Honestly, the cirque's are way more useable than the claws of night. I have used the cirques far more so I am biased but putting frost on them and using smithscript talisman, shard of alexander, and swift slash is absolutely devastating. A perfect combination of ranged offense and defense.
Actually I've come to realize that if you put that on the Smith Lance, it actually does a really decent bit of damage. Over 1300 for my testing, whereas the basic throw deals around 900. It's a good "Hey same move, weak damage right? Catch it." lol. I've hit unsuspecting people with it for like half their life

I feel like the Spectral Lance Ash of War could've made for a somewhat decent substitute for the throwable weapons in the base game.
