Just incase my Norwegian isn't good enough: Thank You.
When Grieg first conducted this in London,he was so moved by the beauty of the London Philharmonic's playing that he told a friend it was enough to bring tears to his eyes he wrote, and it sounded as if all Nature was calling to me from home
"spring" brings tears to my eyes, its a beutiful song! I think only norwegians truely understand griegs music, the way he brings out natures plays so fantasticly with his composes..! :)
Norway is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. I saw parts of the Hurtigruten televised spectacle and you guys are a lucky bunch. I am from Sweden by the way. I would bet that there are parts of the televised Hurtigruten on RUclips so go search it out!
Norway is awesome geographically-wise with the unique(New Zeland has some if I recall.) Fjords and the spring reminds me of why I'm still here! xD It's so wonderful when all the birds return, flowers and trees burst into life while there is still snow on the mountaintops. Fjords are PRETTY cold to live in tho. X_x Coastal living ftw(but remember rainproof/windproof gear for fall/winter season.)
Very beautifull indeed. Pity that the existing quality limits on RUclips prevent a better picture. I myself tested its limits on Norway and the Grieg pianoconcerto 1978. Both our contributions would look so much nicer with a 640x480 resolution, even in the flash format.
BTW. most of us are very friendly :)
Fantastic music. And nobody gives it better than Oslo Camerata. Trey put so much filings in to it, that I begin to cry. Pictures are good but not cleer on my PC. Not ewen in HQ-format. Sorry. Have been in Norway 2 times and this summer I take my whole family vith my to Telemarken and Hadangervidda.
@joakim2k10 Please remember that the Sami people of Norway isn´t restricted to Norway only. They are also settled in Sweden and Finland - and their language have a lot of similarities to the finnish.
There is often a slight difference in the translation of this music. Directly translated to "the Spring" as the en on the end would mean "the". But it seems in Norway, this should translate into " The Last Spring". None of this really matters, what is important is the music. If you ever have the chance to visit Norway, the westland is a must, Bergen, Hardanger Fjord, beautiful beyond words. Look at the beauty and enjoy the sound of Grieg.
hi ;) Jeg hetter Iwona und kommer og Poland. I'd like to go to Norway. Norway is beautiful country. this is my dream :D :D I hope that Norwegian people rewrite me something :D und God Jul!
@mrkristianjaeger I am from Norway, and the sami people are "called" the natives even though they are just as native as Norwegain, yes. and they have their own language, but they speak Norwegian too.
hehe. yeahh universiteit i oslo sent me a prospectus, and my friend said (word for word here) "everyone's blonde... and beautiful!! I want to go there!!" haha.
well, Norway's only just recently (1800's) got independence from the other scandinavian countries, and it is quite thoroughly a blend of other cultures, and a very globalised country.
@janet928 That's bullshit. Spring in Norway can be nice and plesant when the sunny weather kicks in. You can even do spring and summerskiing in the mountains just in bikini, and at the same time enjoy a sun that never sets. And in the valley floor, and by the fjords it will be so green as you never have seen before. Norway is a country with extreme contrasts on an epic scale.
@TVjoakim Uhm, they aren't called native Norwegians. They are Samis: They have their own culture and their own parliament without any executive power. Native Norwegians are the rest of us, while they are Samis living on Norwegian land, being considered Sami Norwegians. Get it?
@BENNYSIEGEL90 I guess you didn't read the other ones comment, as he/she was as big of a douchebag as me. You really nailed it with your intelligent last part though. I'm in chock that a man from the land of the boring could come up with an ownage of that magnitude. Bravo, Finn!
@timyfin yes, Oslo is ugly, and nope sami (samiske in norwegian) people don't speak finnish they speak samisk. and they are what we call "native norwegians" they live mostely in the north but it is a lot of them in Oslo too, and they speak norwegian too =)
Norway is beautiful, nobody denies. But norwegian themselves ? God had a lot sence of humour, as creating those vikings living in northern paradise ? PS: Grieg is my favorite :-)
I love Grieg soo much. This music says all from me to my love..
It's one of the most beautiful music I have ever listen to. EDVARD GRIEG still IS a genius. God bless Norway!

I am not from Norway, and probably the only thing that I know from it is this music. However I love it.
Beautiful music and beautiful images. I wonder what it is about Grieg's music that sounds so 'northern'.

i think it is good, but it rains abit, and the winters can get quite cold if you are not used to it.
