    Great vid, thx! I have the Epi Special, the 59 Standard, the Classic and the Custom. The Classic had the most flaws, i had my luthier re-wire it and put new pots and some SD pickups in. They all needed a good setup but after that they are great value for the money.

      That is an awesome collection ! And yes most of the Epiphones are great guitars and can be made used for many years but just needs little extra maintenance

    If you find the Peter Green “Greenie” or any high end Epiphone.Set up and comes with a cool epi case. I take Every guitar 🎸 to my local tech. He sets intonation and if any adjustments are needed he sets string height to my spec. I always use De Addario 09-42g strings. He sets pickup height and if any high frets he does what’s needed. I have 42 guitars of all types LP Telescope strats Epiphone each one done by my tech.

    My favorite is the custom. I have a 2001 made in Korea with a flamed maple top and cherry sunburst. I have a Gibson SG standard and I’d put the Epiphone against it anyway.

      That is awesome ! I have never been fan of the SG guitars because the weight distribution, so uncomfortable to play standing up.

      @@LambertDriveStudios Modern and classics are the same guitar with different tops. The only dif I think is the classic has grovers and the modern has lockers. I think.....

    Just got myself a epiphone lp ebony custom and am loving it. Could you elaborate on what exactly a "set up" means on your guitar. Sorry, I guess I'm a bit of a noob.

    • @LambertDriveStudios
      @LambertDriveStudios  Год назад +2

      Hey Aaron thanks for watching and commenting ! I probably should have done better job explaining in video , however I’m happy you asked and I can elaborate some more on setup.
      1. You want to make sure you adjust the saddle / bridge height so strings as close to frets as possible without touching , this will and the guitar easier to play and also tuning will hold better when you arnt having push string down a mile.
      2. Intonation when needed ( usually when seasons and temps change ) tune guitar as best as possible then press and note on 12th fret and double check that tuning is hold there , if not then you’ll need to move the saddles pieces forward or back with tiny screw driver to fine tune. There will be lots of RUclips vids on how to do with properly.
      Those are the 2 things I would start with; that should be manageable on your own. Let me if this helps !! Cheers

      Since 2008 I’ve been using mine and loving it. Just a quick setup once a year for some intonation adjustments and it’s good to go. It doesn’t leave my studio so it stays in good shape

My favorite guitar, though I would have never guessed it could be, is a Gretch G5220 and really want the Japan made one the G6228. Im in love with it and the tone is awesome

    Don't buy an Epiphone or Gibson, buy an FGN, Ltd, Yamaha, or literally anything else. I've played way too many bad Epiphones to ever even consider owning one.
