Only thing I would change with this Mini is that I'd put the previous analog speedometer instead of that five inch instrument display flat display. Glad Mini kept the big circle in the center console and maintained the tradition of the Mini. The Mini is the best looking of all the modern, "retro" cars.
After 25 yrs in my E36, I got a Mini S. Now, everyday, I get to go to Disneyland twice a day! Once on my way to work, and once on the way home. #BeMini
The handles are designed for you to use your right hand to open, (left, in the passenger seat) as by doing so you are forced to turn and look behind you before exiting the vehicle. Good approach to safety.
Love these Mini's my first car I bought at 16 was a 68' Cooper S. These do have a little more creature comforts than the old ones but nothing like the oldies. Great look at this little car. Thanks Kevin.
I remember a german car dealer told me from 2020 all mini cooper's have something called like shifting assist. Whenever you push the pedal the engine raises the RPM slightly by itself so that shifting into next gear is more smoth
My family bought a 2022 Cooper S Clubman (F54) for the exact reasons that you mentioned: safety, size (can fit my teenagers), and it's fun to drive. Plus I got a comfortable interior, WITH POWER SEATS (that was a must), and all the bells and whistles as part of a package when they price them as add ons in the smaller models. I feel like I got a lot more for my money. Also, I have a manual transmission and I like the stop/start function. It doesn't interfere with my driving since the car restarts as soon as I depress the clutch--it also restarts itself if I sit at a stop too long -- and it helps save on fuel. However, as you said, you can turn it off if it bugs you.
Excellent review. We have a '22 S, 2-door, Signature trim. After 6 months with the car, I agree with all of your comments. We wish it had blind spot warning. Power seats would be nice, too. And some of the features we'd like just weren't worth paying up for. Overall, it's a great little car and we enjoy it a lot.
Nice relaxing review . Don’t have any experience with minis, but always thought it’s a cute looking iconic British cars. Have had several bmws, so feels familiar with minis performances . Keep up the good work.
I have a fully loaded JCW and it's the dog's shiny bits, yes it's small but the give away to that is in the name MINI so is most suitable for owner's who don't normally carry adult passengers, just a small child or two maybe? I don't understand why in the comments some posters think they are unreliable, maybe way back in the past with the Peugeot engine but today's MINI is a premium built BMW with many of it's parts including the new BMW B48 engine used in many other cars across their range, suppose mud sticks but hey people open up.
How far back can the front drive seat go when you fold the back seats down, Im 6'2, always wanted one of these, but would have the back seats down all the time for golf clubs etc.
@@morganlingsweiler9813 They upped the price, but the sunroof is now standard. I found that you can delete the sunroof in an ordered car, but the price is the same, as the price is the same for manual and automatic gearbox.

I saw a dude drive a pink 9ne with a very girly paint job it had kittens painted on it too 🤣😂🤣 I could tell the poor guy who had to borrow it from his lady was sooo embarrassed to drive it 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I will say this about the Mini I tested here as well as the Wrangler 4xE I tested, never has a vehicle gotten so much attention from the ladies 😅😂 a lady walking her dog waved at me in the mini that's probably reason enough for most people to get one lol
Probably not since this was a manufacturer press car and BMW probably doesn’t have anymore Mini’s in their fleet to give to journalists mainly because these don’t sell and Mini is going full EV moving forward
@@MeynMotorGroup Thanks for the heads up..hopefully they up the range for their future EV cars cuz that instant torque would be a blast to drive in these cars
No safety gadgets? Yes please, I'll take two. Beeping this and that safety rubbish is an awful distraction. If you know how to drive and you actually watch what you're doing, the absence of all of these warning systems shouldn't be a concern.
Their sales have started slow over the past couple years but certainly no one has referred to Mini as junk they are definitely well received cars known for their driving
@@MeynMotorGroup I hope so but I'm assuming the guys who tell me they are junk never drove one or worked on one I guess they just think it's kind of girly but I don't think any vehicles are made girly 😂
Current Consumer Report puts MINI in the top ten for reliability. MINI redid engines, transmissions, and manufacturing processes in 2014. Reliability is fine now.
