    Spannende Aufführung dieses romantischen Meisterwerks mit traumhaft schönen Töne der Solivioline und gut kontrollierten Töne anderer Instrumente. Der geniale Dirigent leitet das perfekt trainierte Orchester im inspirierenden Tempo mit völlig effektiver Dynamik. Die Tonqualität ist erstaunlich hoch als eine Aufnahme von mehr als sechzig Jahre vor. Alles ist ausgezeichnet!

    This is considered by many as the best of all his Bruch recordings, especially he augmented the run at the end of the 1st movement with finger octave.

      Yes it is a beautiful performance - romantic... But in my opinion David Oistrakh plays this even better, he has got the intensity which makes this music more than romantic...

    i found Kyung Wha Chung's Bruch Violin Concerto has a very similar tempo, love her version and this version by Milstein

    Milstein made sev r al studio recordings of the first Bruch. PITTSBURG!?Not crazy about everything M does. Heifetz has a style that heard sounds perfect but he plays this bery differently. Milstein is crisp. Maybe too crisp and fast in the energico. Jansen is incredible!

      You're right - Milstein's version is fine. But it lacks the intensity of David Oistrakh, his interpretion makes the music more than only beautiful and romantic... I haven't listened to Arthur Haifeis, but I will...
