I've written this so many times today, but supposedly the meeting didn't happen because Harry made demands of his father regarding who was to be allowed in the room where they met. The King obviously didn't agree. Edit: Also, Harry didn't set up Invictus; his father did, and William joined in as well in the beginning. They ended up "giving it" to Harry to give him something to do.

King Charles was right to stand his ground and say NO to Harry. For some time, it was his 'game' of I'm coming - no I'm not, and everyone was supposed to keep rearranging things to his whim. He knows the rules, or should, and is being made to follow them, like it or not. Even though King Charles loves his son, he doesn't need the stress of having him around. He's ill and continuing to take cancer treatments. Those can be beyond exhausting at best. Plus, the trust is totally gone! That's why they're not allowed to be alone together. Who knows what H will say or do and then twist it around to use later to once again make money off of his family.
Perhaps Harry can meet up with his father on his fathers terms not his terms .

Why are people suprised... Charles is a King dealing with cancer, engagements, sick family etc. It must be extremely hard not to see his son, but what choice has he got when the royal family have been treated the way they have. Harry and Meghan have been invited almost every year to spend time with the family at Balmoral Castle. He has turned it down every year. He even turned it down when Queen Elizabeth invited them before she died. They were coming to England and could have made time to see her, but they didn’t. He can’t expect to jet in for a couple of days on business and expect the king to drop everything to see him. No, you're completely correct. The US Warrior games were the inspiration for Invictus and it was set up by the Ministry if Defence with the royal household, even Prince Philip was involved. It's only recently that everyone seems to have forgotten that and all we hear is that it was all done by Hazbeen alone.
