    Overhead the albatross
    Hangs motionless upon the air
And deep beneath the rolling waves
    In labyrinths of coral caves
An echo of a distant time
    Comes willowing across the sand
And everything is green and submarine
And no one called us to the land
And no one knows the where's or why's
    Something stirs and something tries
Starts to climb toward the light
    Strangers passing in the street
By chance two separate glances meet
And I am you and what I see is me
And do I take you by the hand
And lead you through the land
    And help me understand
    The best I can
And no one called us to the land
And no one crosses there alive
No one speaks and no one tries
No one flies around the sun
    Almost everyday you fall
    Upon my waking eyes
    Inviting and inciting me
    To rise
And through the window in the wall
Come streaming in on sunlight wings
A million bright ambassadors of morning
And no one sings me lullabys
And no one makes me close my eyes
So I throw the windows wide
And call to you across the sky

Thank you so much for this reaction Ruben! This song is an absolute masterpiece, you can hear the perfect bond between David Gilmour and Rick Wright, how they complete each other both singing and playing. You can tell how much fun they were having during the funky jamming section, and then after the weird noise part comes one of the most atmospheric build up I've ever heard. Everything in this track is pure magic for me, I know it's a very long song but in my opinion it's worth the journey. Someone may complain about the version I chose for my request, I know that the live at pompeii is also amazing and it has the full band with Roger Waters, but on youtube you always find it in 2 separated parts. And this version is also very emotional for me because is the last performance with Rick. Gilmour said he won't play this song live anymore without him, and that shows how much they loved each other.
That being said, thank you again Ruben, you are the best. Glad you liked the song and I hope you will listen to it again from time to time. Cheers!

The "talk" between Dave and Rick at the end is so beautiful and sad, almost like they know time is running out and is saying goodbye to each other.
I notice Ruben likes Gilmour's guitar, hope he does marooned live :))

I know Pink Floyd doesn't get you the most views or likes, your audience is somewhere else and that is cool to. But know that your your other stuff doesn't go unnoticed. I wish I could give you more than one thumbs up. I am a big fan, even if metal isn't really my thing, I appreciate the talent. You made me discover a lot. Than you.
Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦and from a huge Pink Floyd fan.

    • @TheAmazingSnarf

David donated the majority of his guitars. he has stated that he has plenty of guitars left, and that he is most certainly not done playing, writing, composing. thank goodness for that, yes?
mind boggling, but true: in his view, the Fender Custom Shop remakes of his famous Black Strat sound as good, or even better, than the one he used throughout his career. so, from a fan's perspective, we're good. the master still has his tools, and still uses them.

Why would anyone choose this over Pink Floyd? The guitar on this is turned up way too loud. Always a problem with Gilmour and Gilmour era Floyd, guitar way too high in the mix. Plenty of power tho'.

Although I hate when the song is paused, I would prefer that the reactor did so and gave there full attention to the music. You sat quietly thru most of the quieter parts, then began talking thru a pivotal point in the song. Understand, it's not about me not being able to appreciate the song because of the talking. It's about the you not hearing all of the song that you're reviewing. I have listened to this song at least few 100 times over the past 50 years. You're the guy who hasn't. Well, I think that you still haven't. Not fully, anyway. Too harsh? Yeah, so I've been told.
