I love how you’re not worried about getting the perfect angle and focussing on making everything look perfect as opposed to just enjoying your experience, it’s refreshing to get actual raw camping experience and being in nature’s elements. There’s too many channels that are focussing on the perfect shots rather than just filming themselves enjoying the experience. It looks so cozy, you’ve become one of my top channels to watch. Last time i camped was in a state camp ground that was in the middle of town. Shared a 10 person Ozark Trail tent with my brother. Cots, camp chairs, and card tables. Glamping in 2017.

Abel, this video reminds me why I love San Diego North County. It's warm almost all the time where I live. If I do want snow, I can drive to Ramona about 30 minutes away. Old bodies don't mix well with winter.

This is fantastic. I’ve only managed one solo camp myself and if you haven’t tried it I implore you to. The weather wasn’t as wild as this but after cooking and hanging out and having a few beers, the feeling of putting on comfy clothes and climbing into your bag is truly special!

How come there is always only one weka? I think you secretly bring it along to add some comedy and awww-so-cute factor to your videos. 😂 You can tell a seasoned camper for someone like me. Once I take the tent out, I have no idea how to put it back in what bag. Here is hoping Victoria is doing better, that "morning sickness" can be brutal. Here is to a healthy baby and mom.

The first time I ever watched one of your videos, I saw the Weka (spelling?) And it was pretty much in your camp the entire time. In fact, when you were packed up and walking away It was right behind you, walking with you.. And honestly, I assumed it was your pet- I had no idea what it was and I figured you brought your bird along!

I recently did the brioche buns with lite burger buns, red cheddar and watties burger sauce (with pickles)...tasted almost the same as McDonalds big mac, but healthier and more filling. I would suggest this for the next camp if you like big macs. Looks very cold there, glad you stayed safe and warm. (Not as cold here in North Island).

Hi Abel, love your awesome new tent. It’s great that you have some more weatherproof space for these very wintery camp outs. You definitely need it sometimes with all the snow and wind that you get there in NZ. I know that you have an outside tarp always but I don’t understand why you don’t always have a tarp over your tent just for that extra warm and protection from the extreme weather conditions you experience but I know that you embrace the bad weather and sometimes the worse the better for you 😂. So there’s my answer I suppose. Loved the video as always, take care and thank you. 😊

We have camped all our lives, and never once has the rain kept us awake, and no we don't use ear plugs, we love the sound of the rain and snow in a tent. Even if it is pouring down and loud no problems sleeping at all. It seems to be a NZer's normal problem as I have seen other vlogs over there including Tony not being able to sleep in wind and rain.
Sometimes its just to loud. I still get some sleep but often wake up to big deluge or gusty winds
love the video! I understand the wood your using is "hard" any idea how it compares to hard wood like Oak in the states or other types in other regions so we might have a Fram of reference? Nice Knife by the way... pretend I drop a Paul Hogan gift lol
Another great video. It's quite warm here in the uk at the moment, so seeing snow and wind and cold is a welcome break from this warmer weather. I am definitely a winter person lol.
