Without doubt it’s easier to work with but it takes a lot of maintenance to keep everything running. Solid clay trails can hold up without being touched for ages if built right, plus it runs super fast in the summer.
@@justkeepdigging1956 hey you might not see this since this is a month out, but curious why you guys dont use slurry/soiltac? feel like it would be a huge help with dirt that sandy!
@@jayfil2323 like glue for the jumps? I’m assuming that’s what your talking about…. I have 2 answers it’s because once it’s bonded to the soil, and you need to move or reshape a lip or landing that dirt will no longer bond with the other dirt so then you have to take out the old dirt and bring in new dirt and the other one is simply just the cost of it all!
You "getting the youtube bug" is one of the best silver linings of the pandemic. Keep up the amazing work, and I look forward to more amazing content throughout and after COVID-19 has wrapped up. Cheers from a fellow lover of bikes and dirt.
Wow thanks dude- really appreciate that. Still working on the format a little- a few little tweaks and I'll be happy. Thanks for the kind words buddy- take it easy :-)
Sick! Could you do a video on how to build a lip from scratch and or how to smoothen the face and sides of your lip because your team does this so good!
Dunno how to take the 2x speed comment haha- I normally get told to slow my timelapses down so people can see whats happening. I will try and work harder for you! ;-) haha.
Yep, I nipped up for sure. Will had transferred across to the right on that jump every run so I thought I was safe... until he went straight!! Relieved it didn't end badly.
NR8 Trail vids, What type of shovels do you use, im a bike rider and a dirt jump maker myself just whats the right shovel for flattening and compacting
We all use different shovels - I have a couple for different jobs. I personally like a long handled shovel with quite a large blade for digging and a shorter handled one with a smaller flatter head. The packing shovel needs to be sturdy and flat- it will wear in with time and get better and better as the blade is polished smooth through use. Hope that helps!
We all use different ones... some from fiskar, some from bulldog- but most of them are just random ones bought from garden centres and DIY stores. The most important thing is a nice flat head to pack the dirt nice and level.
Both- it’s about 80% sand. We try and use the pure sand for the base of features and cover thoroughly with better dirt. It’s sandier than we would choose but we just make the best of what we have :-)
@@justkeepdigging1956 ok thank you, The sad think is I am form Czech republic And i couldn't find the same dirt and sand as you. I Wish i could build that good as you.
Is it a rule you have to turn your bike sideways mid jump? Im new to jumping so in trying to learn, and i dont understand why everyone turns their bike mid air. I dont even know how to do that, i just wanna see someone hit a jump normally so i can watch their form.

That dirt looks sooooo much easier to build with than clay

yh clay cracks alot u just need to build in the winter and ride in the summer with clay

Cheers mate! We've done a load more over the last few weeks so I'm looking forward to bringing out the next episode on Friday :-)
some of the most beautiful dirt I have ever seen
Sawyer Linehan yeah, because it’s not dirt it’s sand.
Do they not have rocks there? Some pay money for soil so clean.
Probably the best hidden gem i have ever found on this site :)
Watching you build jumps is like watching Picasso paint. Amazing work!
I love the format you've come up with for these.
Also this dirt is so beautiful. I've never seen anything shaped so perfectly.
Wow thanks dude- really appreciate that. Still working on the format a little- a few little tweaks and I'll be happy. Thanks for the kind words buddy- take it easy :-)
That jack russell has the sickest scrubs over that roller.

Such an amazing trail you guys are building over here. Love the timelapse of how you’re doing it. Helps with learning how to build more of my own!
Our pleasure! Plenty more to come - we're working on 3 different lines at the moment!

This was awesome, looking forward to next video!
Every time I watch one of your videos (at 2x speed) I'm just mesmerized by the texture of the dirt...
Dunno how to take the 2x speed comment haha- I normally get told to slow my timelapses down so people can see whats happening. I will try and work harder for you! ;-) haha.
It would take me 8 days to build a roller that big
That scrub at 7:30 damn lol
These vids are so sick
Woooo ahora siii a mejorar la técnica de paleo
sick dude. trails are looking sweet..
Sooooo sick!
This is conteeeennttt
Love it I wish I could do all that but I am not lucky enough to have all that dirt. But I try on my channel.
Good on ya for building- it’s as rewarding as riding in my opinion. Keep shreddin dude.
super travail ca me manque de shaper un terrain de dirt ;)
There are close calls and then there is this 3:34 - 3:44 , good save lol!

Wow
Awesome vid, what camera do you use?
Thanks buddy I use a Panasonic GH5 and an old GH4 for most of my Timelapse shots.
What shovel do you guys use? Any links?

Lead every story with location of occurrence(s)
What do you use to cover the landing is it just carpet?
Yep, when its new its a nightmare but once it fills with dirt and gets wet a few times it’s a lot better to ride.
👏🏻👊
Quarantine isn’t over yet
What’s the background music at 3:00
song at 5:20 ? # no dig no ride
Oliver Michael - make my move right now :-)
How much does dirt cost for something like this and where do you get it?
Could someone please tell me what dirt they are using🙏
where is this lads?
what are the songs used in this video? Or are they custom made?
Artlist medley- I’m guessing the ones you’re after are make my move by Oliver Michael and Make Hafla Not War by Tarante Groove Machine :-)
@@justkeepdigging1956 Thank you very much! :)
Where,s hubs you got
Where is that?
Make friends with a beetle😂
I named him Wilson haha :-)
holy shit
What dirt is this?
80:20 sand/dirt mix. Nice to shape but a bit delicate
@@justkeepdigging1956 okay thanks

Yes but not sure if the guys who built them are trying to keep it secret
Be a pain when it rains
We spend half of our lives praying for rain!!
I still don’t understand how people don’t ride with helmets. You actually have to be stupid it not
Not as stupid as spending your life worrying about stuff that doesn’t even affect you. You worry about you- let them worry about themselves.
