the distance.
    Food costs are still fine.
    Accommodation might be abit expensive for the area you chose I feel.

    Welcome: "Selamat Datang", to you in "South East Asia" to my hometown of Singapore 🇸🇬.
    How are you: "Apa Khabar". Hope 🙏 you are doing fine.
    Thank You: "Terima Kasih", for visiting my country and hope 🙏 you enjoyed your stay here. My race is Malay and that's why i greet you in my mother tongue language.
    Singapore 🇸🇬 also known as the Garden City, is not your typical South East Asia city that you have visited i.e. Thailand🇹🇭, Philippines 🇵🇭, Malaysia 🇲🇾, Indonesia 🇮🇩, Vietnam 🇻🇳, Cambodia 🇰🇭, Myanmar 🇲🇲 or even Brunei 🇧🇳. A combination of Modern Architecture surrounded by old British 🇬🇧 colonial buildings with lush foliage on the skyscrapers. Very westernized and contemporary yet still preserve the old rustic looks of old village settings. The price of accommodation and food tends to be on the pricey side if you dine on a mostly touristy flank. Go to hawker centers for cheaper options in Singapore 🇸🇬. There is plenty of it here and to approximate is beyond comparison. Singapore 🇸🇬 is where the East meets the West. You can live on a budget here in Singapore 🇸🇬 if you plan your trip carefully and don't compare Singapore 🇸🇬 to the rest of South East Asia country.

    Please never get on the bus from the back door again, it is better for you guys on get on the bus from the front door. Not from the back door, the reason of doing that is because it is very dangerous if the bus captain didn't see you and shut the back door. You might get yourselves injured. Also doing that will get the bus captain into trouble. And no one will get on the bus from the back door. Except those wheelchair users. You are lucky that the bus captain didn't scream at you. No way SG is like KL.. KL is like Dubai, skyscrappers everywhere, badly planned n messy

    • @couplesquest_

      It was more about the food etc that was like KL, because the food in both is so good. Definitely more sky scrappers in KL though, you’re right

    • @uwet.8826

      Before Singapore builds a skyscrapper, it has to pass the traffic impact study and the fire department must have the capability to fight the fire at that height. No point having a skyscrapper when cars need 30 minutes to exit the carpark because the surrounding roads cannot handle or people are likely to jump off the building in the event of a fire, just like Grenfell Tower. That is why Singapore doesn't compete for the tallest skyscrapper despite the land costing more than in KL.

    Skip the alcoholic beverages and go to the cloud forest instead. It is a cooling place due to the constant misting. The singapore sling is just overpriced garbage.

      We are very aware of the history, and even mention in this video that Danielle’s grandparents lived in Singapore as he was in the military. We didn’t complain about it being hot, we just stated it’s hot. Singapore is pretty close to the equator, which means it’s a hot country. Just facts. We hope you enjoyed the rest of this video anyway, thanks for watching ☺️

      We didn’t compare at all, we had just come from Bali so it was fresh in our mind what we paid for things like breakfast in Bali vs Singapore and was pleasantly surprised at the price we paid in Singapore since we’d heard it was expensive.
