    great tutorial! but i didn't understand the last part... how do you do to get the hand without the background? Thanks!

      Just add a premult node after your roto node or select premultiply by rgba in your roto node properties.. a little late but hope this helps !

    i m new to vfx and training rotoscoping... can u tell me how those second points are forming when u r working on those finger tip curves?

    • @malderafilm
      @malderafilm  7 лет назад +2

      Hi Sorry for the late answer. When you are creating those points you need to hold the button of you mouse and drag. Let me know if that works :)

      rajeshwar vishwakarma Hi, thanks for the comment and thanks for stopping by! What do you mean with face clean up?

    Quick question: There appears to be a decent amount of contrast/shadow on the left side of the hand, would color correcting and creating a luma matte here be an option?

    • @malderafilm
      @malderafilm  8 лет назад

      +Pat Br Thanks again for your comment. I agree with you! Considering the contrast/shadow you should be able to key the hand but I just wanted to show how to roto hands with just roto, track and the help of a grade. This was the only footage that I have available that could work for the purpose of my tutorial. I will try to create a tutorial in the future where I use more luma key or primatte.

    instead of babbling about how good are your videos in the last 5 minutes you could have shown us how to actually mask out that roto shape

    Have you ever used Natron? Are there any differences between Nuke and Natron?

    • @malderafilm
      @malderafilm  8 лет назад

      Hi! Thanks for stopping by and for the comment! I never heard of it! I have to do some research about it, are you using it?

    • @ritageraghty4404
      @ritageraghty4404 8 лет назад +1

      MalderaFilm&Digital, I am using Natron. It is a free open source and it is almost similar to Nuke. If you have been using Nuke for a long time, then you should feel at home with Natron. Most tools there are similar to Nuke. I am watching Nuke tutorials for Natron's sake, as there aren't many Natron tutorials in RUclips and Vimeo.
      I am only a newbie to node compositing for about two weeks. I am learning that in Natron, Blender, Fusion 8 and DaVinci Resolve. Fusion 8 (free version) is the easiest for me and I am fast learning node compositing through that software. Before Fusion, I was intimidated by node compositing in Blender. I avoided node compositing for a long time, until I gave it a go. Now I love it.
      I am also using Fusion 8 by BlackMagic and I love it. With beginner tutorials by Andrew Devis, I am fast learning node compositing with Fusion 8 and it helps me understand nodes in other softwares. I am now making comparisons in all the node compositing programs.
