Tim thank you for running and maintaining such a smart, beautiful program. This is art, this is history, this is engineering and pop culture all in one! You are a true inspiration!
Tim this new format is as entertaining as it is impressive. It is not lost on us that you’re smoothly delivering the same informative and encyclopedic content while adding a whole new dimension of a separate camera AND narrating a cinematic tour of some beautiful pieces/movements. Seriously I don’t expect this heavy of a lift to keep tuning in every week but kudos to you and the production team. Keep showing us what’s in the safe! Well done, thank you.
Thanks so much for mentioning the leg work and coordination that goes into this. It's a huge order to keep the macros, two cameras, narrative, and screen graphics going in sync for 40 minutes. I was thrilled that it came across as a clean take, because we don't get the chance to edit or go from the top if a mistake happens! I always wish we had more viewers, but I'm thrilled with the quality of the viewers we DO have. Best, Tim
Bellissima gentlemen!!! Thank you, Tim and Shawn, for the excellent show. Great macros all around. Blancpain👍👍. More like this would be appreciated. 🥃🥃🥃
Both of us appreciate that! I can guaranty that we'll shoot more episode like this one or at least use the technology when the best watches are on hand at the office. Best, Tim
Thank You Tim for the stellar history lesson. One for the ages. You and Sean hard work is very much appreciated. Details and macro shots are mesmerizing by the professor. All the best sir and staff stay healthy and safe.
Vintage Tim, not beholden to clicks of rolex and omega! Loved it! This is the kind of content that i used to tune in for back in the day. It's been a long time since I looked forward to watching Tim's content. Thank you for putting together such an amazing episode.
Watching it the next day, what a show 😮😮😮 wish I have stayed up late yesterday cause you deserve it, incredible watches after incredible watches all video long. I am having a blast
I'm honored! As long as I'm here, I pledge to keep the quality high and keep the salesmanship and facts of the matter in balance with each other. Best, Tim
It's an engineering wonder. You DO need a wrist for it, however. I wish Lange had built it with a Bovet Amadeo-style case and given us the option of using it as a pocket watch or a desk clock. Best, Tim
*Great work as always Tim and team, the amount of work put into this is just fantastic, incredible macro shots again, cant wait for more of this, and really enjoyed the BlancPain pieces chosen for showcase, the knowledge and education provided by Tim is not lost on me, and it shouldnt be taken for granted, thanks so much, and have a great day* *also so very upset that i managed to miss yet another live show, no matter what i will always watch the recorded version AT LEAST once, but most likely multiple times there after, thanks again*
Tim, you are (in my eyes) the most sincere and interesting watch journalist I have come across. I'm planning on attending a watchmaking school in Canada thanks to your videos. It is a true pleasure to learn from you. Always passionate, never elitist. Cheers my dude!
I hope to see you down the line. I view a watchmaking certification as critical to continuing and making my WB job a career instead of a passing gig. Best, Tim
@@the1916companywatchreviewsThanks for your uplifting comment and I hope to cross paths with you as well, good sir! Could I add that I personally (and I'm sure others) would love to see more watchmaking content from WatchBox. I can see a high end piece deconstruction video with classic Tim Mosso commentary being pure gold... I would add a watchmaking course could be useful to ANY career as patience, precision, and three dimensional problem solving are all incredibly valuable assets! Perhaps I can take my best swing at a Jack Forester-type musing... Though hype watches and overinflated values have proven to be a temporary phenomenon, Watchmaking is the silent soul of the craft that will never fade away.
Incredible episode! Can we have a ‘budget’ version of this episode showing us bang for buck versions with open casebacks like the omega sapphire sandwich, NOMOS alpha movement etc…
I read the ‘debunk’ on Fifty Fathoms after you referenced it last week. I’m not convinced but others clearly are. Worryingly some people don’t even question what they read online. You’re a lighthouse of sense in a sea of madness, keep up the excellent content!
Yep, if I'm going to ask for 40+ minutes your night, I promise not to waste it. Just the best and most interesting watches. There wasn't a lot of mainstream hype hardware on tonight's show, but I think the models from all the brands were more exciting than the usual steel sports watches beloved of Instagram. Best, Tim
They were superb. I felt sorry that I didn't have a true 5015 on hand, but almost all the steel models have solid casebacks, so it wouldn't have added much. Best, Tim
Tim I am going to do everything I can to see these live. God damn this is a great video. Your ad videos are excellent. This long format is something you are producing at a high level. It is a ton of work. You and the team did amazing. Btw your wrong about Ghost. Greatest band ever. Stoned and eating swedish fish right now. That’s how I know.
I have a flair for salesmanship, but I try to keep it real. Oddly enough, high-concept gangster movies aren't really what come to mind when I think of Scarface. It seems more like the kind of thing you'd watch in a marathon with Natural Born Killers and From Dusk Till Dawn. It's more that kind of lurid parade of pulpy and stylish viscera. Best, Tim
Great content ! How would you compare Patek 5370 vs Datograph Double Split in terms of quality of finish ? I know they both benefit from second assembly. Keen to hear !
Thank you! I do wonder from time to time how some of these other channels pile up views, but my bosses seem to be happy with quality over quantity, so that makes me happy. We've built a pretty good thing without selling out entirely. I never feel embarrassed by what I say or how I say it. Best, Tim
@WatchBoxReviews Agreed. The quality of your content I feel is the best out there while still keeping true candor. The depth and breath of your knowledge is pretty awesome too. I like the addition of the macro shots of the watches to the episode, it adds a nice touch. Regards, Austin
Enjoying these macro shots. Could be interesting to see you open up some closed case back watches with the macro to do comparisons--no to put down any movements, I know you don't like to point out "negatives" on any watch.
Amazing show today Tim! As a suggestion, use a wood pointer to show macro details, as the camera tends to focus on your finger when you are doing that bare handed. As for the watches, although I respect De Bethune’s technical innovation, it’s style does not attract me at all. Cheers 🍻!!
Metal bands getting heavy play in my current rotation. Apodemus Tool Judas Priest Final Light Cult of Luna Hail of Bullets. Metal? Yeah. It’s the law. Thanks for the video and kind blessings Tim.
Tim, any thoughts on pushing back start time to 6 or 6:30PM EST? Can’t speak for others, but it’s really tough for me to join the live show and would be awesome if the (live) show started bit later in the evening.
We used to shoot at 6, but I had to make a tough call. It's asking a lot to hold the crew at the office until 7pm, and all of them have non-local drives home. Europe and the Middle East also tend to hang on for a late show if they know I'm going to shoot at 5pm US Eastern. I know that many of our US-based viewers would have an easier time watching after work if we shot at 6, and very few people actually have the freedom to even leave the office at 5pm as if this were a previous era of work. Best, Tim
Thank you! We love this tech, and I've been asking about it for years. This will add greatly to Monday nights when cool watches show up on short notice. Best, Tim
Lange's great, no doubt. I would give Patek a chance, though. There's thousands of Patek references that don't get much attention and deserve to be recognized. Best, Tim
@@francisgalang7786 I actually see the thickness as a selling point, it makes the watch feel substantial (at that price point, I´d want it to), also hard to get that decorated, 3D movement, without it being thick. There are plenty of saxonias, even Lange 1 (less than 11 mm thick) that you can go for if you'd like a thinner watch.
@@the1916companywatchreviews I´ve owned quite a few pateks and currently own 2 of them, I don't know, the feel and finishing doesn't feel the same IMO, Patek is a great brand, but I think the marketing behind it, makes everyone want it. I always end up reaching for my Lange´s to wear instead of Patek.
Scarface is a generational thing and a pop culture icon. The Godfather is a slightly different league. Think Lambo vs Ferrari (Ferrari with all it's racing trophies being the Godfather with its Oscars).
