@@operatorphantom1459didn't play dead space but I agree playing as a regular UNSC soldier in a horror game would be very cool. Not being able to rely on your shields to pop the infection forms or protect you from the shrapnel of flood-launched rockets. Although the supercell can infect a perfectly healthy person, maybe your character could have a nifty helmet that serves as an air filter but no pressurised armour. Then the more cuts or shrapnel damage you get, the more susceptible you get to violently being assimilated
they could do the flood taking over a planet and giving us the perspective of the unsc on the planet trying and failing to protect it and use zero spartans to do it and if they made it gritty itll be the best halo ever
The two marines and two jackals aligning together to fight the flood, even for a short time, was so heartwarming and was so heartbreaking when they finally lost. F's in the comments for them and Marcus.
I love how well the fans contribute to Halo, it’s probably the same for most big gaming communities, but Halo feels like it’s held up by its community to an even greater extent
team fortress 2 literally does valves job for them. every cosmetic, war paint (weapon skin), taunt (emote), map, bug fix is made by the community to the point where theres a fan remake of the game using an 2008 version as a base (as in the literal 2008 version of the game) and another team remaking the game from scratch in the source 2 engine

Imagine in a new Halo: CE remake, there's a section on the main menu just called "Mobuto" or something, and you get to play through pretty much everything we saw him go through in these animations, and the HUD looks like the marine bodycam footage at 18:40. That could be a great hour or two of some extra content to play through.
I have been following those animations while they were developed, and was giving him feedback and advice. I really love how he can capture the feel of the OG Halo CE animations with the movement and camera work almost the exact same as the game cutscenes. It really is mind-blowing that he can give us a visual representation of what we have always had to imagine in our minds; and now we can see it on screen! Thank you Luc for spreading awareness about these short films so more Halo fans can appreciate and enjoy them!
As a UNSC marine, Marvin has probably been killing Covies for years, then he crash-lands on an alien ring-world, and is teleported by a blue orb into a confined space with the Flood. That poor bastard.
It feels nice seeing big youtubers acknowledge smaller ones. Since the vid released NotPipi increased by 2k subs the last I checked. And, yes, his animations are indeed very good.
If Marvin Mobuto were in project Orion, he'd be up there with Johnson. If he were selected into Spartan II program, we'd have three Hyperlehtal designations.
How cool would it be to see a Generation Kill/Band of Brothers style series detailing a gritty story of a Halo CE Marine platoon complete with witty dialogue and squad chemistry. A man can dream.
Breaking quarantine is insanely good and seemingly rather underrated, Mona Lisa is another peak piece of flood content. The graphic novel Johnson’s story pops up in has a great story about some elites dealing with flood that’s legitimately super interesting. There’s a lot of cool less known halo content with the flood that I hope you see at some point if you haven’t already!
Thank you HiddenXperia for sharing this, it's amazing work and I have sent a sub to NotPipi's channel. Here's a crazy idea, imagine the Halo community donated to someone trustworthy to pass on the funds to Blur studios with the green light from Microsoft to animate what would be the first true Halo motion picture on the big screen, a movie based on the novel The Flood giving Halo fans the Halo CE story along with the events of Installation 04. That would be a dream come true!
I remember videos on 343 guilty spark pointing out the small detail of those marines and jackal corpses being there. Seeing an animation on that is both neat to see and saddening.
I swear i just watched NotPipi YESTERDAY and already Hidden is covering this guy. NotPipis animation's are great and definitely deserves more attention!!!
A remake of halo CE with all the extra parts of lore from the flood book and everything else like ODSTS, maybe being able to see the camp that was built ( i forgot the name of it alpha base or something ) Linda in the cryosleep pod, and maybe even like extra missions or even just little Easter eggs and a overhaul of the graphics as long as they stayed faithful to the og look would be sooo cool
I've watched that first one before. Installation 00 made a community post about it a while ago. I didn't know about the other ones, though. Also, i think the D on the time at 12:31 stands for deployment, not day. So it would be 64 hours after either waking up from cryo or from landing on the ring.
Kig yar and humans teaming up makes the most sense than any other combo with the kig yar being in the covenant for money and piracy and not being zealous like the elites. I think it might be mentioned somewhere in the lore of the four teaming up to fight the flood
@12:30 The +64 hours is the total mission time. From his awakening on the Pillar of Autumn to that log was a little over 2 and a half earth days. At least if the armour clock is synced to an Earth clock. If it's a dynamic sync to what ever planet he is on, then its possible that a Day on a Halo ring isnt 24 hours and the time may be converted to a local day/night with an hour being longer or shorter as needed. For example if a day (noon to noon) was actually only 12 earth hours then the timer would be running at about 2x speed compared to a timer on Earth.
Just watching this vid makes me want a flood horror story even more and not just one at least 3 each with a different pov or maybe just have one long really well done film with 3 povs from 3 different protags. Crazy how just the beginning stage of the flood makes enemies turn to allys
Crazy how it reignited the same vibe I got when i first came across The Flood. I've been seeing comments lately saying The Library is the worst level in CE. That baffles me because me and my friends had the most fun on that level, and we would play it over and over.
CE had so many little stories within the story with just corpse placements This guys work is brilliant, imagine him doing stories such as Rtas' raid on the Infinite Succor, Operation First Strike and the story of Zuka Zamamee
I've said it before and I'll say it again: The very talented modding community could come together and make mini campaigns and standalone missions to bring stuff like Sargeant Johnson's escape, Marvin Mobutto, Chips Dubbo, or that Flood outbreak on a Covenant ship where the Shipmaster had to duel his old mentor at the end into the game. - Sodaz, HaloVFX and the guy who did the excellent videos showcased in this vid (and others I'm sure) could do cutscenes. - Organizers of the project could run a page where they post what is needed, and let people submit sound bytes for voice acting work to be used in the mods. Getting Halo RUclipsrs like Hidden Xperia, Act Man, etc. to do stuff for projects like this shouldn't be too hard either. - We can all see that there's a lot of talented people active on the Steam Workshop who could do the work for the gameplay/combat encounters, mission flow, etc. Many hands make light work, and if this was properly organized and promoted in the community, who wouldn't want to be involved in a project like this?? With the right team of people coordinating everything, it could really come together. If it's true that 343 is diverting most of their resources allocated for MCC elsewhere, something like this happening is probably the only realistic way we'll get to experience all this amazing lore in-game at some point. I'm not one to just spout off about what I think "should be done" and just shrug my shoulders and say "good luck with that."
