John Deere 332 Quick Hitch and Front PTO: Part 1

Installing the quick hitch on my 332 John Deere. This part covers the basic install with the plan to finish the install when snow is in the forecast so I can use my 47 blower on the front of the 332.

Can you use the blower pulley to run the mower deck? They sell a speed-up pulley for the mower deck, but I think. The blower pulley would work for both accessories?

It might be possible, but I think there would be an alignment issue that would cause the belt to wear pretty fast.

I have a JD 318 and a 47 snowblower. I am looking for the quick hitch and PTO drive for it. Just wondering if you have any ideas where to find something like that. Thanks. Your videos are very informant.

Hello, I read on a newsgroup that you had several copies of the M121020 aluminum pulley made. If this information is correct, do you have one left for sale please? And how much $$?

That is news to me. I attempted to have some copies made but due to increase in cost of material they were over $400 each. If you are interested in one for that price I can certainly ask the machine shop again.

I think I’ll stick to the 49 single stage much easier and won’t stick out so far.

I’ve always liked the performance of the 49 blower on our concrete driveway. The drifts from how open and wind prone our properly is coupled with gravel driveway are two big challenges for the single stage blowers.

When tightening the bolts on the pulley,would it be possible to turn on the electric clutch to tighten the bolts?

Is the 52 broom compatible with the front PTO on this? Any special driveshaft needed?

What size bolts did you use to attach the pulley

I honestly can’t remember. I’ll have to find the pulley. I remember I had to shorten them by about 1/4”

How much ballast are you going to have?

I’m not sure yet. I left the 3pt hitch on with the plan of using my old Cat 0 heavy hitch with weights for ballast. I may put some whee weights on if I am still unhappy. It’s going to be a big change for me, going from 4wd to 2wd and a significantly lighter machine.
