22 years old...and already decidedly cool...Siouxsie Sioux. The rest of the band is just as cool. It's sobering, to realize that, by this point, the unit was 3 months away from imploding...only for S&TB Mark II to begin, creating even more powerful, exotic sonic landscapes and excursions.
22 years old and already in love with herself. The Scream was amazing. Join Hands heading towards self-indulgent. And then it was a matter of whether you liked their pop or not. What's with the neck scarf? Really - is that what she got from following the Pistols? She's Linda Ronstadt with a worse voice. John McKay's guitar is the best thing about this video.
LP1, side1, track2 and already they'd created one of the best Banshees, and therefore one of the best songs in history, even still the case in 2022....and will ever be, full stop, exclamation mark!
A great song from one of my all time favourite albums. It's a shame this line up of the Banshees split a few months later, it would have been interesting to hear what direction they may have taken the band. But we wouldn't have had the John McGeoch era and that would have been a crying shame as they produced some of my favourite albums as well.
No John McGeogh era would have meant we never heard of the band at all. Im sure Souixie would have made it. Shes too talented to not, but the band would have never been heard of. Not a single one of the guys on this lineup pre-McGeogh was irreplaceable.

My 1st ever gig age 13 in 1978 was the Banshees month or two before debut album came out & saw them in 79 with the Cure as support

They were well known long before mcgeoch
@@StevieZero Duh! And show some respect to the late, great Mr. McGeoch.
Best evocation of what it feels like to be an adolescent ever. Inspiring, powerful, seminal.
Wow fantastic footage! This is my favourite song too. So raw and powerful.
This is the classic lineup
I think John McKay: genius
Brilliant New Wave music performed by one of the greatest bands of any era
I was born in 1979 .This song has the essence of my birth year drenched with wisdom and pure emotion.
Awesome 👍
Didn't expect to find such a quality tbh
one of the best live for a tv show; powerfull !!
The riff man!😢
So so, so good. Banshees forever!
HELLO HERE BRASIL COOL 🇧🇷😎👌🎼
dark and punk...only siouxsie
Awesome footage!
They didn't understand how much they had back then. Never reached this level of experimentation again.
Yes.
Love this
Never saw this one. Great
Te amo Siouxsie...
Wahey the Punks dancing 😀
The quality is Bad Ass for 79, even the raw sound of the instruments.
Lol i love how audience is trying to"punk out" lol but this such a great song!
even with 20 SIouxsie already looked like a hot auntie
That looks like the guitar McGeoch plays on the TOTP performance of Happy House
I doubt it, Siouxsie apparently smashed it when McKay and Morris walked out of the band
Goofy audience ruins it.
No they make it surreal !
heyyy leave them alone, they’re vibing
Yes not pretty
