As if it wasn't bad enough, Linus' immediate response to this criticism was to flat out lie about his communication with Billet Labs in a disgusting attempt to discredit Steve's reporting.

Its the fact they deliberately post videos knowing the data is bad/faulty and especially his response to GN shows he only cared about getting ahead of the situation, not making the situation right. I stopped watching Linus years ago. Once in a while I will sneak a video in here and there but I do not go out of the way.

graphics card (GeForce RTX 4090) it was NOT made for.

that the company wanted there water cooler heasink back, that was there ONLY prototype.

The misinformation is the least bad thing in this situation. The Billet and Madison situations are so, so, SO much worse than that
The Pwnage mouse as well. Honestly I don't believe everything Madison said. Shit, she claims she sliced her leg open so bad that she needed staples JUST for an excuse to get out of work? My wife works in mental health, normal people don't do that, especially not over a job. I do believe some of it though, as you can look through review sites like Glassdoor and see similar complaints from other past employees.
Regardless though it doesn't matter, the issues with their disregard for companies like Billet and Pwnage combined with the allegations from Madison are just massive fuel for the internet hate fire and unless they can prove that virtually everything Madison claims is false and provide a concrete, transparent plan on how to correct the company, then this could be the start of the end for them.

Few days ago one of their reviewers trashed gaming mouse for being too slow little did he know he didn't removed protective film from mouse sliders xD

And then tried to blame the company for not telling them they had to remove the protective film on the carbon legs, and thats a "professional reviewer" that brags about their 10+million dollar testing lab. And tried to hide the whole thing by editing the video to remove the part where the leg protectors are still on the mouse, but leaving the "friction" conclusion at the end.

TLDR GN critized a lot of aspects about LTT. Such as terrible testing accuracy and QC (publishing clearly wrong data and no one catching on) without proper correction, saying that a mouse sucked because they didn't remove the FKN PLASTIC TAPE AT THE BOTTOM, and shitting all over a unique enthusiast waterblock because it performed badly EVEN THOUGH THEY INSTALLED IT ON THE WRONG GPU. The waterblock company, which is a startup made from 2 people, then requested the £2k waterblock back, but Linus SOLD IT instead of giving it back and didn't refund the company until GN started criticizing them. GN thinks that the root cause is people being overworked and not having time to QC and redo videos. Linus also explicitly said that he doesn't want to spend $100-$500 to redo a clearly wrong video. Madison has also spoken up in recent tweets about a toxic work environment and sexual assault at LMG.
Also his response was so bad that basically his wife had to step in apologizing and telling everyone that Linus has been a fucking Human Gas Molecule (lul?) for years.

@@ako_0256 Pardon me. I mean Zen 2. When I was watching the Ryzen 7 3700X review, the CPU was as good as 9900K, IMO, better. Good game result, better production workloads result, but with lower power and cheaper. Somehow, LTT recommended 9900K. I felt so good that my B350 motherboard supported it, meanwhile my B250 motherboard that was bought earlier that time cannot support 9th Gen. Sorry for sounding like a fanboi but I don't like changing my motherboard every year or so...

It was bound to happen, theres way too many people working on the team and theres a lot micro managing involved as per reports online. Not to mention the testing team seemed a little bit smug about it.
This could've easily been a small bump on the road, by simply changing the video uploading schedule, apologizing and putting more informative Videos. Instead Linus refused to accept the reality which led to this situation. It's honestly sad to see

Remember when there was another claim of SA , but it got shut down for being false with evidence provided by linus himself live on the wan show. That claim also came a long while after it actually happened and also during a time where there was already some drama already. Seeing the similarities already? Innocent until proven guilty has to become the norm again to stop things like this from happening. @@Alfie0001 Linus was sent a prototype from a small company, they screwed up the testing, wrongfully said the product is garbage, when people pointed out their mistake they said it doesn't matter because nobody should buy it and sold the only prototype (possibly to the company competitors) in existence without any permission.
They basically destroyed that small company business through incompetence and arrogance.

Idk that situation reeks of embellishment. I believe a lot of what she says but some of her complaints are things that aren’t in context that bad. Such as being told to focus on grieving instead of work (yes I read her “explanation” but that feels more like her misinterpretation than the truth). The sexual harassment stuff though is awful.
Okay I'm going to assume some stuff and stereotype too. But I don't believe Maddison's S-assault claims to be true at all. She's a clever girl.. and you all can understand what might be going on with those allegations.

Tbf, we get many report of similar allegation on many corporation or group and proven not true. So i can understand if people not rushing to picking side. But i still hope they got some investigation to clear things up.

It is unbelievable for me, how much can money change somebody as passionate as Linus once was. It is clear that now he thinks about making maximum profit thus as much videos as possible in the shortest time and thus leaving quality behind. It’s really sad he can’t see his wrongdoings anymore and he’s so blind.

I can kinda see how someone can get to this point with good intentions. Like you're now responsible for the livelihoods of a bunch of other people, I imagine the pressure to keep making money is pretty high.

It was hard to make tbh because I love Gamer Nexus and I love Linus Tech Tips too, but some mistakes require the full acknowledged of the creator and I really hope that Linus Tech Media Group takes more care for their workers and produce more quality and informative videos for the viewers

linus tech tips was just exposed for inaccurate testing and reviews and instead of writing it off as a mistake, linus went on a rant , this is serious these guys effect product sales significantly and to find out their reviews and data might be incorrect is a huge hit

Between LTT and Blind Side Tuohys conservatorship over Michael Oher bombshell, it's hard to have faith in humanity right now.

Lol I was being overly dramatic to emphasize my point of feeling betrayed. I guess my hyperbole was poorly executed and lost on some folks humor bones. Oh well. In many ways the Michael Oher story is much sadder that the LTT revelations. Don't tell me y'all don't watch YT reviews to help with purchase decisions. Sure it's unwise to base a decision solely on one video, but incorporating these kind of tech videos from different well respected (or so I thought) content creators seems reasonable to me. Gamers Nexus has been a go to alongside others for me for buying PC parts, and their point in calling out LTT is that they should not mislead their consumer audience. Is that too much to expect?

- inability to take criticism,
- impossible to recognize one's mistakes, whenever possible blame others or else gaslight,
- manipulate to seek others approval,
- assuming they're valued more than others in people's views.
These people are dangerous, and least likely to ever take professional mental help, and you'd regret any amount of time you spend on them, whenever you see these warning signs you know it is best to steer away.

The really toxic ones that pretty much no one can help and which love to hurt compassionate people, and those who are self-conscious and after enough therapy are able to form friendships despite being tormented by their inner demons for life. I got caught onto a toxic one's web two years ago, and fortunately my interest in psychology and psychiatry minimized the harm done. Others aren't so lucky and she befriends them, thinking they are soulmates, and people think she is a good soul but merely high-maintenance. She's unfixable.
I have a friend who's also a trauma survivor, she's a wacko too (I'm a wacko too, just saying) and while she has BPD symptoms, she isn't evil, though she does unblock me every couple of months only to block me again soon after, a common friend says she got offended because I described my ideal soulmate that I came up with at 19 as having auburn hair, and she is Asian American 🤦♂️ She actually doesn't look that different from how women in my country look, and to top it off I have epicanthic folds despite being southern European, so I wouldn't discriminate against Asians, yet she feels that I "never gave her a chance because of her background" which is BS because 1) We are friends, and were a very good match when it comes to chatting and having serious conversations for almost a year. 2) While she had a crush on me before contacting me and for some time after that, she lives across the globe and we made it clear that I'm flattered she felt that, but that as she told she gets crushes often and knows it will go away, while our friendship can continue. But I haven't had more than 2 weeks of being unblocked since last summer... And she knew how dependent I was on communicating with her, because in recent years most of my friends turned out to be toxically depressed, schizophrenic or have unresolved trauma they haven't overcome even quarter-way.

Yes but lets be real, I think that anyone was able to see the lost of quality in their video and their errors without Steve even talking about. For me was mainly the fact that started to "review" less and less affordable hardware.

He posted on the forum that he won't do a wanshow about all of this and tried to play it down, and only when shit hit the fan did they release the apology video. Like Steve said, we already know now how the leaders of that company think, so the apology video was just for pr.

I really think what Steve mainly wanted to talk about was the Billet situation. He probably started to just deep dive into researching and upon finding a lot of errors built a substantial case. His video after where he talks about Linus's response is really what made me feel Steve really does care. The Billet and even the Pwnage situation rubbed me the wrong way cause LTT is taking the responsibility to provide data to consumers, and so we have to hold them to a higher standard. The Maddison situation is very disheartning too.
Nobody wanted to see this happen, but this is reality.

He always struck me as a "company man", always giving excuses for companies acting the way that they do. I think a lot of people sensed that something wasn't quite right early on, noting certain behavior patterns. I'm sure someone will dig through the trove of LTT videos and make a montage of every time Linus gave us hints that he was spinning a web of problems. They did it to Colleen Ballinger - they will do it with Linus as well.

I feel bad for billet and Madison, but i feel like the misinformation was the smallest problem here. I think the most important thing lost will be the community. I've fallen in love with the videos and their fans. Just as I discovered this community, big part of it was lost.
Misinformation is no small thing when it is in every video and is clearly of human error. Inaccurate data is unfair data and can impact in the wrong conclusions, hinder advancement, poorly informed buying decisions among consumers and can negatively impact the companies or people making the hardware. From an ethical standpoint it's completely wrong and should not happen. Don't take it lightly.

Imagine someone had treated a prototype of their screwdriver like they treated Billet Lab's prototype. They would be pulling all the stops and going to war with their entire legal department.
They release too many vidoes per week and that is costing them to make a lot of shortcuts and mistakes, but what is truly eye opening the Billet lab stuff and what they did to Madison. That is not just a mistake, that shows bad at least bad middle management and leadership if not nefarious.

Until they address the issues Madison brought to light, I'm gonna be very wary of LMG.
Success can become one’s downfall sometimes. Linus has created a fantastic company and a very successful one to boot. However Linus completely screwed the pooch on this. It’s going to take a Herculean effort to recover from this. I know I’m not alone in saying I’ve lost a great deal of respect for him because of this.
A clear example of a Napoleon complex. He didn't even have a person next to him with enough impact to say he should just shut the hell up at least.
Linus's apology video is such on a stereotypical corporate level. The dude can't even make it a proper apology video by himself and at least show some sincerity instead he had to take his entire camera crew with lighting, makeup and an entire studio setting to make one for him.

Really not sure about the Madison thing. The being yelled at and expected to do more work than "was possible" could be chalked up to her not really working hard enough/not being used to working in a corporate environment.
The sick days thing, pretty much every company doesn't like you using sick days and pushes back.
The sexual misconduct allegations are extremely serious, and even with the sick days thing, she felt enough mental anguish to cut herself rather than go into work, so that's awful.
On the other hand, evidence is what is needed. Such serious allegations can destroy people's lives, so there has to be some serious backing up of this stuff, and frankly if true, she should set up a GoFundMe to take them to court.
In terms of the work load though it's a 100% accurate ltt literally has a video of all there employees saying they wish it was less.
The issue is they now have an actual team that does the work they expected her to personally do. They know damn well that what they were demanding of her was ridiculous.

its a long thread that gives one perspective of what seems to be the tip of the iceberg of their workplace culture. Frankly, I'm not that surprised because some of it seeps into the videos with the way they "roast" employees. Its also reflected in the general unhappiness with the way things are going even on camera (there was that video where pretty much all the employees complained about not having enough time for anything and that was an edited video!)
