    This probably the best video for a pepper mill I've seen from start to finish (pun not intended). ;) Found your videos this morning and already want to do this one (I have the hardware for it) and the circle cutting on a router table without making holes.

    I like the jam chuck and how you turned the top and body together. I'll use that when making my grinders.

      It sure made things easier for me! That was actually a step in the instructions that I got with the hardware from CraftSuppliesUSA.

    Don't wear gloves while touching what you have in the lathe (metal or wood lathe). Make a long strip of sand paper, run it behind and pinch both ends, lightly! Incase it catches. I learned the glove thing the hard way, do not do it! Awesome job though!

      why is wearing gloves a bad idea?

    • @alonsoortiz5373
      @alonsoortiz5373 6 лет назад +9

      Gorki Treperović if it gets caught in the lathe while it’s turning it’s gonna pull your hand into the machine could do a whole lot of damage to your hand. It’s not a good idea to wear gloves around any machinery really

    Even though i'm not really interested in Lathe stuff, but i watch as i am a subscriber, this is one excellent piece of work that you have made. Well Done.

    Looks great, where's the salt? Just joking, I can't tell you how many pepper mills we have worn out! I hope the mechanism you have holds up.

    • @GunflintDesigns
      @GunflintDesigns  7 лет назад +1

      Thanks! I hope it holds up to. It was the most expensive kit I could find, because I wanted quality... but at $13 that's not saying much. At least the hardware is easy to replace if it wears out.

    I sneezed right at this moment: ruclips.net/video/-bIG29fjxDQ/видео.html&t=413 Looks great man! I can tell you're having fun with the new lathe and the awesome lathe stand. Was that a dust collection tube I saw behind the lathe? How well does that work for you?

    • @GunflintDesigns
      @GunflintDesigns  7 лет назад +1

      Thanks! Yep, I found an easy way to make a pretty easy tube attach to my system. It works great for sanding because the lighter particles get pulled away easier. For general chip catching it does okay, better than nothing, but I still end up with a big mess to clean up.

    I noticed you made this video three years ago. I hope you are not still using a hacksaw when the lathe is running. It made me cringe, if the blade jams you could have a nasty accident. Keep safe.
