Great list and damn close to mine. I just recently got into and finished Bloodlines on expert despite purchasing when you could buy a cardboard re-release at least 10 years ago! Bloodlines is the best Castlevania I've completed. I have to go with SOR 2 at #1 as generic a pick as it is. Still play it with family to this day. 2. Ghouls and Ghosts 3. Bloodlines 4 Contra Hard Corps 5. Revenge of Shinobi by a hair over III. Strangely, I just received my Mega Turican Strictly Limited copy yesterday! Can't wait to dive into that and plan to try Shining Force one day.

The Altered Beast Genesis bundle was my first console bought with my own money. My hats off to you cuz It’s too difficult for me to pick a top 5. What? People hate the SoR 2 box art? No way! That’s from the legend Mick McGinty! Also the artist for the NTSC covers of Street Fighter II. 🤙🏻 SoR 2 really is one of the best if not the best Beat Em Up ever! I have so much to learn still about the Genesis Library. Great video man. 🍻🤙🏻

I 1cc'd Bloodlines not too long ago and, while it's not quite as difficult as some of the other Castlevania games, I was still proud of myself.
Also: even though I'm a SNES fanboy, I feel that Bloodlines outclasses Super Castlevania 4 in the gameplay department. Not the audio/visual department, but it's just a funner game to play
i just got into Bloodlines as well and has climbed into my favorites. Have beaten it with both characters on expert. It's gameplay definitely is better than CV 4 on SNES
@@zajicapp Yep -- and the visuals come close too! But the SCV4 soundtrack is one of the best in the history of gaming, so I gotta give it that

The graphics on Shining Force 2 are just amazing. The way some of those spells hit is better than stuff on other systems before and after Genesis 😃

1. Gunstar Heroes
2. Castlevania Bloodlines
3. Streets of Rage 2
4. Mega Turrican
5. Rocket Knight Adventures
Always subject to change as I'm still discovering Genesis games that I never got to play as a kid. Mega Turrican is a prime example. First time I played that was this year and wow what an absolute gem that I missed out on in my childhood. Shinobi III is literally right there though and could easily be Top 5 for me, so many great Genesis games.
Very solid list! It was rough leaving Gunstar Heroes and RKA off my list! I also like how you say “so far” my list is ever evolving too. Great post!
Kid Chameleon: I am guessing (just a wild guess) that it's a game you haven't given a solid 30 minute try yet, and I'd recommend it.

Great video!!! I need to open my mind a bit and try an RPG. I own the original Shining Force and I need to try it. Shinobi 3 is absolutely fantastic and I have Mega Turrican pretty high up on my want list ! SOR2 is no doubt in my top 5 and Bloodlines is a masterpiece! Great list and I agree it’s tough to narrow down to 5. FYI I almost always play as Eric when I play Bloodlines haha something about that spear!
Oh man yeah you need to try Shinning Force man. It’s really a lot of fun and is done very well. Man Eric is my normal choice too. The Genesis had so much to offer. Thanks for watching and the kind words.

just needed a Sonic 2 or 3 (w/knuckles) and an NHL 94 shout out at least in an honarable mention catagory and it would have been perfect.
