How to Clean a Waffle Iron | Food 101 | Well Done
/ @welldone
this should be titled "how to clean your waffle iron when it's already clean"
😂
It is worth noting that using a detergent cleaner on a waffle plate is never recommended ruclips.net/user/postUgkxUfphIgghPSpAXNq6OG2WRYsFVqylcqMn though people who don't understand about kitchen hygiene won't understand that a stiff brush is all that is necessary to clean the inside of the unit. Let it cool slightly but still perform the cleaning while it's warm. I used to have a Black and Decker unit that I just loved, and was concerned when we had to replace it that I might not find one that I like just as much. This one does it for me.
Ummm...turn your waffle iron on, spray a couple of paper towels with vinegar and place on the waffle iron and close...removes all build-up. You're Welcome✌🏾
Thank you for this tip :)
Can confirm. This is the way. And you don't seem oddly uppity about your clean waffle iron lol
worked like a charm, thanks!
Won't the paper towel with the vinegar catch fire
Literally went on s tutorial you didn't need to save us all time. Thanks king
She’s not rude. She’s realistic and informative!
She's informative, but she is a little condescending about it.
Cat Osborne Don’t be hurt about. It’s just a video.
I found it funny because some people do need to be reminded about simple safety.
We all came here to learn one thing!
Ever heard about snowflake generation?
She’s an informative Bitch. It is what it is, to each their own. It’s fine.
@@Mintonetteable you'll be gone soon. It's okay
I like to use Q-tips to get into the small areas inside the waffle iron.
Good idea
I’ve done my waffle iron with q tips it was very effective I highly recommend it
She sounds like literally every restaurant kitchen worker who has tried to train someone. Lol
When you buy one of this, but realize you can’t wash like you normally would and you threw the instructions book and you’re dumb... yep that’s why I’m here 😅😅
The best part is suggesting that you don't let it get dirty to begin with. Take the time to thoroughly clean it after every use. It will take just a few minutes. Same thing with ovens, grills, smokers, etc..
Thanks for the information. Some of the comments are excellent as well.
Thank you so much for the tips!🤗
You got it! Thanks for watching
Rude? I didn't feel that while watching, at all. I prefer a video like this that gets to the point and is efficient.
Then again, I don't use my RUclips searches for entertainment.
I'm usually looking for a helpful "how to".
I'm so tired of watching over exaggerated fake cheerfulness, fussing with their hair, inserting unimportant sidebars.
I would imagine the only people who would read it as rudeness, are people who rarely, if ever, clean their waffle iron after using? I don't know
Thanks for the kind words Sunshine J! We appreciate it
Rude? Maybe not. Oddly condescending about a waffle maker? Yes
Thank you so much! I made waffles for the first time today and this helped tremendously❤
What do you do with small bits of burned on grease
she’s not rude bruh she’s a whole ass mood the people saying that r ❄️❄️ w no humor istg
Thank you! ❤❤
A friend gave me 2 old irons try to see best ideas for bringing it back to every day use might be using it in a diy food truck
Her tips + the comments tips makes for the cleanest waffle irons
شكرا لك ♥️
Another video here on RUclips I saw, that were a lady just uses steam to clean the waffle iron with a dish cloth. I am very nervous about using dishwashing soap! If I was to use dishwashing detergent on the waffle grids itself, it would find it hard for me to get it off. That’s why I would recommend using steam with hot water! Also I am blind and steam gets everything off! If I knew your email address, I could find this video and send it to you.
So easy to clean something that's already cleaned
I just bought a waffle maker, how do I clean before first use? Is it ok if I just a towel and water?
And this my friends is why I would never on purpose use my waffle iron. I do, however, every two weeks as I make Chaffels for my husband, one weeks worth at a time. My least favorite task, because of the clean-up. I do run that sucker under the faucet, unplugged of course, brush it down with a bottle brush, and then let it air dry.
Really great tutorial thank you!
I watched twice and different find her rude at all. I must be missing something it kinda seemed to the point and simple.
She is being sarcastic
More like condescending. If y'all cleaned your waffle iron Regularly like I do, you wouldn't have this problem.
I agree with you. As for the persons that replied to your comment calling her sarcastic and condescending obviously just like to complain for the sake of it!
It was a great video, and she covered the important safety aspect of making sure it’s unplugged, which no doubt they’d complain about if it wasn’t mentioned.
Another tip... DO NOT use any sprays with soy lecithin. It will cause a gummy residue that builds up over time even if you clean it and it's almost impossible to get off.
How to clean the inside area between the two waffle pans, the joint where the upper one gets closed over the lower one?
Sometimes oil seeps through it and its difficult to reach there to clean it...
Fine for everyday casual clean, not good for Belgian/deep waffle makers that are heavily used for a family, leaving you with a sticky residual grease instead of just oily grease... think spray or butter instead of straight up oil. Find another video if you want to see actual cleaning vs some casual upkeep tips lol. Hers is already clean, this is more of a quick clean before you put it away in a box or cabinet! Still kind of informative though!
Thats why we need DISSLIKE button, this sucks I dont want my Waffles taste like soup lol
Yep. This is why I came online, to look for a hack to clean a Belgian waffle maker. My daughter is making them every day and it requires some cooking spray or butter. I'm destroying my sponges scrubbing between those teeth (is there a proper word for the grid nubs?).
How do I get the soap out?
If you use a small amount of soap, then you can typically just wipe it out with a cloth that's damp with plain water.
Just bought mine but didn’t check if I can take the pan (or whatever it’s called) out. Returning it tomorrow.
Was she rude just because she said “it’s not rocket science”? Because I must of missed the part where she was “rude”
Does the towel have to be clean
So i guess im the only one who lets who lets his dog lick his waffle iron clean ? Yeah right i'm not believing that 😆
😂😂😂
Thank you so much! now I know how to clean it:)
thank you for the video, I was trying to decide whether or not to get a waffle maker, you made that decision clear to me now, thanks for the video!!!
You toss it out?
I think she is being forward for the “safe space people”. Thanks for the tutorial.
Leave the woman alone XD
rude? how? jeeze!
I got an unction to share this note Lets Turn to God Theseasonorg explains the whole Bible God bless.
How does he clean his waffle iron?
Stop reading me and my waffle iron to filth 😂😭 if I kept it clean I wouldn’t be watching this video now would I
I think it is completely ridiculous that they would design something that needs to be washed and doesn't come apart...
Literally the first comment is better than the whole video!😂
this is why pancakes are superior. easy to cook and easy to clean. i have a waffle maker. cleaning time is 10 times longer so i stopped using it.
No, you’re just lazy.
If you have to tell people how to clean the OUTSIDE of the waffle maker they probably live in disgustingly dirty house
What about newbies just starting out cooking? Or students who want to cook in a waffle maker in campus? Not everyone ‘knows’ if they’ve never cooked before!!!
I feel judged by this video
First thing you need is a waffle maker that's actually dirty. >.
Using a sponge is the worst thing to use as it harbors so much bacteria, use a microfiber cloth. I clean mine just like a skillet.
If you use a new one, no problem. No chance of bacteria then. Common sense
For an in-depth breakdown on this review see here: ruclips.net/user/shorts7vKYVJAXDho?feature=share
You sound like Demi Moore.
I absolutely loathe how every video, article, anything these days has to tell the morons of the world to do things like "UNPLUG" due to our absurdly litigious society.
She's talking in such a way that a 20 something year can understand how to do it because the only waffles they know how to make are Eggos in a toaster
SHE'S SO RUDE
Why?
I think shes better than those phony people who constantly smile.
Speaking from an European point of view, it is quite refreshing not to see super perky, blonde American women with a high pitched, screechy voice and a constant grin. She is just matter of fact, she is talking about cleaning not about dressing a barbie doll.
It's now How she's saying it, it What she is saying that is rude. Her tone and look is fine. Just leave the extra insoles out and give simple instructions that's all
Shari Scott nope, not hearing it. And again, it's about cleaning a waffle iron. She isn't talking about anything personal or super sensitive.
Useless, if my husband kept our waffle iron clean I wouldn't be looking this up.
wow .. rudest I have seen. How about soapy cake?
Get a safe space
Judgy much? I never thought I'd see someone so uppity about their waffle iron cleanliness
