Besides his Generation One form, the only other transformations I can get behind for Soundwave was being a Cybertronian satellite and a reaper drone. They fit him well. All these other ones just don't cut it in my opinion. He needs to be a mobile espionage vehicle.

Im not the only one who dug the satelite! lol. The deluxe movie one is with my 2007 baddie line up from the studio series line but he looks outta place.. The dotm voyager shockwave looks good with the SS guys but a tad short. Hes like brawls height. Im sure he'll get a ss makeover, but soundwave will probly just get his mercedes form i bet..
Unfortunate fact: the Siege mold of Soundwave can't transform into his cassette player mode on its own because of some mold limitations, which the Netflix Soundwave got modified with.
I actually really dig the box ship, but I wish we had some examples of it in the fiction. The lamp mode is 100% what I got him for, so I'm happy as a clam anyway!
I just picked up Soundwave and his Cassette pack of Laserbeak & Ravage. I really appreciate that the designers gave him his lamp post mode considering that's the 1st time you see Soundwave in the Original Cartoon. I also like that they gave him his "secret" tape deck mode. I'm not a fan of his ship mode, but his robot mode more than makes up for it. Thanks for the review. Awesome job.
I love the Siege line! I bought Optimus Prime and Sixgun with my christmas money and I love then both equally. Optimus especially. Since I work at Walmart we have access to the special versions of Optimus Prime and Megatron with the cartoon style paint-job. Very cool
This is low-key my favorite Soundwave ever. There's something desperate and out of energy about him. He feels like a terrific update of G1 in that way.

Okay, so I tried it and for some reason it fits VERY loosely in Megatron's back ports, and only sticks out an inch above his backpack. I'm sure you can tighten the connection if you really wanted to, but it's not as good as I thought it would be. It's not a bad idea though!

FINALLY someone thought that. Made that comment to another guy who reviewed Soundwave toy. Made same comment about Megatron backpack covers it a bit. BUT, I think that's what Hasbro intended the grey gun for. I personally like it.

Shocking to believe just how Machinima-accurate Siege Megatron was. Especially in robot mode, with the perfect G1 proportions and the tank treads on his back...
Lamp post, reminds me of BIG when the robots transformed into buildings. Also to be fair he actually did pull off the Lamp post in one of the earlier eps. when they where on Cybertron and Bumblebee and Wheel Jack were stealing energon rods. As much as I like G1, I really wish they would do different and more obscure characters rather than keep doing the same characters over and over again. It gets boring over time.
I found him at a Walmart late last week. I expected the shelf to be barren like usual, but there he, and Starscream sat. I love both figures. FoC Soundwave was my Soundwave before, but this guy easily replaces him. Guess I'll have to order his cassettes though.
Although the alt mode is not my favourite (at least it looks Cybertronian), this version of Soundwave is one of my favourites. Love the proportions, love the articulation, love his colours, and love his cassettes. Mine is currently in storage and I love the mold so much I'm tempted to get another or Soundblaster. Giving him a scythe and a shield. Just google soundwave melee weapon, go scroll through images, and you might find it

the lamppost mode doesn't actually look like the original lamppost so it doesn't really matter as far as i'm concerned. the g1 figure can pull it off quite well though.
Lamp post mode is my favorite mode, because it's his super secret spy mode that no one could ever figure out. Also I always wanted a Soundwave with this mode because it's dumb, thats why I love it.

Idk about anyone else but the scratches in the windscreen look to me like the screen's been totally shattered or very near so, really giving off a '86 Movie dead Optimus vibe. I think just a few scratches near the corners would've made more sense
The legs for laserbeak can actually fit on his forearms (but not securely) using groves on either the right or left forearm if you don't want to use the peg and have laserbeak with legs
This has probably already been said or you probably already know this or both but the lamp-post mode is from the original cartoon whenever it showed them in a flashback on cybertron before they went to earth and that was actually his canon alt mode (timeline wise) before he had a cassette player mode.
Finally, a lamppost mode! I'd rather have a proper tape deck mode than the ship mode. Yeah, we've had a few good tape deck Soundwaves recently, but I figure it's a shame to give us a cassette-holding torso and not give us a proper tape deck alt mode. But even if his only alt mode was a Furby, I'd probably get this guy just for the robot mode.

Well, I've seen a pic of the third weapon being used as a trumpet. Like at Starscream's "coronation".
You likely could combine the two main weapons, sadly the scope option, while cool, does not work

I can honestly say that this figure was an example of maybe A little too much battle damage effect. My personal opinion tho
Hasbro really pulls all the plugs on these designs, even the ones we thought would be bad turn out to be amazing

I like to have the legs transformed for ship mode in lamp post mode. In the tv show, his legs formed a single piece.

Soundwave always has the best gimmick. I may need to collect this version despite his alt mode because that is a fine looking robot.
