I have to show This to the kids that started to show up my trail spot during lockdown, they have seen Matt Jones vids and now want to digg, they already clean a table line and practicing shaping, now the kids are there everyday and im getting a soor back! These vids are of actual digging with a very High standard, aswell AS production! Thanks!
Wow cheers dude- stoked with your comment- there are loads of insane trail spots all over the world and so many incredible builders- but we do try our best. I'm lucky to be part of a crew that has worked together for years and we love our little spot.
I really miss being in the woods with my boys doing this. We use to get these rolls of burlap and cut pieces and bury them in the jumps in layers. It would hold them really good for a while but still had to shape them. Your jumps are a work of art tho. On a whole different level. I appreciate the work you guys put in and the creativity of the lines. It really is something amazing to see. Its nice to know the culture is alive and well like never before. Rip it up gents✌
That must be some sort of magic long handle digging device you use to get those jumps so buttery smooth You deserve and nice cup of tea after all that graft Keep up the good work gav, cant wait to come to church and see what you have been up to Stay safe
Cheers dude! Yeah I just hold on to the shovel and it does all the work (that would be awesome!!). Thanks for making the ultimate trail maker. Come see us soon man!
JUST KEEP DIGGING me and my mates are trying to build trails just like this. Do you have any tips on how to build or good dirt locations just like this? Cuz this dirt is absolutely amazing! Work of art
can you make a tutorial or how to build jump? i love your works but i cant figure out how made it, how do you decide height, length, inclination etc. btw top quality video, as always!
If u make 6" wide trenchs on the sdes of ur approach a couple of deep at the bottom of ur approach and fill them with gravel you won't have Lake Stepup after every rain storm.
It does have more sand than we would like. How long they hold their shape depends on the weather and if they're covered or not. We find carpet does a good job of holding moisture in the ground. Once a jump has gone solid it lasts months, maybe a year before needing to be worked on. Some of the older jumps at ours haven't been touched for a few years now and still run fine.
I need to get on to the manufacturer in Germany and buy a batch direct!! I get so many people ask about them and I even need a new one myself! Yeah it also came from Lidl and yep, you have to play the Lidl lottery and hope you find one!! It could be you!! Good luck :)
I've only ever seen them in Lidl in the UK- I don't know what the name for that type of shovel is I'm afraid. If you find out let me know as I would like to buy another one! :-)
www.fiskars.eu/products/gardening/shovels-spades/ergonomic-shovel-1001579 This is the one is use and you can get them at Screwfix or B&Q, just be careful the are two types and the one you want is perfectly flat.
3hrs for first jump. About 7 hours total to build the kicker (with the dirt being delivered!) and 2-3 hours to fix the landing. I tend to count blisters rather than hours now!! Haha.
I showed this to my trail bike and it turned into a dirt jumper
Lol

Prime jumps
Where are you getting all of your dirt?
If u make 6" wide trenchs on the sdes of ur approach a couple of deep at the bottom of ur approach and fill them with gravel you won't have Lake Stepup after every rain storm.
The dirt drains really well- never seen a puddle form in there even after a rain storm. So nice not having to worry about drainage!
Dude how does this guy only have ten k subs
Got some odd flat head shovels oved there. No rocks or anything for fill all dirt. If I can build all dirt always but a lot of fill is used
Man where did you guys get that shovel I’ve never seen one so flat
ikr im also looking for a new shovel
How do u make the time lapses so smooth
I’ll pay top dollar for two of those flattys shipped to New Jersey - USA!? How much for your shovel, bro?
Sick
what are those flat heads called, i have a flat head but it has the bumps what are urs called that are completly flat
is it easier it build with sand and if it is is it harder to maintain

I'm nr8 born and bred. Give me me an apprenticeship? Haha My trails 'ringland hills' were taken from me years ago!
ben Cox what does nr8 stand 4
Haha then I think I must know you... Ringland was my first dig spot which is where the NR8 comes from!!
@@justkeepdigging1956 I think we must have crossed paths o spent alot of years there!
It looks like the dirt contains a lot of sand - How long time do the jumps keep their shape?
