Makes sense since the 6700XT is meant to compete with the RTX 3070. But we are comparing two gpus at the same price here, so another win for AMD.
Just because it has a 7? You think the 7900XT is meant to compete with the 4090 because it has a 9?
@@BlackJesus8463 rx 6700xt accuracy better than Rtx 3070 in some game without ray

@@BlackJesus8463 Just look at every other benchmark... Here he is comparing 2 gpus of the same price range, and showing how much better the 6700XT is for the same price as the RTX 3060. The 6700XT is a card that is meant to compete with the RTX 3070. That is how AMD decided to be when naming their 6000 series cards. But they are not consistent with that. For example the 5700XT, their flagship Navi GPU wasn't meant to compete with the 2080 Ti. The 7900XTX is not meant to compete with the 4090, and AMD has stated that. It is 500 dollas cheaper after all. Just like how the RX 580 wasn't meant to compete with the GTX 1080. But for the 6000 series cards, yes, the 7 does mean that.
I owned a 6700xt and I would never buy amd again
Nvidia “we decided to remove the 4080 12gb, to many model versions make it confusing”. Also nvidia let’s release yet another 3060 model because 3 different models isn’t confusing (4 if u include the LHR version) lmao.

But you would still see nvidia fanboys and normies who don't know anything about GPUs telling people to buy a 3060 over a 6700XT or even a 6600XT, because it has [insert here nvidia's marketing buzzword that AMD doesn't have even though it does have a competitor for most stuff] they complain about AMD's drivers and lack of features without realizing that AMD has like less than 10% of nvidia's total size and revenue, and refuse to buy AMD even if it gives you better performance per $, thus denying them money to increase their budgets and R&D teams and basically establishing a soft monopoly on the industry, it's how we got where we are where nvidia has almost like 80% of the market no matter what AMD does. It's a vicious cycle.
True, nvidia does have better features and value but the 6700 xt has better raw performance when playing the games also nvidias tracing is good

Hi Daniel! George from Greece here! I'm wondering, why NOBODY performs GPU tests that includes X-Plane sim, although there is a demo available.. its much faster than a 3060 12GB or a 3060 TI 8GB, actually match or close to a 3070 in a lot of games.
This GPU is 3rd fastest 6700xt behind strix and nitro being 1st and 2nd.
Its a great buy at $300 used, and for some reason I saw this model sell cheaper multiple times VS other models.
Did you OC it personally ? If so can you tell me about temps and fan noise with OC ? I've also found this model for so much cheaper than the rest and i might buy it.
Man AMD is tearing up the mid-low end, love to see it, been encouraging my friends to take the plunge on their first builds with it. Really hate how nVidia cards have become a bloated luxury product.
The 6700XT is staying above 60fps average (and even above 60fps %1 lows) at Native 1440p MAX settings in almost every game tested in this video. That's quite a premium gaming experience. I know it's 2 years old and much better GPU's have released but calling it "mid-low end" sounds a bit extreme imo. When i hear mid-low end i think 1080p medium settings and barely staying above 60fps. So more like a 2060 / 5600XT. That being said, i completely agree with your point otherwise.
@@ninjafrozr8809 it's definitely mid end, a year ago it was mid-high end. not even close to low end when you have the 7600, the 6600, 6500 xt, 3050, 4060 8gb, etc. that said the drivers and encoder are ass and have given me nothing but trouble for 7 months

I love my RX6700XT (Powercolor AIB model). First AMD GPU since the early days of PC gaming when ATI was still around! I'm loving the built-in overclocking and metrics thing.. And built-in bug/crash submission feature. (yeah, I know.. AMD needs it! ;)) But honestly, their software/drivers are not perfect yet but miles better than they used to be.. Beside an Obscure golfing Sim software (E6 Connect) that has random crashes with it I've had no problems running stuff like FarCry6 at 4K using FSR... And the best part is I got it used and didn't have to pay the stupid Nvidia extortion tax..
I'm running a 6700xt, myself. I'm very impressed with its performance at 1440p. Most games, I'm able to play at Ultra and Very High settings, well above 60fps. I'm running the 5800x3D CPU, and have the 6700xt undervolted to 1160mV and overclocked to 2700MHz. I definitely don't hit 2700MHz. However, I frequently see it above 2600MHz.

I like that you tested games at low and medium ray tracing settings in addition to high. So many reviewers seem to crank the RT when comparing Nvidia and AMD ray tracing performance and then claim that AMD gets slaughtered. In reality, most people aren’t using ultra ray tracing even on the RTX 3060 where it technically performs better. If someone wants to use ray tracing at this price point, AMD honestly still makes more sense.

With all the benchmarks being the 16GB version there is no information on which version is the value. With Intel's aggressive pricing it would be nice to see which one is the better value.

And I was using all new games rather than older games that would be even worse for Intel. They are making big improvements but I just don't think the average user should buy them at this point. You may disagree, but that is my experience on the latest drivers. They definitely beat Nvidia in price to performance but the lead over AMD is much smaller and depends a lot on the games tested. Can you share what do you use to see all those fps, usage, temps etc
In Cyberpunk it looks like AMD uses ~1-2 gigabytes more system RAM, that's really interesting. The driver must be buffering more datums because I can't imagine the game itself would be doing anything different based on what GPU is installed - just calling into the graphics API blindly. It seems to be pretty consistent across all graphics settings too, RT on/off, FSR/DLSS on/off, etc... Some games seem to consume about the same amount of system memory between GPUs, while other games seem to use 2GB more on AMD, if not more than 2GB! AMD is using almost 3 whole gigabytes more on AMD than Nvidia. That's pretty crazy.
@@Medieval1-1 I noticed that too but then you actually look at the frametime graphs and for some reason, even though Nvidia looks buttery smooth, the graph itself is spikey. I hope D-0wn4g3 didn't mix them up or something, because that's what it looks like.

yo hi can you test the rx 6600 non xt again ? i love this card because of the performence at the low power consumption
I just got a 3060 12GB for 70€ less then the cheapest 6700 XT. Thanks to the lower power draw I could get a used platinum rated psu for good money, saving me over 100€ compared to the 6700 XT. I can save on the electricity bill too. I got the card for workstation usage (actually more important to me )and occasional gaming, to replace a laptop which has a 1660 ti. Seeing the performance boost for the price, AMD seems pretty good! Though it was definitely over my budget so I am happy about what I got for the price. Especially considering, that nvidia usually has better support in content creation software like Blender.
Other AMD options in that price range had only x8 pci slots, and as I am using a pcie 3 board, the bottleneck would have been the vram refilling.
my 6700 XT actually saves me money compared to a friends 3060 sooo not sure what you talking about
much tougher prices outside USA.
I'm thinking between 3060 TI and 6700xt. Both cards retail at roughly $550, those are the best choices I got. Used market is also terrible, selling cards at around $100 cheaper and 0 warranty.
You would be the absolute MVP if you actually benchmarked 8 vs 12gb 3060's!!
guys help please, on my local microcenter the 6950 xt brand new cost 700$ and an open box 7900 xt cost the same 700$ wich one I should buy, thanks for your help
The 7900 xt definitely.
But whats good for rendering like 3d Blender and all, specially ray tracing of Nvidida,
DAZ3d also has problem with rx cards
Just bought a open box $493 total after tax Asus TUF 6900XT to replace a Gigabyte Gaming OC 6700XT. I always monitor my system stats on a 2nd 34" monitor above my main screen so I know temps and power usage. My 6700XT in BF4 would use around 150-200 watts to push the 142fps cap I have set for 1440p. My 6900XT barely has to work and actually only uses about 100watts in the same game. I was shocked that the 6900XT was almost 100 watts less power usage than 6700XT on older easier games. Now on newer games the 6900XT uses up to 275watts where the 6700XT was about 200 max. So funny to see the 6900XT run no fan speed, run around 55c in game and use about 100watts less power than my 6700XT.
The more brand loyalty you have, the more you allow them to price gouge you
The temperature of 6700XT is very frightening. Thats the temperature that will indeed reduce the life of a GPU
Man I really wish the 3060 Ti had 12GB like the 3060.
I love my 6700xt. Im able to get 90-100fps at 1440p for most games at least, usually higher
idk i feel this day and age... why are we still stuck around a 60fps mark as the "norm"? why...
Bought the MSI gaming 6700 XT best purchase ever, and this video cherry on top xD
Got the 6700xt for my girlfriend's rig a few months ago for just 300 euro's. What a gem of a card tbh.
Me personally I'm more interested in how AMD will make use of their chiplet designs moving forward. As things stand AMD cards might age better thanks to more VRAM. So many games are VRAM hungry these days.
On a side note AMD/ATI wasn't always lagging behind the competition. From what I remember ATI were the first ones out with DX11 and tessellation compatible GPUs. I actually had a mid-tier 1st gen ATI DX11 compatible card on my childhood gaming rig. If I remember correctly it actually took a while for Nvidia to catch up.
Maybe it will be like that for mcm chips now.
The screwed up thing with ATI is they had a commanding lead in terms of technology and could sell their, much smaller, GPU's for cheaper WHILE performing the same as Nvidias best BUT... Nvidia still won on sales by far due purely to mindshare back in those days.
AdoredTV has a long video going in depth on the topic called "The GPU war is over" and its very eye opening.
@@DebasedAnon was like that pretty much last gen too, I think gamers should just buy AMD cards since that's what they are good at, but influencer bias exists and Nvidia is better in creative things.
@@LagiohX3 was kinda like that, AMD had the same/better performance at lower prices but people could still make arguments like Raytracing/DLSS at the time.
Back in the ATI days there were multiple generations where ATI literally matched/exceeded Nvidias performance while having a die size like 50% smaller which meant vastly less energy usage/cooling required and then they went aggressive and priced it at like HALF of what Nvidia was charging and they STILL lost in sales.
Mindshare is a helluva drug
The RX 6700 XT is around 25%-40% faster than the same priced RTX 3060 12GB, has a substantial lead of 5%-15% (sometimes slower although both GPUs showed unplayable results) while consuming just 10% more power. What even impresses me more is that the RX 6700 XT is up to 50% more efficient than RTX 3060. So, RX 6700 XT is better at raster than RTX 3060 while being cheaper and still gives good RT performance.
These Radeons dont have exhaustive power monitoring, they underestimate power by a big margin.
225W and 170W is not 10% difference. But yeah gaming wise 6700XT is a bargain. Although the drivers of AMD are mess.. now it caused like 10% of people to have their windows completely corrupted and are facing constant black screen and BSOD issues.
Um. I have a 6700xt. And 3060, 3070, 3080 in my house. RT isn't very good on anything below the 3080.
@@roastinpeace2320 You mean that about 10% (and you're exaggerating, there are a handful of people that make a LOT of noise and it makes it seem like more people than it is) of people didn't do a windows update before doing a driver update?
That was the main problem. It crashes the system if Windows is updating at the same time you install this new driver package. While it is a problem, it's also a good idea to manually run Windows update before installing drivers because those two things just shouldn't happen at the same time. It's why whenever I'm doing anything with hardware on a PC, I update windows first.
@@niebuhr6197 By a big margin?
I'm not going to talk about the Red Devil because those are set up to OC. It's why you buy a Red Devil.
Almost every AIB 6700 XT comes with a single 8 pin power connector. Those deliver 150W if needed. Then 75W from the bus. So, it's physically designed to deliver up to 225W but AMD says they will draw 230W MAX.
Most of the AIBs are listed with a TDP of 225 or 230W. So you're saying all these AIBs are lying?
I just checked the initial reviews, GN got around 220W, HDWU got around 221W and LTT shows continuous over a time period and there were a couple of brief peaks around 240W but for the most part it was running around 220W.
So I guess what you mean is you're calling the world of reviewers and companies liars?
Really I think you're just making stuff up, or you saw a person who was OCing their GPU in which case they WILL start to consume closer to 240W.
Got a Amazon Renewed 6800 Friday for $434 by power color.
Great video :)
I settled for the 3060 because it was the only option I had during the mining craze, but I agree that the 6700 XT is superior and people should buy it.
Nah Nvidia is superior because of DLDSR, DLSS, RTX VSR and Reflex.
@@henryyiu618 it's better because of features but barely matters to gamers than 25% more fps, you forgot fsr has almost the same support with dlss right?
@@deathtoinfidelsdeusvult2184 All these features matter more to me than slight cheaper price. And FSR isn't as good as DLSS (yet).
@@henryyiu618 no one uses those features other then incels and professionals. And FSR exists…
@@therockwizard.9687 Umm those are all commonly used features. And neither FSR nor XeSS use temporal yet. Nvidia basically leads in ways to utilize Tensor cores usage. AI accleleration will only get more mainsteam.
I look at my reference RX6800 going strong in my mini itx build compared even to a RTX3080 that runs hot and east more power.
Currently have a 1060 6g. I desperately want a 6700 xt because it's the perfect middle road. Sadly I can't afford one but I can dream :)
Those thermals though, yeesh. 6700 xt might run slightly better for gaming but draws way more power and heat, so something to also consider.
I know we're not comparing coolers here, but the 6700XT is hitting close to 80 C in those fortnite tests. Idk at what temp it starts throttling but 80 C should surely have some effect on performance. My RX 580's performance falls off a cliff after 76 C.
the rx 6700 xt doesn't have thermal throttling at 80°C so it's ok
Quick tip for fortnite benchmarking. U can pause the time of day so that u guarantee consistent results (it’s in the camera settings, I usually set to 16 for decent looking gameplay)
Interesting. I'll take a look at that for future testing.
In Norway the 6700 xt costs the same as the 3060 ti new. On the used market the 6700 Xt costs the same as the 3070.
Dang you guys are getting hosed we can grab oc 6800xt with two games for less than that cheapest refrance 3070.
Competitive settings for mw2 is literally almost everything on low or off haha… so much stuff that you don’t need in that game
I have both the 6700xt ref and a 3070 TUF, the 6700xt over the 3060 is a no brainer.
Bought a 6700xt less than a week ago. LOVE it.
I have ryzen 5 3500 processor, but i am thinking of getting new graphics card should I buy rx 6700 xt or 3060 12 gb. I don't have enough budget to upgrade cpu for now, bit afraid of bottlenecking
Hey daniel, i had seen all the comparing videos, so can i do a video of rx6700 non xt and rtx 3060.
Anecdotal story here, but I went out and bought a 2nd hand 6700XT for my friend when he was looking for a new card replacing his dead 2070S. It does seem like a really nice deal on paper (228 USD equivalent for the card in my local currency) but for the short time of me testing the card, and for my friend owning it a few weeks already, it seemed really buggy. Performance is a far cry from my even older 3060 Ti in destiny 2 with massive frame drops, accompanied with even more bugs in Windows explorer in which everything turned black. And this wass on the newest driver too.
Maybe you bought a faulty used card
I agree the RX 6700 XT is better than the RTX 3060, but I went for the RTX 3060 because undervolted it only consumes 120w instead of the 180 of the 6700XT. Also I put it into a mini itx build.
"The RX 6700 XT ravenously chomps down 178.8 W of power, while the RTX 3060 takes up around 163.2 W on average. A 9.12% rise in power consumption in the RX 6700 XT points towards the RTX 3060 as the better option, at least in terms of power efficiency." (Source: Tech4gamers)
The difference is 15.6W. It will take about 64 hours to consume 1KW. With a price of €0,40/KWh (the current average energy price in the Netherlands) every 160 hours will cost €1,- in energy costs. There's also a small environmental cost to this extra energy usage as well, but this is very hard (if not impossible) to assign a comprehensive number to. It's still something to keep in mind, but with the increased performance of the 6700xt it still ends up with more frames per Watts
3060 is too weak and ti has too little vram
I honestly don't get why they lowered the vram even the 3070
@@JesManVP because they trick their dumb customers into going for higher tier cards like 3090 and 4090. Basically planned obsolescence with low VRAM so more customers turn into top-end buyers even if they were originally low or mid-range buyers. They only give the 3060 more vram because they know the 60 class is their best selling
@@JesManVP because it's cheaper to produce.
money
@@JesManVP cos its nvidia
My Asus 6700XT does it all really well for me. I'm very happy with it.
Looks like retailers in this part of Europe are watching closely the independent reviewers and make sure the customer doesn't get too much of a price/performance deal. Cheapest 6700XT costs about 64 USD more than cheapest 3060 12GB. Not exactly good for AMD market share in a cost conscious environment.
Is 81° C save? I'm just wondering
So what one is better for 1440 gamelan for fortnite and diablo 4 please help building a ryzen 5 5600
When people tell me "The GPU market is messed up" I look at them crazy. You can get a 6800Xt for $550 with a free game, a 6700XT for $350 with a free game and a 6700 for $300 with a free game. Stop looking at the 4090, 4080, and 7900XTX. PC parts have never been cheaper. I just built my friend a 12600K build with 6700XT for $950. At Mircocenter you can get a 12600k and Motherboard for $300.
is JAWA only an american thing or does it have international shipping?
I bought a 3060 for my wife's computer. Admittedly an 8gb one. I needed a white GPU, sometimes looks matter. My computer is all AMD and ill always suggest AMD over Nvidia when I put together a pc for somebody. The 6700xt blows the 3060 out of the water. Especially the 8gb version my wife has. That being said, it's runs the games she plays well and looks good doing it. AMD needs more white gpus. My hand was forced.
how are you getting low fps i got a 6700xt and in fortnite 1080p epic settings i get over 160fps
for me i wait til next year will be better offerings than this year is huge mess now that only good offering is coming from nvidia in performance range only...pricing...i just keep my hopes high when drop it due to super line up is in their cards now that make 4070ti cheaper by summer months but i not gonna jump for it when battlemage ARC is something i am considering now that its becoming noticeable is similar during 5700xt early releases had full of shares with problems then becoming noticeable difference that folks bought into rdna2...same for ARC2 becoming bigger than expected of a threat that i don't see AMD anything but anything good coming out next time...i just think the radeon division is dead now until AMD start be serious making workable stuff again not just drivers ...but everything comes out lately
3060 8gb is a straight up scam, and I feel bad for the people who don't know any better and end up buying it.
How come every other review of these two GPU's shows the RX 6700 XT being about 20% faster than the 3060? gpu-userbenchmark shows better benchmark results for the 6700 xt and so does various other review sites?
