Hoist Goes Hollywood | Transformers: Generation 1 | Season 2 | E38 | Hasbro Pulse
Hollywood productions don't always run smoothly, and one case almost sees stuntmen in for real-life trouble. Fortunately, tragedy is averted in the nick of time by Hoist. Since mere thanks aren't enough, Hoist now has a shot at being on the silver screen. Could Hollywood be ready for Hoist and his entourage Sunstreaker, Powerglide, Warpath, and Tracks? More importantly, can they overcome a Decepticon plot involving Dirge and one of Wheeljack's inventions? The answers may be more exciting than the movie itself.

If transformers were real and they were in bayfilms that's what they'd say
@@blueraccoon1088 a good thing the Bumblebee Film refreshed our minds.
lol XD
It’s so fast 😂😂😂
I love this part 😂😂😂
Harrold Edsel = Harrison Ford
Karen Fishhook = Carrie Fisher
For those who didn't pick up on the pun in the actor's names.
Also explains her hairstyle!
@12:31 Dash Jordan = Flash Gordon?
And the director is basically George Lucas without the beard.
@@Nergalsama01 In the G.I Joe Episode "Lights! Camera! Cobra!" there was a Director named George Landisburg who looked somewhat similar to this guy
@@fabianrocha9924 Oh wow, that's a wonderful mashup. XD
Michael Bay should have taken cues: they want real acting instead of just crashing into things and being props for some humans.
It’s like the episode was satirizing Michael Bay before he was, well, Michael Bay.
And don't forget about the explosions
Oh cry me a river.
"Wait, wait, you're thinking. Bay doesn't like that. Just drape yourself over a car and look hot."
Destroy All Man!!!!!!!
Man, does anyone notice how angry Megatron is in this episode? I know he's usually aggressive at times, but holy crud. In this episode, he seem more angry than usual, such as when he almost murder Starscream.
Guess he was having a bad day.
Sometimes he is too happy like the joker because he spends too much time taunting and others he is frustrated at incompetent decepticons. Not everyone is up to soundwave and laser beak's performance. Personally I prefer the happy megatron not the ruthless darth vader one. It shows he isn't in control.
That's mostly at fault at the writer of this episode, Earl Kress. He tended to use Starsrceam as a Waspinator-ish comic relief.
Except that this time he actually went so far as to actually injure and disable Starscream. He doesn't usually do that. I've always taken this episode to mean he's kind of finally reached his limit. Or yeah, perhaps it was really just a bad day: those other three jets could have that affect on anybody.
They may have made megatron more aggressive in the build up to the movie
Seems his anger in general and specifically towards Starscream gradually builds up over a few episodes. Triple Takeover when Starscream and the Triple Changers tried to usurp him. And then in Prime Target Starscream was taunting Megatron. At this point he had simply had enough.
To take it one step further, this may have then led to Starscream losing it a few episodes later in Starscream's Brigade when he shot Megatron in the back and was banished. He then built the Combaticons and started a Decepticon civil war.
Or maybe I am reading too much into it and Megatron was really only having a bad day XD
I love the part where he says "It's Hoistin' Time" and proceeds to Hoist the shit out of Megatron.
Truly, one of the episodes of all time!
I love how Megatron is just done iwth Starscream's shit in this one. He spends half the episode blaming Starscream for literally everything then goes wrong, then straight up murders him for a minor failure.
It’s even more funny when you realize starscream is completely absent in the next couple of episodes after this. Sad but hilarious
This is a kids show
I thought megatron killed screamer when I first saw this back in 85
I guess he woke up on the wrong side of the bed
@@Faker-freddy Cartoons were mainly directed to kids but sometimes they would chuck in a mature episode with adult themes in it that also appeals to kids. That's when I like the cartoons the most.
I found it hilarious that the protagonists were mostly secondary Autobots in this episode yet the antagonists were still the main core of characters from the Decepticons. Optimus didn't even have to lift a finger to foil Megatron's plans.
Megatron's plans were foiled before the episode began as Wheeljack's invention never DID work. He'll devote a lot of time and energy fixing it and trying it out before he realizes that it doesn't work and he'll be enraged when he learns the truth while Starscream laughs at him for his failure which of course will lead Megatron to kick his butt again....
2:42, "Good job moist." Hoist proving he just as good fiddling with the autobot females as he is at fiddling with saving lives.
I'd like to compliment Earl Kress on actually reading the show's bible and assembling all the Autobot glory-hounds for the episode instead of just selecting random characters.
Also, Megatron's abuse of Starscream is more ridiculous than ever, with him blaming the Air Commander for messing up things he had absolutely nothing to do with. Kind of reminded me of that scene in Family Guy where a steroid-raging Peter can't cut his steak so he punches Meg in the face for no reason.
Exactly, but..... Blue streak and Brawn should have also been there, lol.
I never really thought of Warpath as a glory-hound, loud and boisterous yes, but not a glory-hound. Everyone else it’s spot on.
@@belldn3 Bluestreak just likes to talk, and Brawn would have no use for make-believe. He likes to show his machoness in "real life".
Maybe Starscream ought to join with the Autobots.
@@belldn3 Bluestreak isn't a glory hound. He just talks a lot because of his nervousness.
I don't know what y'all talking about but the director calling him moist is hysterically funny....and not one time did he correct him absolutely hilarious😁✌🌊
Also at 11:38 Tracks's name is spelled "Trucks"
The fact that the director keeps making so many changes, additions, and improvisations to the film to the point that he even changes it into a sci-fi film makes this episode even more hilarious. 🤣🤣🤣
Considering the crap that Starscream went through at the hands of Megatron, and how most of it was unwarranted (this time), no wonder Starscream is constantly trying to overthrow him.
Most of it was unwarranted?????? Are you sure?
@@daothucanh9621 In this instance, this episode? Yeah, I'd think so
@@alfa1134 In this episode, yes. Just that your original comment said it “most of the time”, which is not true because in G1 Starscream deserves most of his beating. In fact, I'm surprised that Meg still keeps him around after all that treachery
@@daothucanh9621 Did you not see the "this time" in parentheses? That means that I was only referring to the abuse Starscream went through in this singular episode as being unwarranted.
Starscream leads the Seekers, a relatively powerful Decepticon faction, and Megatron therefore promoted him to second in command to ensure his support. However the two seriously don't get along. Also Starscream isn't the only Decepticon vying for the top job - as soon as Megatron was physically disabled by Optimus Prime during the REAL Transformers movie the other Decepticons threw him out an airlock and broke up into brawling camps supporting their chosen candidates (Starscream, Soundwave and Devastator being the main contenders).
13:55 Perceptor casually infiltrates the Deceipticons again....
LOL I've never notice that before. I guess this is what happens when you have to crank out 49 episodes in one season.
Perceptor: I’ve been with the deceptions 3 months now and they still haven’t noticed lol
This episode proved Megatron weren't the great leader claimed to be. Starscream was just the scapegoat
13:53 Starscream: Megatron, i'm too valuable to...
What did Starscream muffled after that? LMAO
"I'm too valuable to this-" *muffles "to this", then more muffled sounds until stopping*
I don't know but it's funny as hell.
😁😄😆😂🤣
It was because Megatron was ripping out his vocal circuits.
as far as I can tell he said something like I'm too valuable to be disabled this way.
“Now get those Autobots out of the way, and get that negative! And I want it NOW!!”
Tracks: I feel like a fool.
Sunstreaker: Do you wanna quit?
Tracks: No but I still feel like a fool.
I stg some of this dialogue XD
Anyone notice Perceptor 13:57 casually standing there watching Megatron disable Starscream and then bark orders?
It’s a miscolored Soundwave.
13:54 Megatron ripping Starscream's guts out!😆
Poor Starscream...
That not funi
He tore out his voice box! 😆
Megatron is having a Bad day.
11:39 Those have to be largest folding chairs I have ever seen.
I know right. 😂😂😂
...and definitely not made of shoddy material.
You’d think Megatron would’ve known if that device worked or not before he stole it. Or just have given it to Shockwave to repair it. Just saying, even Wheeljack, the dude who made the doohickey, pointed out Megatron’s stupidity in trying to steal it.
Megs thought that anything wheljack made or didn't work could be used against the autobots megs came with some good plans but this one was a dud
The plot requires it to not work.
Megatron was being short sighted.
Espionage and stealing is only as good as you understand what's going on on the first place. It's like getting a coded message from the enemy without deciphering the code.
Invasion of the Alien Robots still looks more watchable than any of the Bayverse movies.
Nah.
I watched the first Bayverse movie about a month ago and I don't remember much of it
Or at least the riffing would be.
The EVIL alien robots
Y’all need to calm down with “ALL bayverse movies this, ALL bayverse movies that”
Not ALL of them are bad
This episode tells me Carly should've been the protagonist.
She seems way more competent than Spike.
She goes to MIT after all while Spike is just an oil rig worker.
Same goes with Alexis (from Armada anime) that acts more mature than her 2 classmates
Spike is still a teenager (at most 15 yo) and Carly is an MIT graduate. Since we never see Spike in school and working with his dad, I assume Spike is a HS dropout.
@@Kat_MacGrath Carly is featured prominently in the Desertion by the DinoBots 2-parter.
@@crimsoncherry7399and Sari from Animated. Before being revealed as a Techno Organic from Cybertron.
I like the detail of the Decepticons misspelling "Closed" as "Cllose".
They forgot to install the spell check software in those Decepticons
Skywarp did it.
This episode revealed who are the most egotistical autobots.
Too bad Sky Lynx wasn't in this episode.
@@kirongauff4934 I concur.

So the team for this episode is Hoist and the Egobots.
Eat your matrix-hearts out, Stunticons!
@@ai6894 they would be created a few episodes later
13:54 WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY BABY!!!???
An Autobot became a movie star and more Autobots joined in to be movie stars too. I like that.
11:40 'TRUCKS'🤣🤣🤣
Must be Japan spelling
Surprised Sunstreaker didn’t get butchered into Suntweaker haha
13:33 Starscream knew he fucked up again! Listen to his voice!😂
13:50 Probably a coincidence but after that Starscream only appeared again 3 Episodes later(He didnt appear in "The Key to Vector Sigma" Parts 1 and 2 and "Aerial Assault" then returned in "War Dawn")
Wonder how he came back
21:19 wheeljack’s laugh is too cute 😭
Great episode. I bought the Earthrise Hoist and he seems to get ignored in the toy lines. He drags injured guys back to base so perhaps he is ignored because he isn't the most flashy autobot.
Too many autobots in one group everybody not gonna get their just due
@@chrisedwards3214 This is why Beast Wars was so successful because you could focus in on characters and get deeper stories.
13:53
Megatron: “Disable this- Ouweuow”.
Like what…?
starscream just exists in this ep and megatron immediately ready to throw hands
I just realized that Alan Oppenheimer voices not only warpath in this episode but also the human director 😳👌👏😍
11:36 “There.”
In this Episode Megatron has a very bad Day, more than ever 🤣
So, that's Michael bay and this is behinds scenes of the first transformers movie (2007).
Love him or hate him, you can't help but feel that Starcream was nothing more than just a punching bag for Megatron to take his anger out on everytime he messes up or wouldn't admit to his own mistakes. Most times you normally want Megatron to blast Starscream into pieces which he would do eventually in another form but here, i couldn't help but feel a little bit sorry for him but because it was so funny to see Megatron manhandle him, that moment quickly left hahaha
19:30 Megatron: Dummies
Whatever megatron yanked out of starscream must have been pretty vital, he was AWOL for a couple of episodes after this
3:11 the look on carlys face is funny when the director calls her spikes girlfriend.
Well, Spike and Carly do eventually get married, but I assume they at least wait for Spike to turn 18 first.
If this wasn’t made back in the 80’s. I would’ve thought Michael Bay wrote and directed this episode of Transformers because Everything in this episode look like it came from a Michael Bay Movie. LOL! 😂
Same here. I watch this episode one night on the HUB. It was a year after Dark of the Moon came out.
The G1 Season 2 was the best of the G1 series. It was the longest I think too. Transformers should be ranks as the greatest cartoon of all time or at least be in the top ten GOAT.
Lol
@Megatron Leader of The Decpticons LMAO
Man I love g1 but season 1 for me is better than season 2. Season 2 is longer tho 😃
Season 1 is better
“…uh, oh yeah- the robot. Okay, *Moist*….Pick up a donut from the catering truck and relax…”
This is all so much better than I remembered!
This episode in a nutshell predicts them to be in REAL to be in Hollywood. Unfortunately in bayverse first? Then Travis knight saves them.
How did Travis Knight save them? Bumblebee movie is only watchable for the first 5 minutes. Then after that, it is boring with teenager drama that I slept halway through the movie. I found Charlie and other humans annoying. Bumblebee movie still has the same problem as Bay movies for focusing too much on humans. Charlie's storyline is just a copy-pasted from other cheesy movies. I never like those movies as I am a horror and action movies fan.
18:31
*YOU MUTANT MECHANOID!!!*
13:52 Starscream: I'm too valuable to disable bledisouweuow...
20:21 Why would Megatron with all his intelligence and experience believe such an act..?
13:53 - Damn! That’s uncalled for Megatron. Violation of Starscream’s First Amendment rights. 😃
We never did find out what Wheeljack's contraption ever did...🤔 a true MacGuffin device indeed!
Imagine if that thing suddenly did work indeed....and all they only get in return is the cybertronian equivalent of a coffee machine. It doesn't even make energon, it simply uses energon to make the transformer version of wake-up coffee.
I mean, Skywarp and Blitzwing would appreciate it but still.
"Brilliant deduction, Sherlock." Because Carly wasn't allowed to say "No sh*t, Sherlock."
No shit, Sherlock.
This predicted the bay films and how the transformers were largely ignored and also the groomsmen side as seen here 13:52
Starscream got to be Megatron’s personal rag doll for the day😂😂. I actually felt a little bad for him
21:22 here the device is finally turns back to its original colour! Thank god!
11:39 Trucks!😂
12:03 is no one going to mention that building in the background looks like the imperial executive building from Star Wars? In fact the whole background in that scene looks like coruscant.
The actress cracked me up: each time she ran up to "My Hero", the setting got more absurd, and her animation got worse!
The director calling him moist has killed me off
Same😂
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Egolympics. Seriously, I think the writer just looked through the series bible to find every conceited, egotistical Autobot and put them in the script.
Better than just picking several names from a hat.
11:39 the fact the autobots has their chairs with their names is so cute and funny to me
“…uh, oh yeah- the robot. Okay, *Moist*….”
This is all so much better than I remembered!
13:30 DAMN Soundwave wanted to see blood spill
I am guessing Megatron had a run-in with a time-traveling Galvatron, and some insanity rubbed off on him.
I was gonna make a similar joke, but then I figured since Megatron's team failed at least 40 times in less than 2 years, that might have had some effect on his psyche.
13:56 ... what is Percepter doing there? lol
Huh. I think Megatron ripped out Starscream's voice box. A typical trope that would be used on Bumblebee
Rumble being dopey who thought and shot the Dinobots but it was actually remote controlled dinos against the Decepticons at 18:25!😂
@13:18 “CLLOSE”
Megatron: spills his energon drink, blasts starscream who was sitting still doing nothing.
Blast it starscream this is your fault!
I like how they pokes fun at Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher and also I know sunstreaker is the most egotistical of the Autobots
this chapter! so hillarious! I can't stop laughing! "Dash Jordan" the hero from space! 😄😄😄

00:18:48 - Run! The Deceptacons are coming!
I’m not trying hard to beat myself but I love when warpath talks
Definitely one of the more ridiculous episodes, but no show is perfect. I gladly embrace the goofy episodes because there are so many great ones too. And the jokes like all the autobots used as crash cars then seeing then in massive chairs with their names printed on them, great stuff.
I had thought I would skip this episode but the thumbnail of Megatron ready to throw Starscream across the room looked funny. And sure enough this whole episode has Megatron acting like the evil boyfriend in a Lifetime movie.
13:53 ohh my god 😄😄😄
