Most guys like that were nice, normal people who eventually got consumed by their illegal career/lifestyle to the point that in a blink of an eye, 10-20 years have gone by and work mode is now over and you’ve realized you became a sucess while alienating friends and family. As a salesman, it is a very relatable feeling.

If you want to blame someone, blame that mother who made the father be estranged for her entire life. She died having never even told her daughter that her father was still alive. Never even let her make the choice for herself as an adult if she wanted to have a relationship with her father or not, she selfishly made the decision for everyone. Just shows how spiteful an ex can be.
This is when you realize Ocean's crew were the better team. One could think that LeMark did all the work for them by telling them about the egg ahead of time, but here you realize that he did it in part because he asked something from them in return that he Toulouse couldn't deliver: to steal his daughter back to him the same way Ocean stole Tess back from Benedict. So, the heist was to get her more than putting on an act to distract Toulouse.

However he asked too much money for the role, so the job went to Patrick Stewart instead, which was so much better.
