Deep within the depths of my subconscious where my earliest forgotten memories lie, only the clock tower would make the occasional resurfacing to my adult mind. I've been trying to recall what this game was for YEARS with nothing but that clock tower as a clue. This game and "Millie's Math House" are time machines back into the consciousness of my five year old self. They are beacons of the logs of my most primordial memories. I hope to share these games with my own children someday!
Same bro
The ONLY thing I remembered was that clocktower and the rabbit, it’s been bothering me for years, I thought I’d never find it again…but this is it!!! I can’t believe it. Hilarious how much I suddenly recall! Thanks for posting
Reader was such a cool rabbit back in my days! 🐇
I agree 100%!
I remember absolutely struggling with the prop sorter but I don't remember what part of it was so hard for me😂😂 thanks so much for the upload, sucks I can't find my old blocky dell!!
I remember playing Reader Rabbit 1st Grade. When I was 8, I played the game at my old-neighbor's house before I moved. By the time I got to the 7:00 hour, his computer died on him! What a shame. Spike has taken over the show. Nine years later, I played the game in FULL and I've beaten the game!
Ah that's good ya did indeed get to finish it! Yeah I first ever finished the game at around 10pm on a monday night on our compaq computer in our dining room a few days before the last day of 1st grade back in June 2001! I was pumped to beat it and then my dad said its time for bed and I felt happy.
Two possible days for that, June 4th or June 11th 2001. No way anyone would be in school on June 18th unless you were in summer school lol
i Remember play this game when i was young :)
I see that you played through the 2000 version of this kids' PC game, which features Learning Creations as a bonus game. I had both games on one disc when I was a kid. After 20+ years, I decided to finally give them another try since I vaguely remember playing them back in the day. Both of them were fantastic! Reader Rabbit 1st Grade has a good storyline about a fun show. The original 2000 version of Learning Creations contains interesting activities about arts and crafts. Thank you for uploading this walkthrough of both games since it brings back good memories!
By the way, I like the idea of Reader Rabbit mentioning the player's first name if it's inserted in a profile name in the original 2000 version of Learning Creations. It is a very cool feature since it makes the player feel like the guest star.
With Reader rabbit going into his smiling pose after being animated to move it’s like he gets off telling people bad news and watching their reactions
😂 I noticed that too, good catch.
Unlocking really old memories here
Lmao I came for the feels. Remembering when I was a kid
I am literate thanks to reader rabbit lol. I have been getting my 4yr old started on abcmouse, and it made me think of reader rabbit. I spent so many hours playing reader rabbit among other educational programs.
I still have this. Before anyone comments, I'm not a kid and I had this game since 1998.
Okay, what would happen if Kuki Sanban pointed a real gun at Spike, what would everyone in Wordville say to her if they saw her pointing a real gun at Spike?
@@bendonovan9244 Stop letting your imagination run wild.
This was the era of gaming
This need to be on Steam.
Respect to Seannnnnnnnn for making a 2 hour video of this 👌👏👏😂😂u passed 1st grade in 2 hours
Definitely played this one. Pretty sure I beat it too, favorite one must have been either the costume or the painting, since I remember sitting in front of my XP computer for hours on end figuring those out lol
Spike scared me as a kid! XD
8:34
Caillou: Oh no! The play is ruined!
Cody: Ugh, you're like 20 something years old and you're still playing Reader Rabbit?
Caillou: I have to save the play!
Cody: Screw the play! In fact, screw this game! Spike sounds like that goody goody Gary Oak from that Pokemon anime and the chipmunk sounds like Buster from Arthur, even though thats not actually his voice actor.
Caillou: Wait, how do you know that Cody?
Cody: I looked it up, God you know how to run an old game from the 90s but can't Google something?
Caillou: I have to save the play!
Cody: ...You know what Caillou? I think this game is perfect for you. Have fun!
Caillou: Spikes not going to get away with this!
Ha ha ha ha, perhaps I should do a video of that. Or even a one where Cody is Spike and Caillou is Reader Rabbit! Also for some god forsaken reason I wasn't subbed to you! Welp I fixed that mistake!
Thanks bro appreciate you very much! I'm really behind on my videos but I'll have something out soonish!
The Clocktower used to scare me as a kid. Don't know why...
I love the frustrated mouse shakes when they talk to long lol
Yeah mouse shaking can show a lot :D
Sunday funday song was a bop
Whole archive of my mind has been opened🤣
I remembered that this was text to voice with names. I used to have fun with that
Yeah it seemed pretty innovative for the time. Nowadays i'm sure a lot of programs can do it now.
I loved this game as a kid 🙈🤍✨
It's been a long time since I play reader rabbit.
So these personalized versions basically just add rubber-banding (albeit in a less bullshitty form) to the base game?
When you accidentally clicked "char" when you meant to click on "star", it made me think that "Char" can be short for "charming"!
I feel bad for the Porcupine T_T
Just hug him while wearing a suit of armor!
@@pchound5962 No I will hug him with my soft and cuddly body 😊
8:09-8:21 Princess Peach: *Punches Spike the porcupine*
2:03 POP(Program Options Pad): Okay, let’s boot things up here! You can go have fun with some mini games, or we can get to rehearsing for the big variety show! Reader’s idea!
First comment. Wow, I didn't know there was a older version of these minigames! :D Could you please record and upload all of the treehouse radio music? :)
Yeah certainly. The only thing is the personalized 1st grade doesn't have the organ music. You'd think the organ music would be in this one like the 2nd great game but no. My guess is after they made this game they realized they never put a minigame on the organ and decided to only include it in the updated reader rabbit games.
I made a video now with all the music choices
@@MrLyosea I had RR 2nd Grade that came with Learning Creations, which had just the organ and drum activities. All of the sound files from the calendar and painting activities are in the game, but they're not used.
I'm in 12th Grade and I still have yet to beat this game
@thanomyloans2585 I don't know
MY CHILDHOOD
HOW IN THE WORLD CAN READER RABBIT SAY YOUR NAME????
8:16 Kuki Sanban: *Pulls out a real gun and points it at Spike the porcupine* Don't you dare!
2:14 press N to SHAUNNNNNNNNN!
2:25 POP: Or, if you’ve been here already, just click on your name! Then hit that Start button!
2:05:52 if clicking on the rope quits the game, does clicking the raccoon quit the game too?
Reader Rabbit looks like Buster Bunny from "Tiny Toon Adventures"!
i love the butch lesbian beaver
8:20 Kuki Sanban: *Gets a gun and shoots Spike right in his arm*
only the deaths of my gradparents would ever change my father.
8:20 If you do this Spike I will call your mom and dad!
I always struggled the most with the silly script game
How do you get it to run?!
What I did was use a program called Virtualbox and installed Windows XP on it then installed the 32bit Colors drivers and then finally installed the Reader Rabbit iso onto Windows XP.
Mister Lyosea thank you so much.ive got a mountain of old games and had nothing that old to run them
