Jet2 Boeing 737-3QC | Afternoon Alicante Departure

Welcome on board the return flight from the beautiful Alicante back to the not so beautiful Leeds. We start today on the transfer bus, included as part of the Jet2holidays package. We were the only Jet2 departure out on that Wednesday, making check-in fast, and security seamless. A short walk through the infamous World Duty Free, takes us out to the bright and airy Departure Lounge recently built at Alicante. Unfortunately, we didn't have much time between getting to the lounge and boarding the aircraft, so not much footage there. Onto the aircraft, and the Captain welcomes us onboard. On the flight deck today were three Captains - one of whom in the jumpseat of this quirky little plane. I call it quirky as, you may have noticed from the title, the aircraft is a so called 'Quick Change' aircraft, meaning it operates passenger flights, as well as cargo flights (midnight first class mail runs for royal mail). The aircraft, despite its age was in good condition, the interior impeccable as always. We push back, and taxi to the easterly facing runway, 10 - the same runway we came in on, and the most commonly used at Alicante. Departing out to the sea, we take a sharp left turn in a Northerly direction, routing us back over the eastern Spanish coastline, noticeably over the high-rise hotels that line Benidorm. We climb to our cruise at 32,000 feet, and pass over the beautiful Pyrenees...
