I love the chic sophisticated look. The gold and copper pop the wicker baskets and balalances so beautifully. I also love how you popped with green for the farmhouse element. So inspiring and what a gorgeous job you did as always. Thank you for the tips. My favorite was the gold vases and coral! Stunning!
You are my best interior designer so far, you really explain why you do something and all the technics. I have just joined but I have learned alot. Thanks alot.
Fabulous! Another great tip is to remove the book covers, sometimes the actual book itself is gorgeous and much nicer than the cover:) Thanks for sharing!
Fits well into my space, I painted the back green. It's very easy to customize just the back if that's something you want to do. I would suggest sanding it first before painting, I got a little impatient. The shelves ruclips.net/user/postUgkxM8H4CjCb79vzeyvgaFMdzmLm88oVFPMkare pretty small so keep that in mind if you're going to have it horizontal that some books won't fit. I like the snug look that it has. Good small shelf if you don't have much space, but not too small. Simple to put together, though you'll need your own tools, a screwdriver and a mallet/hammer, it's easiest to do with another person.
We travel a lot because my husband is an expat so we accumulated a lot of souvenirs from all over the world I can’t wait to display them once our house is done thank you for your tips on how to display them. 😍
Looks like a store. I think with that many shelves, upright books would look great. And they can be interspersed with objects and boos lying flat. Group things in twos??
If one has this amount of books, one can place them horizontally. I have been running through a large amount of French interiors’ photographs recently. And it is impossible to miss the difference between the French and the American culture: French dwellings have a lot of books and their bookshelves serve the original purpose I.e. to store books.
How can you call that a bookcase when there are more accessories than books? For me a real bookcase should showcase your book collection accentuated by your favorite accessories not the other way around.
Great, but not any good for a real home with people who need to display normal things amongst items that are being used. I have hundreds of books and ornaments.
As a reader searching for organizing ideas this pained me right from the start... it is obvious that you cared more for the aesthetic than anything and I get that... but books get damage when you put them on their sides.
Very nice video and useful pro tips, thank you. Yet, when I watch this kind of videos about decor and interior design, I often feel both amused and disheartened... I wonder: don't these people own, like, anything?! Haven't they any passion, interest, or personal stuff displaying their individuality and character? Just (beautiful but) empty (and thus kinda useless) vases and bowls, a handful of books (bought, I'd swear, mostly and/or specifically just for decor purpose, the most generic "stylish large-format hard-cover art book" that probably no one in that house has ever even opened) and some preposterous little sculpture or useless "decor object"...? It all ends up looking so generic, like the soulless desperate show-off of very insecure and colorless people that need to make some sort of statement to impress others more than just to actually live and enjoy their homes. And failing, imho. These people buy generic cool-looking glamorous useless stuff to fill their shelves, instead of buying shelves in order to put their belongings on them. Why have all that beautiful large bookshelf in the first place, then? Put some painting on the wall, and put a couple of shelves for your few belongings.
Per this video...putting nothing on a shelf is an expert styling tip. You know just when I think I've heard it all, I'm reminded once again that absurdity is limitless! Now here's why the empty Shelf tip does not work.... When decorating shelves balance and symmetry are the most important characteristics. It is absolutely impossible to achieve that when you have one undecorated shelf with with all the others being decorated. Everyone knows that so I certainly hope you didn't go to school for this

This was two years ago. I am wondering, how would you do it differently today with the lessons you have learned over the past two years?

Book shelves aren't just for books. It's a personal choice. I love her ideas so elegant and simple.
TJ Heather thank you for the love!! 😘❤️
We travel a lot because my husband is an expat so we accumulated a lot of souvenirs from all over the world I can’t wait to display them once our house is done thank you for your tips on how to display them. 😍
Those kinds of treasures are the most fun to display. Good luck!
I appreciate that you explain your reasoning behind your arrangement, thanks!
Pure Class 💖 all my lovely bits ( favourite pieces ) are in storage I can’t wait to display them all again.
Love the cabinet shelves.
Thank you Myra!
I have a Built-in Bookshelf was wondering if placing wallpaper on the wall a good idea. I'm planning on painting the shelves as well
My favorite was the two gold vases. Added glam to the look😉
They really pop against the white!
Nina I really get inspired each time I Watch your videos ... Thank you.
Thank you for your kind words!
I just came across your vlogs and I had to subscribe. Thanks for the beautiful tours and decoration tips and ideas. I look forward to your uploads.

My favorites are the white coral and the two gold bowls!
Thank you for sharing, Cheyenne!
Adding green is always nice... 😊
It really is!
I’m definitely inspired, styling my bookcase is one of my upcoming projects!
Mine isn’t as big but it’s also white👌🏽.
Thank you!
That is fantastic news!!
You are one of the best in the world of decorating.
You are one of the kindest!
"Give me your Love by Spring gang..."
That's the background track..I love that song!
Looks great! Love the black tall odd shaped vases!
Thank you!
This is so insightful and helpful - full of great design tips!!
Glad you think so! Love you!
I would like to see how you style a bookshelf if you had a list of ongoing books that you are reading and need to display
Will do!
Always buy 2 copies
8 months later and it’s nowhere to be found. Don’t call it a bookshelf then, if there’s barely any books on it?
I love the wonderful ideas. Everything is gorgeous. How tall is the bookshelf floor to ceiling?
It’s a very tall ceiling. It’s 11 feet! Thank you so much for watching
Nina Takesh Thanks so much.
How do I display blue/white ceramics, Ming vases/jars etc.transfer plates?
Love love love it so elegant
Very informative. I will change my habit of just piling up things on shelves and try to be a bit more artistic. Thanks.
Loved the decor
Thank you!
Well done!
Nice job. I love it
Have you used a set color palette?
Yes I stuck to earth tones with a pop of black and white! xx
I'm a minimalist and I don't need shelfs. I really like it
This is GREAT news if a minimalist approves of my shelf design!! Thank you

Beautiful ❤️❤️
Thank you! Cheers!

Hi how often u switch or move around things
It really depends on my mood but at least 2 times per year.
Thanks replying back
would be useful to know how much $$$ did you spend on that decorative items. That big coral alone would be like 100$.
How to incorporate photographs
How do you decorate a living room with fire place on one wall & a tall/2 story wall on the other side of the room?
That is tricky!! I tackled just that on my next video that will be released on Sunday!! Make sure and check it out! xoxo
I did not see links for products in comments section, and how can I reach to you amazon store
It is also in description, but here it is. xx www.amazon.com/shop/ninatakesh
Thanks Nina
Where are the books?

This looks like a TK Max Isle.
For a homely feel,
Functional should be 80%
Ornamental should be
You're so fabulous!
how nice of you! Thank you!

I definitely agree with you that we need more books and we are adding them as the owners collection of art and architecture books grow!
What's your favorite decorative item from you saw in the shelves above?
The black items and baskets on the top.
Great, but not any good for a real home with people who need to display normal things amongst items that are being used. I have hundreds of books and ornaments.
I wish there was a pop of color like turquoise or orange , the wall was white and the items were too pale in my opinion :(
Hello! Thank you for your feedback! Thank you for watching!
Wait what? What if you have a ton of books? I could totally fill up at least 2/3rds of those shelves with actual books.
♥️♥️♥️♥️
Thank you for watching!
where are the books🤷🏾♀️😆

I guess? Feel like you need more books. Space feels kind of empty.

I would reduce the item amounts by half on the shelves
I agree - too much for me

As soon as you put stuff on a stack of books, I'm outta here. This is the dumbest thing decorators do.
