Once again, another great video. I found that with the basic default scheduler, (which was scx_bpfland), I was getting sound pops in games like Ghost of Tsushima. When I tried rusty, the issue went away. Keep up the great work. You have really helped me understand how CachyOS is one of the best Arch Linux distros out there with all their performance tweaks available. I love the Arch distros, but CachyOS is great to get a very performance-enhanced Arch install out of the box without too much manual configuration needed. This has helped me get Ghost of Tsushima running at 1080p with 60 fps on my lowly GTX-1660 in Wayland.

I am pretty sure rustland is the default one. Maybe I am out of the loop though 😅

@@karnimux For some reason, it wasn't for me. I had to set rusty as the default. Not sure why that is. Maybe at some point, I modified it to bpfland but I don't ever remember going through all the steps I did to change it from bpfland to rusty. In any case, sound stuttering is gone now. And I'm getting a nice 60 fps on my GTX-1660 for Ghost of Tsushima now. Yes, I have to use FSR 3, but hey, at least I'm getting stable framerates now at balanced mode and it looks nice still. 😀

I just did some CS2 benchmarking on windows 11, fedora stock and TKG Bore kernel, wayland and x11. Interesting results:
    Fedora 40
    Overall Performance (FPS)
    Configuration Average FPS
    Windows 11 447.2
    Wayland, Stock 399.15
    X11, Stock 398.2
    Wayland, TKG BORE 420.7
    X11, TKG BORE 493.35
Windows 11 outperforms most Linux configurations except for X11 with the TKG BORE kernel.
This is the downloadable benchmark from marketplace (dust2), i did 2 runs of everything to make sure the fps is consistent and it was.

    LTO boosted my Squad 100%, 4k ultrawide 1080ti 3700x
    Local training server medium graphics
    W11: 50fps
    CachyOS: 55fps
    COS+LTO 105fps.
Online server depends (weird), some full servers only got 55-70fps but some i got 90-100fps even on full big map and multiple maps.

Unpopular opinion : The default distro kernel does the job in 99% of the cases. The rest is on the edge optimizations for benchmarks or making some game from unplayable to barely playable in very weak machines

Disagree. GNU/Linux is a server OS first and it's just now starting to take desktop workflows seriously. The kernel wasn't originally intended for the things people are trying to do desktop-client side right now, as again, it's a server OS from the 80's. These newer kernels exist to be optimize for desktop workflows specifically
