    HW3 here. I noticed this same weird behavior at multiple intersections with 12.5.4.1 since I’ve had the free trial. Got 12.5.4.2 last night and experienced it again this morning. Feels weird to me to need to be ready on the go pedal when approaching a green light.

    At 17:02 in the video you can clearly see both RED and GREEN traffic lights illuminated -- I am certain this is confusing the AI Driver -- causing it to error in favor of slowing-down rather than plowing thru a RED light! This is probably a situation that the AI Training does not have covered.

      @@TheRobertlonski I’d agree if I didn’t have examples to the contrary all day throughout the day. This is normal for traffic lights.

    Perhaps the slow downs are because of night time driving. I find it's not as good as day time. Good to test same area with night and day driving.

    12.5.4.x has issue AT NIGHT at certain intersections where the car thinks the red light from the lights to the right is part of the lights in front of you. Therefore at those certain intersections the car can brake because it sees both green lights in front and a red light. This also causes the car not to go when the lights turn green because it also sees the red light on the right. NOTE this does not really happen during the daytime. Depending on how yours lights are configured at intersections where you live you may or may not experience the issue.

    Green light issues are problematic and very common.

    Interesting. AI still needs to learn a few things about the way human systems are designed. Maybe we need to let AI design roads and road signs and traffic lights! 🤷‍♂

    unless a car is ahead of me I press on the gas at every green light.. its horrible and unsafe thing to be doing breaking at green light when a car is following you! Not sure why this isn't a priority for to Tesla to fix. Wonder if its computer issue not being able to compute quickly enough its green and okay to go? I drove a hardware 4 model 3 it was so much better then my hardware my car with 3 chip

    I think they’re purposely making Hardware 3 terrible so people upgrade the hardware 4 😢

    I could see two possible reasons it could be braking with the green light:
    1. It either does it because it's used to braking for cars that are usually there and has to wait for them to move at a green light. (Least possible because there are no cars visible in this video)
    or more possible:
    2. Maybe Tesla implemented a "drunk driver safety feature." It slows down to make sure there is no drunk driver that can T-Bone you. Which is kinda cool for safety but annoying for sure.

      Going to have to disagree, I have had same issue with HW3 Model Y and these are occasionally at night with no other car lights around and it will brake.
      What is really confusing I had case where it hard brakes for a green that turned yellow. It continues to slow down then light turn red and aggressively tried to run red light. I had to take over and stop it.

      @@techyjames1945 Remember, my comment is only speculation. I’m not stating facts. I just think these 2 reasons are why it could be doing this. Even so, like I said it’s still annoying. Just something Tesla needs to rectify.

    you should brake or slow down at any intersection, that's reasonable, what's the problem???

    • @RamonSmits
      @RamonSmits 2 месяца назад

      If it would slow down gradually it would be ok but this is almost like the phantom brake issue S/X where experience in the early autopilot days of HW2 and HW3

    • @SOCXOXO

      The problem is that if left unchecked it comes to a complete and utter stop at a green light.

    • @CYBRLFT
      @CYBRLFT  2 месяца назад

      This is just incorrect and in fact unsafe. Traffic is moving with the expectation of flow through a green light. Needlessly braking can have dangerous outcomes.

      I also get this behavior every day. It's not even the same traffic light that it brakes for. It happens in the day time as well as night time, in perfect driving conditions. It happens on empty roads, and busy roads. This has been a problem for the last couple of software releases. I just don't think V3 hardware can handle the extra load on the system. It's also back to braking on flashing yellow lights again, which it has not done for several years. Need that V4 hardware upgrade in a bad way!
