@@CosmoHQ loving the distro! Super slick! Will HHD/decky loader/plugin be added at some point for handhelds? It runs so good on my legion go besides that
Nice review, this is exactly what i was looking for a few years ago - on Arch these days but I always thought there was a space for a debian based distro setup like this. edit - noticed they've chosen kisak ppa - i used oibaf for years with no issue that would be good to default or set to.
The experience I had with pika was the surprise if my machine did boot after an update/upgrade. After two weeks my computer broke down and I had to reinstall everything again. When they switch to Debian sid I will try it again.
If arch had better package support or less aur(more into pacman), and apx imo it would have been great, respect for all the projects out there but we to solve the problem of the fragmentation... That said i will consider pikaOS to a friend looking for advise starting on linux, he is leaning towards ubuntu with deepin and will see apx to see how integrated apps are with the desktop as a reference point.
That market has been already saturated with many awesome distros, where we bring so little to the table we are better off joining another distro The Debian/Ubuntu space however, has no distro that fit our team use cases, So we will handle that space Also our teams has a personal preference to deb based stuff
@@CosmoHQ Hey.. Thanks for reply. I understand your point of view. While it is true that Arch has many variants but I would argue none are as good as Pika unfortunately. Keep in mind that as a fellow Distro Maintainer (ex-) I do understand the work it takes to do so. Best of luck with future releases. I, myself am an Arch tool dev/maintainer so can't move away, too much invested (3 years+)..
Nice review. Minor thing, that common annoying phrase, "Let's get into it!" is meaningless, as you could have actually "got into it" without the delay of repeating that trite expression.

Why is PikaOS not on distrowatch at all? It doesn’t even make the top 100 distros.
This was a good one thank you. I might have to give this a try!
I have it running on my laptop and I’m pretty pleased with it.
Brazilians reading that distro name: 😂😂😂😂
What do Brazillians think of Pokemon then? Pika is just a short name for Pikachu.
@@tristen_grant Pika is a sinonimum for the male sword
looks awesome and i love birbs, so..

Thanks. One of the better looks on PikaOS I've seen.
Yes, this is beaultiful PIKA, I'm not really into PIKAS but this one... Oh, this one... It's something else.

What packages are you missing on Arch? I haven't had any issues in that regard.
Quick question, what are the advantages of using pikaOs instead of nobara ??
please test biglinux
Reading the title as any other country: :)
Reading it as a brazilian: >_
The Godfather of PikaOS is The Pikafather 😅
Thats not what a Godfather is.
Time to move it to Arch .. Sid is good but Arch would be even better lol...

PikaOS = Debian Sid
CachyOS = Arch BTW
Anyone who doesn't already know what Nobara is will have no idea what you're saying when you pronounce it

True, at least it triggered you to write this comment: win win situation
