Small hint to anyone wanting to buy the 802: I advice going for the windowed version. The closed side-panel version does not get the 5 HDD slot covers included, so it will make the inside look less clean cable management-wise. And the amount of noise the glass blocks is not that much less than the closed side panel. They do sell the HDD slot covers seperately, but right now only the black version. Keep that in mind. I can confirm that the legs are indeed hidden quite sneakily in the bottom of the foam packaging. Build quality is great.
if you have solid side panels what does it matter what it looks like inside. I bought the 802 with solid panels so it did not come with those HDD covers but who cares I'm not into RGB or wouldn't have bought closed panels.

The version of this case with the glass side panel case is beautiful with the drive plastic panels. One thing to note is the non-glass version of the case does NOT come with those plastic panels.
People who care about cable management seem to be decent people :> James cares to that point, that's just beautiful piece of art of cable management :D But I'm the same - it's like kinda challenge I like. About 802, from conception's point of view seems the best idea of a case. A quiet case, which gives you opportunity to balance silence and airflow for your hardware and expectations. Everybody like computer quiet, every setup has different needs of airflow. I'm still Team Define 7, but 802 seems to me that secound best.
Thats the Mutz Nutz, James! If I hadn't just built a Phanteks P600S, I would give extreme serious consideration to the 802 if it were available in NZ. I even like the pump on the AIO, I was afraid it would look out of place but it actually helps fills the big empty space toward the front. Interested to see the custom loop.

I moved from the Corsair Obsidian Series 500D RGB SE Premium Mid-Tower Case, I had it for over two years and was tired of the dust that came in through the gaps of the door glass panels. Planning to upgrade the internals later on. Running a 3950x with a Thaichi motherboard, Corsair dominator platinum rgb 32g, GPU 380ti upgraded from the 2080. Push and pull config 360 AIO mounted upfront Noctua fans used. Top case fans: 3x140mm light wings switched from Corsair LL140mm rgb which were too loud, Rear exhaust : 1x 140mm Thermaltake White tough fan switched from Corsair LL140mm rgb fan, Bottom case fan 1x140mm light wings switched from Corsair LL140 rgb fan. Power Supply Corsair 850w Modular color white.
1. If a 120mm fan is installed at the bottom, is it impossible to install a sata hdd? 2. Did you purchase the cable tie separately? Or is it enclosed? 3. Are cable ties required?
Hi, is it required to modify (cut) the plate of this case when you want to have backplate of Arctic LF II AiO installed at the back of Z690 MoBo with LGA1700 socket? I heard that for example Corsair 4000D Airflow has such problem.
I would personally put a third fan at the front and place the SSD drive at that front bottom drive cage so it can be supplied with cool air. Placing 2.5" SSD's behind the motherboard is very close to putting NVMe SSDs on the motherboard (temperature tends to soar).
I am waiting for my 802 to arrive. Nice suggestion! Since I got 3 HDDs that will populate the whole cage plus the additional one that comes with the case, I will attach my 2 SATA SSDs to the side of the HDD Cage, will add a 3d fan in front (my AIO will go on top) and benefit from the intakes. If only I'd find a way to use my old, trusty NZXT Sentry 3 Fan controller. I am so used to it, I find it difficult to ditch it :( Any suggestions would be super great!

The case feels empty if you don't custom watercool , but that's not a problem for me, even with my AIO in there (up to the top), I 'm enjoying it! Good airflow (slightly better than my previous one). I got somewhat negative pressure, dust is not my friend, but I clean every 2 or 3 months and it's fine :) Some things to mention. Do not use extension cables if you want your peace of mind, cos they'll make your cable management more difficult (the thick sound dampening material is the reason). The space behind the mb is limited for a case of this size. So, cable management can be a challenge. Also, the cable to connect the fan controller to CPU fan header is too short, leading me to buy a small extension to reach the header. Those are two main drawbacks. I recently made use of my old case (Phanteks Enthoo pro) to build a small server, so every HDD I have is in there. Freeing some space (removed the cages of silent base 802) , was not so easy with so many cable clatter, but I did it anyway and helped to "stack" the clatter there, instead of my HDDs :p Overall this is a great case, but I can't help comparing it to my 7-year old Phanteks, which was absolutely ahead of its time :) PS: My components are i7-8700K GTX 1080 Ti 32GB of RAM 2 SSDs Sata and 1 Nvme Corsair H150i Pro AIO (360mm) 3X120 Corsair Fans in front and one at the back (stock ones are great fans though, but if you like RGB shit , you'll need to spend extra :p ) Componentwise you can add whatever you like, it fits in there :D The PSU cover is in 4 pieces , so it's versatile and you can put a 360 AIO at the front and on top simultaneously I believe!

@@angrysocialjusticewarrior Hello! If you use the sound dampening panels (the front panel and the closed ones on top) then it impacts the noise, a good amount. If your primary concern is noise, then it's super fine. But I do not use them cos it impacts the temps as well. Especially in summer. And as I've updated my PC since my last comment (I now own a 13700K/RTX 4080 , new AIO,PSU and Mobo), and this CPU needs more cooling, resulting to more noise when in load. When I used the 802 with my previous setup though, it was about the same , despite having one more fan in the front now(2X140 on phanteks , while 3X140 on 802). So , I guess it's a little better noise-wise , but not that much to justify the money I gave. One more thing (I think I've said it again), this right panel sound dampening material, doesn't make any noticeable difference and it makes my life harder regarding the cable management. I even had a faulty cable resulting BSODs (power management related ones), due to huge pressure to close this side panel. Other than that, airflow-wise, the case is better than phanteks , cos it doesn't have obstructed airflow due to its lack of 5.25 bays in front (and the only HDD Cage - which I removed cos I use my old system in my phanteks , as an hdd server) and it's spacious enough to move the air correctly.
@@warlockdude12 the i9-10850K runs cool compared with 9th and 8th gen so its worth trading off some cpu temperature to improve gpu temperature. The AIO won't be in the system for long as it will be going full custom loop very soon.
another minor negative point is if you instal 3x RGB Fans with the mesh at front they don't match the hex pattern. Still getting the case for an inverted rgb build though as soon as pc parts are available again...
@@JeighNeither the centers of the hexagons in the front have some odd distance of idk 135 or somthing. so when you have 140mm fans and one is centered, the others are offcenter. Or one could take 120mm fans and have some space between the fans which im not a fan of either. I have 140mm fans now with the middle fan cantered and the top is offcenter to the top, and the bottom one lower.
My computer is under my table and it's very dark under there, so... 1) A white case would make following black cables a lot easier. 2) Does any case maker integrate LED lighting into the place where the motherboard connectors exit the case. For me this would be a major benefit that so far I haven't seen anybody address. Yes. I can wear a headlight. Yes. I could build my own LED lighting but the benefit of buying a case should be that it makes the need to make a Heath Robinson set up unnecessary.

They will sound so much better if you pot them, which is basically how you repair them. MIM's or MIA's? whats up with that blue color on the usb 3 right-angle adapters? mine is blue too - couldn't find one that was just black. ended up covering it with black electrical tape... that blue sticks out way too much, imo.

Can i fit Arctic LF2 420 AIO on the top ? On paper it support 420 rad but who knows. Plus it seems i could fit 3x140mm in font even if its officially not supported.
How big is the difference in noise level between the two configurations? Is it still fairly quiet with the high airflow mesh, or is all the sound dampening negated when you switch to that configuration? I'm looking for my next case to be silent but stylish. I like the look of the mesh better, but also need it to be very quiet for my stream setup.
iv tried all configs of this case. I added 2 extra 140mm fans, so 3 in front 1 at back 1 in the top for a Noctua d15 air-cooled setup. at max fan speed, it's noticeably louder so I stay at 70%(2nd fan setting) fan noise with the sound dampened front panel nor the solid top panel doesn't make any difference to the audible level it seems to be the rear fan I hear the most. the included fan controller isn't great. it DOES NOT work on any PWM header except the CPU fan header, after some research it turns out it's down to motherboard manufacturer to provide the right power level to the PWM and only the CPU one is given the right power on my gigabyte Aorus pro ac. (other mobos might differ but it's not in any tech specs and is trial and error!) however, the solid panel does choke off airflow and that definitely affects temps. I run with mesh front solid top and the silent wing has a noticeable hum to them unless I turn them down to level 1 about 40% or 400 rpm then it is silent. but again does get hotter. But at no point on any setting has my r5 5600x and 2080 super thermal throttled. and the GPU fans when gaming for a while are much louder than the case fans. I intend to water cool the GPU and CPU but the case is a weird layout so dual rads will need to be 120 in the top and 140 in the front ( or both 120s for acoustic balance and 120 fans again will increase the sound levels. the case is excellent but needs tweaking to hit silence
@@acidxburn125 It does make a difference, you're just not hearing it, so it doesn't make a difference for you personally. Go check out Gamer Nexus' build and review with this case. They put it thru it's paces, & measure everything in their PC lab. Everyone doesn't hear decibels the same way, so it's best to make judgments from hard data. I'm an audio engineer that also games on the same machine, so this case seems built for my situation. How did everything turn out in the end? Were you able to get everything water-cooled to your liking? I moved components over from an older machine, but I'm about to do the same, w/a new gpu, but only because I want to, not that I need to. Audio production doesn't use much of the gpu (although depending on the DAW, you'd be surprised), so the only db's I'm worried about are w/the cpu & case temp in general.
those who buy asus motherboards, vivio immediately dislik and video ban do not buy asus motherboards they are of very low quality,and the body of the real is very good

But some care about emi shielding which is provided with solid panels (assuming there is ground connection or else scrape a bit of paint)

Yeah the 4000D is a bit more compact compared to this Silent Base 802.

No point in having the dustfilter on top when you have an AIO for exhaust there :)

You could buy some led srtips to light up the right hand side of the case so you can see the cables better.

This case looks really nice, but how stable is it on those Helicopter Skids? Does it get wobbly at all?
It feels pretty stable once you get the legs clipped in correct. I've not noticed any major wobble or stability issues yet.

When I set the fan control to automatic it's the same as fan control 3... do you know what the issue is?
In bios you need to set a fan curve for whatever header you plugged the fan controller into otherwise it defaults to max speed

hello kitguru, i just build the pc with this case and with a asus prime x570-p mobo but my 3 case fans is not working... I've already plug the pwm cable to 4-pin cha_fan1 header though... Did I plugged it wrong?

whats up with that blue color on the usb 3 right-angle adapters? mine is blue too - couldn't find one that was just black. ended up covering it with black electrical tape... that blue sticks out way too much, imo.

Can i fit Arctic LF2 420 AIO on the top ? On paper it support 420 rad but who knows. Plus it seems i could fit 3x140mm in font even if its officially not supported.
On the top max 360mm in the front you can install 420mm.
At this point I think that all the PSUs should become fully modular
How big is the difference in noise level between the two configurations? Is it still fairly quiet with the high airflow mesh, or is all the sound dampening negated when you switch to that configuration? I'm looking for my next case to be silent but stylish. I like the look of the mesh better, but also need it to be very quiet for my stream setup.
iv tried all configs of this case. I added 2 extra 140mm fans, so 3 in front 1 at back 1 in the top for a Noctua d15 air-cooled setup. at max fan speed, it's noticeably louder so I stay at 70%(2nd fan setting) fan noise with the sound dampened front panel nor the solid top panel doesn't make any difference to the audible level it seems to be the rear fan I hear the most. the included fan controller isn't great. it DOES NOT work on any PWM header except the CPU fan header, after some research it turns out it's down to motherboard manufacturer to provide the right power level to the PWM and only the CPU one is given the right power on my gigabyte Aorus pro ac. (other mobos might differ but it's not in any tech specs and is trial and error!) however, the solid panel does choke off airflow and that definitely affects temps. I run with mesh front solid top and the silent wing has a noticeable hum to them unless I turn them down to level 1 about 40% or 400 rpm then it is silent. but again does get hotter. But at no point on any setting has my r5 5600x and 2080 super thermal throttled. and the GPU fans when gaming for a while are much louder than the case fans. I intend to water cool the GPU and CPU but the case is a weird layout so dual rads will need to be 120 in the top and 140 in the front ( or both 120s for acoustic balance and 120 fans again will increase the sound levels. the case is excellent but needs tweaking to hit silence
@@acidxburn125 It does make a difference, you're just not hearing it, so it doesn't make a difference for you personally. Go check out Gamer Nexus' build and review with this case. They put it thru it's paces, & measure everything in their PC lab. Everyone doesn't hear decibels the same way, so it's best to make judgments from hard data. I'm an audio engineer that also games on the same machine, so this case seems built for my situation. How did everything turn out in the end? Were you able to get everything water-cooled to your liking? I moved components over from an older machine, but I'm about to do the same, w/a new gpu, but only because I want to, not that I need to. Audio production doesn't use much of the gpu (although depending on the DAW, you'd be surprised), so the only db's I'm worried about are w/the cpu & case temp in general.

those who buy asus motherboards, vivio immediately dislik and video ban do not buy asus motherboards they are of very low quality,and the body of the real is very good
